Everyday Opportunities

When you meet anyone, remember it is a holy encounter. ²As you see him you will see yourself. ³As you treat him you will treat yourself. ⁴As you think of him you will think of yourself. ⁵Never forget this, for in him you will find yourself or lose yourself. ⁶Whenever two Sons of God meet, they are given another chance at salvation. ⁷Do not leave anyone without giving salvation to him and receiving it yourself. ⁸For I am always there with you, in remembrance of you.

The goal of the curriculum, regardless of the teacher you choose, is “Know thyself.” ²There is nothing else to seek. ³Everyone is looking for himself and for the power and glory he thinks he has lost. ⁴Whenever you are with anyone, you have another opportunity to find them. ⁵Your power and glory are in him because they are yours. ⁶The ego tries to find them in yourself alone, because it does not know where to look. ⁷The Holy Spirit teaches you that if you look only at yourself you cannot find yourself, because that is not what you are. ⁸Whenever you are with a brother, you are learning what you are because you are teaching what you are. ⁹He will respond either with pain or with joy, depending on which teacher you are following. ¹⁰He will be imprisoned or released according to your decision, and so will you. ¹¹Never forget your responsibility to him, because it is your responsibility to yourself. ¹²Give him his place in the Kingdom and you will have yours. Today, like every day, is an opportunity to heal our mind and remember our true Self. Whether or not we accept the opportunity depends upon whom we choose to accept as our guide. The ego always seeks to imprison us in an image of separation — a body, a personality, status or any other form of specialness. The ego always leads to illusions and denial of Love.

But we can choose the Holy Spirit to be our Guide. He will help us overlook the images of the world, the forms we ascribe to our brothers, to the Light of Love everywhere, in anyone. What we see in our brother tells us which guide we are following.

When we join with our brother in Love’s oneness, our true Self is our Guide. What we see in our brother teaches us what we are. That lesson returns us to our true Identity. We remember we are God’s Son, created by Love as Love and nothing else. Today is a wonderful opportunity to return to the truth.
