We Choose Love to Forgive Our Judgements

God is the Love in which I forgive.

³Forgiveness is the great need of this world, but that is because it is a world of illusions. ⁴Those who forgive are thus releasing themselves from illusions, while those who withhold forgiveness are binding themselves to them. ⁵As you condemn only yourself, so do you forgive only yourself.

“Yet although God does not forgive, His Love is nevertheless the basis of forgiveness. ²Fear condemns and love forgives. ³Forgiveness thus undoes what fear has produced, returning the mind to the awareness of God. ⁴For this reason, forgiveness can truly be called salvation. ⁵It is the means by which illusions disappear.”

⁴God is the Love in which I forgive you, [name].

³God is the Love in which I forgive myself.

⁵God is the Love with which I love myself.
⁶God is the Love in which I am blessed.

³I cannot be guilty because I am a Son of God.
⁴I have already been forgiven.
⁵No fear is possible in a mind beloved of God.

Judgment is an attack on the innocence of God’s Love. His Love never changes. It is all inclusive. All of His Creation is held in His Love. Nothing else exists.

When we accept God’s Love as ours, we know that we have always been forgiven because Love sees only Itself. In the dream of this world, we have accepted a substitute for God’s Love. This substitute is held in place by judgment.

This is why forgiveness is needed to release the dream of fear and guilt. When we accept the Love we are, we no longer need to attack with judgment to divide the world into separate parts. We have been forgiven. Judgment has no place in our reality of Love.

Remembering God’s Gift of His Love

Today the peace of God envelops me, and I forget all things except His Love.

Father, I wake today with miracles correcting my perception of all things. ²And so begins the day I share with You as I will share eternity, for time has stepped aside today. ³I do not seek the things of time, and so I will not look upon them. ⁴What I seek today transcends all laws of time and things perceived in time. ⁵I would forget all things except Your Love. ⁶I would abide in You, and know no laws except Your law of love. ⁷And I would find the peace which You created for Your Son, forgetting all the foolish toys I made as I behold Your glory and my own.

And when the evening comes today, we will remember nothing but the peace of God. ²For we will learn today what peace is ours, when we forget all things except God’s Love. (A Course in Miracles, W-346. See also ACIM Lesson 346 Insights.)

Healthy forgetting makes way for healing remembering. We need to forget our wish for specialness and separation. We need to forget the value we place on things in this world. The only real value is God’s gift of all His Love. This gift brings peace and joy with It.

Today we are grateful for the happy forgetting that comes with true forgiveness. We remember that we live and have our being in the Love of God. It is our eternal Home. We live in joy and peace. His Love not only surrounds us, It is in us. It is our true Identity. Today we happily forget all values in the world to remember Love.

Seeing with Love’s Eyes

I offer only miracles today, for I would have them be returned to me.

Father, a miracle reflects Your gifts to me, Your Son. ²And every one I give returns to me, reminding me the law of love is universal. ³Even here, it takes a form which can be recognized and seen to work. ⁴The miracles I give are given back in just the form I need to help me with the problems I perceive. ⁵Father, in Heaven it is different, for there, there are no needs. ⁶But here on earth, the miracle is closer to Your gifts than any other gift that I can give. ⁷Then let me give this gift alone today, which, born of true forgiveness, lights the way that I must travel to remember You.

Peace to all seeking hearts today. ²The light has come to offer miracles to bless the tired world. ³It will find rest today, for we will offer what we have received. (A Course in Miracles, W-345. See also ACIM Lesson 345 Insights.)

True forgiveness dispels our barriers to Love, letting the miracle of Love’s extension bring blessing to the world. And by extending Love’s blessing, we are blessed, for the law of Love is that giving and receiving are the same.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to show us the Love that is always behind all appearances in the world. As we see with eyes of Love, we see that nothing can harm or change God’s Son, our true Self. We are eternally safe in His Love. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we will remember this today and bring miracles to the world.

Fulfilling Our Role as Love’s Extension

There is no conflict, for my will is Yours.

How foolish, Father, to believe Your Son could cause himself to suffer! ²Could he make a plan for his damnation, and be left without a certain way to his release? ³You love me, Father. ⁴You could never leave me desolate, to die within a world of pain and cruelty. ⁵How could I think that Love has left Itself? ⁶There is no will except the Will of Love. ⁷Fear is a dream, and has no will that can conflict with Yours. ⁸Conflict is sleep, and peace awakening. ⁹Death is illusion; life, eternal truth. ¹⁰There is no opposition to Your Will. ¹¹There is no conflict, for my will is Yours.

Forgiveness shows us that God’s Will is One, and that we share it. ²Let us look upon the holy sights forgiveness shows today, that we may find the peace of God. ³Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-331. See also ACIM Lesson 331 Insights.)

Any disturbance to our peace of mind is a sign that we have accepted the idea of differences and conflict in our mind. It is a sign that there is an illusion we believe is real, and it needs to be forgiven. Forgiveness dispels illusions and lets the Light of Love shine in our mind. It lets our true Self shine forth to fulfill Its role as Love’s extension.

As we let the Holy Spirit guide us in the way of Love, we become a healing presence in the world. We cease to oppose Love’s Will, accepting Its Will as our own, for so It is.

Choose Peace to Remember Love

⁶In quietness is [the peace of God] acknowledged universally. ⁷For what your inward vision looks upon is your perception of the universe.

Sit quietly and close your eyes. ²The light within you is sufficient. ³It alone has power to give the gift of sight to you. ⁴Exclude the outer world, and let your thoughts fly to the peace within. ⁵They know the way. ⁶For honest thoughts, untainted by the dream of worldly things outside yourself, become the holy messengers of God Himself.

We practice coming nearer to the light in us today. ²We take our wandering thoughts, and gently bring them back to where they fall in line with all the thoughts we share with God.

…we acknowledge that the peace of God still shines in us, and from us to all living things that share our life. ²We will forgive them all, absolving all the world from what we thought it did to us. ³For it is we who make the world as we would have it. ⁴Now we choose that it be innocent, devoid of sin and open to salvation. ⁵And we lay our saving blessing on it, as we say:

⁶The peace of God is shining in me now.
⁷Let all things shine upon me in that peace,
and let me bless them with the light in me. (A Course in Miracles, W-188.5:6–7;6;9:1-2;10. See also ACIM Lesson 188 Insights.)

We do not have to qualify to receive God’s peace. It is already given, and for eternity. But we do have to accept His gift.

The ego thought system is the effect of rejecting God’s gift of all His Love. Love cannot be found in the ego-made world, though it sends us on a constant quest to seek Love where it cannot be found. Then, using its key tool of separation, it projects the lack of Love on God. It claims to be the victim of God’s denial, but it is a lie. The ego is solely responsible for our experience of lack of Love.

Here we are learning the way to undo this experience, to undo the ego. Each moment that we step back and welcome the peace of God loosens the ego’s influence on our experience. As we accept His peace, we open our mind to His Love, His healing messages, His gentle direction in the way of peace. We choose peace today, for we would remember we live in God.

The Blessing of Welcoming Peace

The Holy Spirit is the Mediator between the interpretations of the ego and the knowledge of the spirit. ²His ability to deal with symbols enables Him to work with the ego’s beliefs in its own language. ³His ability to look beyond symbols into eternity enables Him to understand the laws of God, for which He speaks. ⁴He can therefore perform the function of reinterpreting what the ego makes, not by destruction but by understanding. ⁵Understanding is light, and light leads to knowledge. ⁶The Holy Spirit is in light because He is in you who are light, but you yourself do not know this. ⁷It is therefore the task of the Holy Spirit to reinterpret you on behalf of God.

You cannot understand yourself alone. ²This is because you have no meaning apart from your rightful place in the Sonship, and the rightful place of the Sonship is God. ³This is your life, your eternity and your Self. ⁴It is of this that the Holy Spirit reminds you. ⁵It is this that the Holy Spirit sees. ⁶This vision frightens the ego because it is so calm. ⁷Peace is the ego’s greatest enemy because, according to its interpretation of reality, war is the guarantee of its survival. ⁸The ego becomes strong in strife. ⁹If you believe there is strife you will react viciously, because the idea of danger has entered your mind. ¹⁰The idea itself is an appeal to the ego. ¹¹The Holy Spirit is as vigilant as the ego to the call of danger, opposing it with His strength just as the ego welcomes it. ¹²The Holy Spirit counters this welcome by welcoming peace. ¹³Eternity and peace are as closely related as are time and war. Whenever we see conflict, we have put the ego in charge of our mind. The ego is constantly on the lookout for differences. By definition, a difference must conflict with what is around it. This keeps the ego satisfied, because without differences, the ego would cease to seem to exist. Because conflict keeps the ego in place, the antidote to the ego is peace.

The Holy Spirit welcomes peace because It welcomes the condition in which God and His Son dwell. The more we focus on welcoming peace in our mind, the more we accept the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our thoughts and actions.

Today we choose to step back and welcome peace in our mind. Here is where we remember the Self God created as His Son. In that recognition, we see every brother as one with this Self.

Awakening to the Certainty of Love

My only function is the one God gave me.

The idea for today reaffirms your commitment to salvation. ²It also reminds you that you have no function other than that. ³Both these thoughts are obviously necessary for a total commitment. ⁴Salvation cannot be the only purpose you hold while you still cherish others. ⁵The full acceptance of salvation as your only function necessarily entails two phases; the recognition of salvation as your function, and the relinquishment of all the other goals you have invented for yourself.

³This is the only way in which you can find peace of mind.

²Today’s idea offers you escape from all your perceived difficulties. ³It places the key to the door of peace, which you have closed upon yourself, in your own hands. ⁴It gives you the answer to all the searching you have done since time began. (A Course in Miracles, W-65.1;2:3;3:2-4. See also ACIM Lesson 65 Insights.)

In this dream of limitation, where we seem to dwell in a body, limited in time and space, our only function is to let go of the cause of this limiting dream. Only our belief that we are separate prevents us from knowing the freedom of being and extending the Love we are.

In our natural state, we dwell in perfect peace and share God’s joy of giving and receiving Love. Today we choose to be vigilant for Love. We do this by recognizing any disturbance to our peace of mind, any fear or any guilt, and asking the Holy Spirit to let it go.

He will show us the certainty of Love beyond the images that bring fear and guilt into our mind. As we let Him teach us that we are Love and nothing else, we fulfill our function. We release the world from all we thought it was. We awaken to our Home in God’s Love.
