Joining with the Joy of Extending Love

…gratitude remains a part of love.

Thanks be to you, the holy Son of God. ²For as you were created, you contain all things within your Self. ³And you are still as God created you. ⁴Nor can you dim the light of your perfection. ⁵In your heart the Heart of God is laid. ⁶He holds you dear, because you are Himself. ⁷All gratitude belongs to you, because of what you are.

Give thanks as you receive it. ²Be you free of all ingratitude to anyone who makes your Self complete. ³And from this Self is no one left outside. ⁴Give thanks for all the countless channels which extend this Self. ⁵All that you do is given unto Him. ⁶All that you think can only be His Thoughts, sharing with Him the holy Thoughts of God. ⁷Earn now the gratitude you have denied yourself when you forgot the function God has given you. ⁸But never think that He has ever ceased to offer thanks to you. Whenever we feel distressed, it can be helpful to turn our thoughts to gratitude. When we focus on what we are grateful for, we are welcoming the Love that completes us in our unity with God. We may start with gratitude for things in the world. But as we let our thoughts of gratitude proceed to the deeper feelings of appreciation for kindness and helpfulness, our focus is elevated.

As we learn to recognize the Love that is the truth in every brother, in all of Reality, we realize that we are Love and nothing else. Today let us be grateful that God is in our heart; He will never leave us. In the certainty of His Love, we can rest in His peace. We gratefully join in His joy of extending Love without limit.

Recognizing the Love We Are

⁴Deep in your mind the holy Christ in you is waiting your acknowledgment as you. ⁵And you are lost and do not know yourself while He is unacknowledged and unknown.

Seek Him today, and find Him. ²He will be your Savior from all idols you have made. ³For when you find Him, you will understand how worthless are your idols, and how false the images which you believed were you. ⁴Today we make a great advance to truth by letting idols go, and opening our hands and hearts and minds to God today.

We will remember Him throughout the day with thankful hearts and loving thoughts for all who meet with us today. ²For it is thus that we remember Him. ³And we will say, that we may be reminded of His Son, our holy Self, the Christ in each of us:

⁴I am as God created me.

⁵Let us declare this truth as often as we can. ⁶This is the Word of God that sets you free. ⁷This is the key that opens up the gate of Heaven, and that lets you enter in the peace of God and His eternity. (A Course in Miracles, W-110.9:4–11:7. See also ACIM Lesson 110 Insights.)

Christ is the truth in everyone. He is our true Self, and the true Self of everybody. This is the Son God created eternally one with Himself.

While we believe we are a body, the idea that we are the Christ seems absurd. Bodies seem to attack and need vigilant defense. But the body is not our identity. It is a false image that denies the truth. The idea that our true Self is the Christ needs much repetition to counteract our ingrained identification with the body.

As we recognize the reality of our true Self, we realize we are safe. We are loved eternally. We can relax in God’s peace, for we know His strength is ours. Our true Self shares God’s invulnerability, for He created us one with Himself. We are grateful that we remain as God created us.

Seeing the Love That Unities Us with Everyone

⁵The purpose of all seeing is to show you what you wish to see. ⁶All hearing but brings to your mind the sounds it wants to hear.

Thus were specifics made. ²And now it is specifics we must use in practicing. ³We give them to the Holy Spirit, that He may employ them for a purpose which is different from the one we gave to them. ⁴Yet He can use but what we made, to teach us from a different point of view, so we can see a different use in everything.

One brother is all brothers. ²Every mind contains all minds, for every mind is one.

⁶Ask this of [your brother], that he may set you free:

⁷Give me your blessing, holy Son of God. ⁸I would behold you with the eyes of Christ, and see my perfect sinlessness in you. (A Course in Miracles, W-161.2:5–4:2;11:6-8. See also ACIM Lesson 161 Insights.)

The eyes of Christ are forgiving eyes. To see the blessing every brother offers us, we must see him with forgiving eyes. This vision comes when we turn our judgments over to the Holy Spirit for His loving correction. With His help, we see beyond the appearance of bodies. We see the truth of Love in every brother, and learn that Love is ours. This is the blessing every brother offers us when we see him truly.

There are no differences. Every brother is the same Love. This is the truth that sets us free.

Willingness to Accept the Holy Spirit’s Help

When you accept a brother’s guiltlessness you will see the Atonement in him. ²For by proclaiming it in him you make it yours, and you will see what you sought. ³You will not see the symbol of your brother’s guiltlessness shining within him while you still believe it is not there. ⁴His guiltlessness is your Atonement.

²The state of guiltlessness is only the condition in which what is not there has been removed from the disordered mind that thought it was. ³This state, and only this, must you attain, with God beside you. ⁴For until you do, you will still think that you are separate from Him. ⁵You can perhaps feel His Presence next to you, but cannot know that you are one with Him.

When you have let all that obscured the truth in your most holy mind be undone for you, and therefore stand in grace before your Father, He will give Himself to you as He has always done.  (A Course in Miracles, T-14.IV.1:1-4;2:2-5;3:1. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

We see pain and suffering, guilt and fear, in the world only because we have let illusions obscure the truth in our mind. To let go of these illusions, we need to turn our judgments over to the Holy Spirit for His loving correction.

It is not our job to correct our illusions. But we have been given the Holy Spirit to undo our illusions for us when we are willing to receive His correction. With His help we will see the guiltlessness of every brother and learn of our own innocence.

The key to healing our mind and awakening to the truth is to let the Holy Spirit do His part. Our part is willingness to accept His help. Today we take the Holy Spirit’s hand with willingness to accept His healing help.

Remembering Our True Self Is Spirit

I am as God created me.

This single thought, held firmly in the mind, would save the world.… ⁴These words are sacred, for they are the words God gave in answer to the world you made.

Here is the Word by which the Son became his Father’s happiness, His Love and His completion. ²Here creation is proclaimed, and honored as it is. ³There is no dream these words will not dispel; no thought of sin and no illusion which the dream contains that will not fade away before their might.

Holy indeed is he who makes these words his own; arising with them in his mind, recalling them throughout the day, at night bringing them with him as he goes to sleep. ²His dreams are happy and his rest secure, his safety certain and his body healed, because he sleeps and wakens with the truth before him always. Our true Self is Spirit. Spirit has no limits, no differences. It is wholly Love, united with the Love that is our Creator. This Spirit is united with the one Spirit of Love in everyone, everywhere.

As we remember that this is our Reality, we recognize our holiness reflected in everyone, everywhere. We rest in the peace that holiness contains, knowing this holiness is invulnerable.

As we accept that we are as God created us, we accept His gift of His peace and joy and know that It is ours. Appearances in the world are easily passed by, for we know that only the holiness of God’s Love is real. We are grateful that this is so.

Remembering Our True Identity

Light and joy and peace abide in me.

²I am the home of light and joy and peace. ³I welcome them into the home I share with God, because I am a part of Him.

I am as God created me.

²I will remain forever as I was, created by the Changeless like Himself. ³And I am one with Him, and He with me. (A Course in Miracles, W-112.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 112 Insights.)

When we believe we are a body, we are accepting a false identity. This identity denies our real Identity as one with God. This false identity proclaims a separation from Reality so profound that our true Identity seems unreal, while the false seems real.

This lesson is reminding us of our true Identity. It tells us that in fact, light and joy and peace are our Identity. This is our Reality. This is where we were created to be eternally. We are God’s Son, at one with our Creator with a bond that is impossible to break.

Today we give thanks that we remain at Home in the oneness of God’s Love.

How to Have a Love-Filled Day

⁷Never forget the Love of God, Who has remembered you. ⁸For it is quite impossible that He could ever let His Son drop from the loving Mind wherein he was created, and where his abode was fixed in perfect peace forever.

Say to the Holy Spirit only, “Decide for me,” and it is done. ²For His decisions are reflections of what God knows about you, and in this light, error of any kind becomes impossible. ³Why would you struggle so frantically to anticipate all you cannot know, when all knowledge lies behind every decision the Holy Spirit makes for you? ⁴Learn of His wisdom and His Love, and teach His answer to everyone who struggles in the dark. ⁵For you decide for them and for yourself.”

Whenever you are in doubt what you should do, think of His Presence in you, and tell yourself this, and only this:

²He leadeth me and knows the way, which I know not.
³Yet He will never keep from me what He would have me learn.
⁴And so I trust Him to communicate to me all that He knows for me.

⁵Then let Him teach you quietly how to perceive your guiltlessness, which is already there. (A Course in Miracles, T-14.III.15:7–16:5;19. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

Image what our day would be like if every thought and action was directed by Love. This is the kind of day God wants us to have. But we must be willing to let go of our judgments, our desire for specialness. Love is our true Identity.

We have chosen a false identity which we see in a world of fear, guilt and hate. Today we can choose our Reality in place of our fantasies. Today we are mindful of our judgments and fear. We offer them to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to show us the truth beyond our perceptions. He will replace them with His vision of Love. With this willingness we learn to recognize the Love we are.
