Let Happiness Fill Our Heart and Mind Today

Happiness comes when we are willing to let the Holy Spirit be in charge of our mind. The Holy Spirit knows what is in the best interest for all concerned in every situation we encounter. Our job is to be open and receptive to His inspiration all through the day. With this willingness comes peace and joy and happiness, for these characteristics are inherent in the Holy Spirit’s gifts to us.

Our happiness level can be like a barometer, giving us feedback as to how much we are letting the Holy Spirit be in charge of our mind. If fear crops up, we need to return to Holy Spirit. If a sense of worry, conflict or judging another comes up, we return to Holy Spirit.

Taking all ego thoughts to the Holy Spirit is our main focus for today. We would rather be happy than right. And we know that happiness is inherent in following Holy Spirit’s guidance all through the day.

Giving Holy Spirit Time to Transform Our Minds

Today we are willing to stop and ask to see Holy Spirit’s perspective of our present experience… We stop and listen… We give the Holy Spirit the time to bring a bigger picture into our minds… We give the time to let the Holy Spirit’s peace and calm flow into our minds… We give the time to see a better way… We give the time to receive Holy Spirit’s inspiration…

We remember to give this time to Holy Spirit all through the day. We give Holy Spirit the time to transform our thoughts so that we are able to see the Divine Light behind everything. We are able to see our oneness. We are able to recognize the meaning Holy Spirit gives to everything we see.

Our life is transformed as we practice this willingness to be open to Holy Spirit’s inspiration throughout the day. We feel so grateful and appreciative of all the Help we have throughout the day.

All of God Is Given You

God gives all His Love to every part of the Sonship. He sees all of us as we truly are — perfect, eternal Love . As we practice opening to God’s Love, receiving God’s Love, we too see every brother as God sees them. We see that they are one in God, joined as one eternally.

We see that we are all connected — all joined as one eternal Love. Here is where our treasure lies. Here we see that we are one in the eternal Mind of God. Herein lies our peace, joy and happiness. All this comes as we accept the truth that God shares all of Himself with all us.

Letting Ourselves Be Carried

Gradually, [the teacher of God] learns how to let his words be chosen for him by ceasing to decide for himself what he will say. This process is merely a special case of the lesson in the workbook that says, “I will step back and let Him lead the way.” The teacher of God accepts the words which are offered him, and gives as he receives. He does not control the direction of his speaking. He listens and hears and speaks. (A Course in Miracles, M-22.4:5-8)

No aspect of our experience in the dream of separation is exempt from Holy Spirit’s help. We are always within reach of God’s Help. We need only be willing to step back and let Him lead the way.

Today we practice keeping our mind at peace and open to Holy Spirit’s lead. We trust that we will be given what we need to say when words are needed. We will be given the thoughts we need, whether they need to be expressed aloud or not. We will be given all the help we need to fulfill our part in God’s plan. With this practice, we will let ourselves be carried through the day.

Trusting in Our Brother

The Course tells us to trust in our brother who is one with us. This brother who is one with us is not a body or a personality, but is part of the One Self God created as His Son. To trust in the brother who is one with us is to trust in Love and nothing else.

The ego is incapable of this trust because it is incapable of recognizing the oneness of Love. It sees only its own projections. To trust in the Truth of our brothers, we must forgive or let go of the ego’s projections. We do this by bringing all our perceptions to the Holy Spirit with an open mind, willing to receive His reinterpretation.

The Holy Spirit will cleanse our thoughts of the false ideas the ego has laid upon the world and show us the Reality of Love that lies beyond. Today is another day to practice letting the Holy Spirit be our Guide in each moment. Thus will we learn to trust in the Truth in our brother.

Teaching Only Love

Of ourselves alone, we do not know our best interests, we do not know what will make us truly happy. Believing we are alone is a denial of our true Self, the Self that Love created and is only happy at Home in Love. The world we see is an illusion that hides our Self, the Love we are, from our awareness.

To find what will bring us true happiness, we need a Guide Who can see past our illusions and help us awaken to the truth of our one Self, at Home in God. We dedicate today to the moment-by-moment practice of opening to peace and welcoming the Holy Spirit’s guidance in all our doing. With His guidance, our doing will reflect Love’s presence. Our thoughts and our deeds will extend Love in the world and teach only Love, reminding us that Love is What we are.

Is This Thought from Ego or Holy Spirit?

Today we practice watching our thoughts. We welcome the Holy Spirit to help us discern the truth from illusion. The Holy Spirit will help us recognize thoughts stemming from separation if we are willing.

We want a better way. We want to wake up from the dream of separation. We want the peace, happiness and joy that is our natural inheritance. We are willing to join with Holy Spirit to let our minds be purified of the impostor ego thoughts. We have deceived ourselves, and now we would be undeceived. We accept the strength of God instead of our beliefs in weakness and vulnerability.

The ego thought system brings with it the belief that we are victims of the world. The truth is we are only the “victim” of the thoughts we are holding, and we can let them go. Today our practice is to consistently join with the Holy Spirit to let our minds be purified of all the ego’s false ideas. We choose freedom instead pain. We choose Love instead of fear. And our gratitude for our inner Teacher is strong.
