Choosing the Guide to Happiness

God gives me only happiness.
He has given my function to me.
Therefore my function must be happiness.

We have seen that there are only two parts of your mind. One is ruled by the ego, and is made up of illusions. The other is the home of the Holy Spirit, where truth abides. There are no other guides but these to choose between, and no other outcomes possible as a result of your choice but the fear that the ego always engenders, and the love [happiness] that the Holy Spirit always offers to replace it. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.66.5:2-4;7:2-5)

We have a choice today as to how we will experience the world. We can choose to see through the eyes of separation, which brings fear, guilt and isolation. Or, we can see with Holy Spirit’s eyes which bring us past separation’s image making to the quiet fields of Love that are eternally present. Choosing to see through Holy Spirit’s eyes brings us only happiness. Choosing to see through the ego’s eyes brings us frustration, anger and unhappiness.

Today we practice vigilance to step back from the ego’s clouds of differences that hide the face of Christ from our awareness. Today we choose Holy Spirit’s offerings of peace and Love and eternal happiness. Today we would be happy.
