You Are Safe in God’s Peace

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Do you want a fuller experience of the peace of God? Start by just melting into God. Let go of your hold on the body. Let go of your hold on your story. Just soften. Relax. Breathe deeply and let go. Let it gently and quietly melt away. Your willingness to let go is important. Your willingness to let go is what allows the Holy Spirit to take over. Once you have given the reins over to the Holy Spirit, peace naturally replaces all the concepts that you had before about who you are and where you are.

Your willingness to soften and let go is like putting the welcome mat out to the Holy Spirit to heal your mind. All fear thoughts are replaced by peace. You know that all is well. You are allowing the Holy Spirit to return you to the truth. Here there is quiet. Here there is happiness. Here you are brought to your true beingness as Love in the Mind of God. Here anything that is not of God disappears because it was never true. It disappears in the Light because it was never true. It is only in darkness that the false images appear to be real.

You are now learning to let go of the darkness, let go of the false ideas which could never be true, which could never be real. You are learning what true forgiveness means. You no longer have to fight the Will of God by making up images of separation or separate bodies. You now willingly lay down your sword. You willingly let go of trying to make a world of separate bodies real. It feels so peaceful as you willingly let it all go and happiness replaces all sense of being alone and separate. The certainty that you are safe in God’s peace and joy and Love is very strong. Your trust is very strong. You rest in God’s peace. You rest in God’s peace.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Imagine that you are in a cocoon of the Light of Love. This Light goes with you wherever you go. It cannot leave you because it is attached at the heart. It is a symbol of your Self.

Imagine seeing yourself moving through your day in this cocoon of Light. See yourself meeting other cocoon’s of Light and joining with that Light. See that even in your thoughts of others you join in the Light. See this Light surrounding even the seemingly inanimate objects you work with during the day — computers, printers, cars, machines, pieces of paper, all these are in the Light of Love with you. And so you see them all in the Light of Love.

In this seeing there is no past, for the Light of Love is now. In this seeing, the form diminishes in importance and the Love steps forward as you join with It. Let this be the way you meet each moment today, and your day will be one of happy joining.

The Way Out of Hell

Mary:
What stood out to me in our reading of A Course in Miracles this morning is:

To follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance is to let yourself be absolved of guilt. It is the essence of the Atonement. It is the core of the curriculum. The imagined usurping of functions not your own is the basis of fear. The whole world you see reflects the illusion that you have done so, making fear inevitable. To return the function to the One to Whom it belongs is thus the escape from fear. And it is this that lets the memory of love return to you. (M-29.3:3-9)

This makes the relationship between fear and deciding things on my own very clear to me. It still seems easy to forget to step back and ask the Holy Spirit with every situation. I am still needing to practice letting myself be carried, minute by minute. It still seems far to easy to assume that I already know and therefore forget to ask. This is my work today and every day — to refer decisions to the Holy Spirit with increasing frequency. When I do remember, it becomes very obvious that everyone, including myself, is Love and nothing else. When I forget, I make the false stories real and then fear is inevitable.

This section clearly defines the way out of fear and very simply explains how to let the memory of Love return. I am very grateful for the messages in the Course that gently lead me back to where true happiness really is found. The ego always looks in the wrong direction — to the outer world for solutions to problems. The Holy Spirit lifts the veil of separation to reveal where the only true answer lies. It is the way out of hell for the whole Sonship. Letting myself be guided by the Holy Spirit all through the day is where my freedom lies.

Robert:
This same section tells us that following the Holy Spirit’s guidance is the way out of hell. It says,

If you have made it a habit to ask for help when and where you can, you can be confident that wisdom will be given you when you need it. Prepare for this each morning, remember God when you can throughout the day, ask the Holy Spirit’s help when it is feasible to do so, and thank Him for His guidance at night. And your confidence will be well founded indeed. (M-29.5:8-10)

The temptation to think I know what anything means on my own is simply a reflection of resistance to accepting God’s gift of Love. It is an attempt to demonstrate, like a rebellious teenager, that I can do it myself. I can make my own world. In this rebellious mode I would rather have an unending series of problems than accept the peace of God that is my inheritance. How insane is that!

The insane do not recognize their insanity. They need help from outside the insane thought system they believe in. I am grateful that Love gave that Help in my mind. The Holy Spirit sees the insanity but does not believe it.

The value of opening my heart and mind to the Holy Spirit’s guidance in every moment is that it leads out of the insanity of belief in being alone and into the reality of perfect peace and quiet joy in the eternal Love of God. Today is another blessed opportunity to practice letting the Holy Spirit be my Guide through the day.

Receive and Extend Peace

Mary: 
In our reading of A Course in Miracles this morning, this stood out to me: “Peace will be yours because His peace still flows to you from Him Whose Will is peace. You have it now. The Holy Spirit will teach you how to use it, and by extending it, to learn that it is in you. God willed you Heaven, and will always will you nothing else.” (T-13.XI.8:4-7)

This reminds me that peace is mine to receive and extend. It is my job to receive God’s peace now in order to extend it. This is my opportunity today and every day — to receive peace and extend peace. As I am willing to step back and not make up a world on my own, I will remember my true function. This is my lesson or lab time assignment for today.

Robert:
I will step back and let Love lead the way. Peace is an attribute of Love, so to let Love lead the way, I need to stay in peace. Today my practice is to be mindful of my level of peace and to return to peace whenever I recognize I have allowed a disturbance into my mind. This is how I will have a Love-filled, joyful day.

The Blessing of Willingness

Mary:  This morning many thoughts about the world swirl in and out. All the stories I hear in the world and my own story dance around in my head. This morning we read A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 139, “I will accept Atonement for myself.” This wonderful lesson reminded me once again to step back from the stories.

“Nothing the world believes is true. It is a place whose purpose is to be a home where those who claim they do not know themselves can come to question what it is they are. And they will come again until the time Atonement is accepted, and they learn it is impossible to doubt yourself, and not to be aware of what you are.” W-pI.139.7:1-3

Reading this lesson this morning really helped me step back and remember that I am eternal Spirit. I am under no laws but God’s. All the stories are not true. Nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. We all are in Heaven now and our denial of What we are and Where we are does not change anything, for we remain as God created us. We remain safe in God.

I take a deep breath and let this truth in. I let myself feel the truth that nothing has really ever “happened” but the eternal extension of God’s Love. I breathe it in and let the Light of truth dissolve all the fear thoughts that I was holding on to. I allow myself to rest awhile in the truth.

The importance of willingness comes into my mind; the importance of being willing to let go or forgive the false dream of separation is there. I accept Holy Spirit’s help in letting go of the dream. As I do this I feel the difference. The Holy Spirit takes my little willingness to forgive and transforms the fear thoughts into the Light of Love. Here there is certainty. This is what is eternally true. And I thank God that this is so. I am reminded once again to let myself be carried as I go through this day.

Robert:  I want to have a happy day today. I know I will have a happy day if I let Love lead the way. Today is another gift I give myself by stepping back and letting Love be my Guide in all my doing, in all my seeing, in all my thoughts.

God Wills That You Be Happy

Mary:
Today let me remember simple, uncomplicated Love. Let me remember the simplicity of accepting God’s peace. Let me relax and let go of the false idea that separation could ever be real. Let me stop and accept God’s Will for me. God wills only happiness for me and everyone. Let me use time now to rest in the peace I am now accepting as mine. I allow peace to do its healing work through me today.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Let Love guide you in each moment today. Make no decision on your own. Thinking you are on your own is thinking you are separate from Love. Thus any decision you make on your own is a loveless decision.

To be happy it is essential that you let Love guide you in each moment. Love and perfect happiness always come together, for they cannot be separated. With Love as your guide, you rest in Love’s peace. There is no guilt, for Love cannot conceive of loss. Let all your doing be in the flow of Love today and you will experience a happy day indeed.

Learn to Be Quiet

Mary: 
This morning what stood out to me with our reading of A Course in Miracles was: “Have you yet learned to stand aside and hear the Voice of Judgment in yourself? Or do you still attempt to take His role from Him? Learn to be quiet, for His Voice is heard in stillness. And His Judgment comes to all who stand aside in quiet listening, and wait for Him.” M-15.2:10-13

This is my practice now. If I am honest I have to acknowledge that I still do “attempt to take His role from Him.” I am observing that many times a day I still think I already know and go on automatic pilot, bringing what I learned from the past to the present. This is not what brings me happiness. So today I have another opportunity to practice the learning that comes from my true Self… learning to by quiet and listen for the truth. As I truly am willing, the truth will return to my awareness. I have only been blocking it off because I thought I already knew.

In my daily practice I am finding that if I focus on simply melting into peace, that peace comes. In particular I focus on relaxing the muscles around my eyes and jaw and shoulders and arms. An image of being showered with the healing Light of peace often comes to me as I do this. As I stick with this and don’t let my mind wander, the peace goes deeper and the feeling that everything is alright grows strong. Peace replaces the fearful thoughts I held before. Wholeness replaces separation. I feel deep gratitude and appreciation that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. The truth is true and nothing else is true. I breathe deeply. Inspiration comes easily and I am guided in how to be truly helpful once again. This practice is my lesson now until I learn that this is all I want.

Robert:
I do not deserve anything in the world because nothing in the world is worthy of God’s Son. To value any form in the world is to devalue What I am. It is choosing emptiness in place of wholeness. It is choosing vulnerability in place of changelessness.

There is only one meaningful purpose for anything in the world and that is how it serves to express or reflect Love. Nothing else matters. The perception of some other value is simply a reminder to forgive, to let go of what is interfering with my experience of Love’s Presence.

Now I settle into Love’s warm embrace. I welcome It and feel It fill me with the certainty of changelessness. As I accept It fully, it overflows and I cannot help but offer that deep, kind, all embracing Love everywhere. As I let It flow through me, I experience It as mine. My heart is filled with gratitude for all my brothers who share this Love with me.

I Will Make No Decision on My Own

Mary:
Early this morning I woke up with the communication (that included feelings and impressions) that God has a Warehouse and that everyone owns all of God’s Warehouse, whether they recognize it or not. God’s Warehouse is filled with His gifts of peace, happiness and all-inclusive Love.

I then saw myself as the decision maker with two warehouses to choose between. The ego’s warehouse was filled with glistening things (images), forms of uniqueness and specialness. It included special houses, special people, special times, special locations. I stood between these two warehouses as the decision maker and Holy Spirit was there with me.

The Holy Spirit said, “If you want true happiness, do not make decisions on your own. When you make decisions with Me, you are relinquishing the role of decision maker and letting yourself be carried. As you are willing to consistently step back and be carried, I always take you to God’s Warehouse where peace and joy are eternal.

“This is your job now — to let yourself be carried. You really do not want to make decisions on your own, because on your own your decisions are always mistaken. Let this be the theme of the rest of your ‘life’: I will make no decisions on my own. I let myself be carried to the truth.”

This little early morning time with Holy Spirit feels very significant to me. I see very clearly that if I feel happy, I am letting myself be carried. If I feel a lack of peace or impatient, I have once again tried to decide something on my own. My lesson is very simple. Today my practice is to let myself be carried by making no decisions on my own.

Robert:
If I value any form in the world, believing it has something I want, I will feel a sense of emptiness and incompletion. To value an image I must first have decided that something is missing in me that can be filled by this image. But being an image without substance, it cannot satisfy. Feeling incomplete is not a happy feeling.

I have a choice for how to remedy this feeling. I can choose to seek another image in the hope that perhaps it can fill the emptiness I feel. But it will never satisfy and will lead to an ongoing effort to seek and not find.

The other option is to withdraw belief that there is any value in form and let the Holy Spirit decide what has value on my behalf. The Holy Spirit will always decide for the completion of the Love of God. In Love I experience completion and joy. In Love I am grateful for all the Love that surrounds me. I see only Love. All sense of loss disappears.

Do I want to know my completion and experience perfect happiness? Then I must choose not to decide on my own, but to let the Holy Spirit guide every decision. His guidance will always lead me out of emptiness to the eternal completion of Love.
