Heaven Goes With Us

Whenever you feel fear in any form,—and you are fearful if you do not feel a deep content, a certainty of help, a calm assurance Heaven goes with you,—be sure you made an idol, and believe it will betray you.

Forgiving dreams remind you that you live in safety and have not attacked yourself. …Forgiving dreams are kind to everyone who figures in the dream. And so they bring the dreamer full release from dreams of fear. (A Course in Miracles, T-29.IX.9:1;10:1,3-4)

I woke up last night and made up a story of conflict in my mind. I thought of scenarios and means I could use to defend myself. These definitely were not thoughts of contentment and safety. Looking at it now it is laughable that I would entertain this made up story that had no basis, even in seeming events in the world. It was a good example to show me how my thoughts affect my experience.

The Course is teaching us that we do not have to be limited to these thoughts. We are always free to choose a better way. We are always free to choose a Guide Whose only motivation is to extend Love. In truth, that is our only true motivation as well. Our true Self is an extension of Love and Its only desire is to keep that extension going. Thoughts of judgment, fear, conflict and guilt are simply childish toys that no longer serve us.

With the practice of aligning our minds with the Holy Spirit, we learn these toys have no substance and no meaning. As we forgive, we lay down these toys of judgment. This is how we make way for the experience of the calm assurance that Heaven goes with us.

Answering Love’s Call

Every obstacle that peace must flow across is surmounted in just the same way; the fear that raised it yields to the love beyond, and so the fear is gone. …The desire to get rid of peace and drive the Holy Spirit from you fades in the presence of the quiet recognition that you love Him. The exaltation of the body is given up in favor of the spirit, which you love as you could never love the body. And the appeal of death is lost forever as love’s attraction stirs and calls to you. From beyond each of the obstacles to love, Love Itself has called.” (A Course in Miracles, T-19.IV.D.5:1,3-6)

Love calls to us ceaselessly. Our Father calls eternally for His Son to return Home. As we answer the call, fear dissolves. The Light of Love shines away the shadows of fear. The veil is lifted. 

Today our highest purpose is to become aware of Love’s Call and extend the Love we receive to every brother. This is our practice today.

Beholding Innocence Brings Joy

Minds that are joined and recognize they are, can feel no guilt. For they cannot attack, and they rejoice that this is so, seeing their safety in this happy fact. Their joy is in the innocence they see. And thus they seek for it, because it is their purpose to behold it and rejoice. (A Course in Miracles, T-25.IV.1:1-4)

Everyone is looking for happiness. We are now learning that joy comes to us naturally as we look for and find the innocence in every brother we see or even think of. As we practice this more and more every day, our level of peace and joy expands as we see the truth about every brother.

We will see the innocence in every brother when we choose the Holy Spirit as our Guide instead of the ego. The Holy Spirit is our Guide to joy. As we follow Holy Spirit’s lead, the fear and guilt of the ego thought system will fade into distant shadows and then disappear in the Light of Love.

Accepting the Truth Brings Happiness

When we accept the truth, we are brought to the awareness that only Love is real. We are brought to the awareness that illusions of separation, pain, lack and loss mean nothing. We are brought to the awareness that Love is present everywhere… here… right now.

As we open to the truth, we remember that we are Love. We are able to see past the illusions of separate minds with separate bodies to the everlasting truth that Love is the only reality. Happiness and peace are inherent in Love’s Presence. This means that peace and happiness are here and ever present — right now.

Today our highest priority is to take all thoughts that bind and hurt to the everlasting presence of the Holy Spirit, where they are shined away. Only happiness and peace and joy remain. Today we are dedicated to experience the happiness that truth brings with it.

We Accept the Help of Holy Spirit Today

All through the day we have help. We are guided throughout the day as we let Holy Spirit’s peaceful inspiration lead the way… We remain open and receptive to Holy Spirit’s Thoughts… We remember that we do not know what anything means on our own but the Holy Spirit, Who remains within our mind, always does…

We practice letting ourselves be carried today by receiving Holy Spirit’s Love and peace and joy… And we extend everything we receive to everyone around us… We are so grateful for all the help we receive every moment of the day… Today is a day filled with Light and gratitude.

Our Prayer for Today

Holy Spirit, guide our thoughts that they may reflect God’s Love… Guide our words that they may be Love’s expression in the world… Guide our doing that we may be truly helpful… Lead us in the way that you would have us go that we may truly fulfill our function as Love’s extension in the world… And we give thanks.

We Give This Day to Love

A special blessing comes to us today, from Him Who is our Father. Give this day to Him, and there will be no fear today, because the day is given unto love. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.274.2)

To give the day to God is to give the day to Love. Love is changeless, complete and wholly innocent. Love is all that Is and therefore sees only Love.

To give the day to Love is to welcome Christ’s vision and see only Love. Because Love is whole, It knows only perfect safety. When we give the day to Love, we give the day to peace and happiness, for these are attributes of Love. As we give the day to Love, we receive a day of blessing.
