Accepting God’s World As Our Own

Father, unless I judge I cannot weep. ²Nor can I suffer pain, or feel I am abandoned or unneeded in the world. ³This is my home because I judge it not, and therefore is it only what You will. ⁴Let me today behold it uncondemned, through happy eyes forgiveness has released from all distortion. ⁵Let me see Your world instead of mine. ⁶And all the tears I shed will be forgotten, for their source is gone. ⁷Father, I will not judge Your world today.

God’s world is happy. ²Those who look on it can only add their joy to it, and bless it as a cause of further joy in them. ³We wept because we did not understand. ⁴But we have learned the world we saw was false, and we will look upon God’s world today. We make a world of fear and guilt with our judgments. These judgments come from the split mind, which does not know what Love is. It does not know what Reality is. Love does not judge. It sees only Itself in all things because Love is one. This world of Love is God’s World. It is our Home where we can rest in His peace and experience His joy.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us recognize our judgments and let them go. We want to see God’s happy world and know It as our own.

Following the Guide to Lasting Happiness

I place the future in the Hands of God.

Accept today’s idea, and you have passed all anxiety, all pits of hell, all blackness of depression, thoughts of sin, and devastation brought about by guilt. ²Accept today’s idea, and you have released the world from all imprisonment by loosening the heavy chains that locked the door to freedom on it. ³You are saved, and your salvation thus becomes the gift you give the world, because you have received.

In no one instant is depression felt, or pain experienced or loss perceived. ²In no one instant sorrow can be set upon a throne, and worshipped faithfully. ³In no one instant can one even die. ⁴And so each instant given unto God in passing, with the next one given Him already, is a time of your release from sadness, pain and even death itself.

Release the future. ²For the past is gone, and what is present, freed from its bequest of grief and misery, of pain and loss, becomes the instant in which time escapes the bondage of illusions where it runs its pitiless, inevitable course. ³Then is each instant which was slave to time transformed into a holy instant, when the light that was kept hidden in God’s Son is freed to bless the world. ⁴Now is he free, and all his glory shines upon a world made free with him, to share his holiness. The ego wants us dead, its ultimate “proof” that separation is real. All the pain and suffering it leads us through is all intended to lead us to the final proof.

On the other hand, God’s Will for us, His Son, is eternal Life held happily in changeless Love. His Will for us is happiness and peace. Putting our future in His hands is certainly a better choice than giving any credence to the ego.

To guide us to the future God wills for us, He gave us the Holy Spirit. When we let the Holy Spirit guide our thoughts and actions, He will guide us safely through and out of the ego’s thought system of separation.

Because the Holy Spirit is God’s Teacher in our mind, when we put Him in charge, we are putting the future in God’s Hands. Today we choose to follow the Teacher Who leads us Home.

Welcoming Love As Our Reality

…[God] wills the happiness His Son inherited of Him be undisturbed; eternal and forever gaining scope, eternally expanding in the joy of full creation, and eternally open and wholly limitless in Him. ³That is His Will. ⁴And thus His Will provides the means to guarantee that it is done.”

Forgive, and you will see this differently.

²These are the words the Holy Spirit speaks in all your tribulations, all your pain, all suffering regardless of its form. ³These are the words with which temptation ends, and guilt, abandoned, is revered no more. ⁴These are the words which end the dream of sin, and rid the mind of fear. ⁵These are the words by which salvation comes to all the world.

Shall we not learn to say these words when we are tempted to believe that pain is real, and death becomes our choice instead of life? ²Shall we not learn to say these words when we have understood their power to release all minds from bondage? ³These are words which give you power over all events that seem to have been given power over you.

Perception is a deception based on the belief in being separate and alone. In the reality of Love’s oneness, there is no “other” to perceive. The purpose of forgiveness is to clear away the deceptive perceptions that prevent us from recognizing we remain eternally in the oneness of God’s Love.

These perceptions take many forms. The process of waking up from the dream is quite simple. Forgive the perceptions and they will disappear. The peace and happiness of God’s Love returns to our awareness.

Today we continue on our journey of awakening as we commit to forgiving our perceptions and welcoming Love as our Reality.

Finding Our Home in Present Love

I seek a future different from the past.

From new perception of the world there comes a future very different from the past. ²The future now is recognized as but extension of the present. ³Past mistakes can cast no shadows on it, so that fear has lost its idols and its images, and being formless, it has no effects. ⁴Death will not claim the future now, for life is now its goal, and all the needed means are happily provided. ⁵Who can grieve or suffer when the present has been freed, extending its security and peace into a quiet future filled with joy?

Father, we were mistaken in the past, and choose to use the present to be free. ²Now do we leave the future in Your Hands, leaving behind our past mistakes, and sure that You will keep Your present promises, and guide the future in their holy light. The ego is always planning for the future, but always based upon past experiences. It does not want a future that is different from the past. Its plans are always with the intent of maintaining its seeming existence. But the past is not real; its plans for the future are equally unreal.

The reality of Love is always in the present. When we seek a future that extends the present, we are always extending Love, because only Love is real. Because of our alliance with the ego, we need help from outside its closed thought system. If we follow the Guide given us by our Father, we will be guided by the Light of Love.

This Guide knows only Love is real. It brings Its Light to our misperceptions to dispel them. In their place, we see Love that joins us with everyone and our Father. This future is different from the past because it extends the present. We choose to accept the lessons of our inner Teacher of Love. These lessons will lead us to our Home in the Love of our Father.

Remembering Our Unbroken Unity with God

Let me remember that my goal is God.

All that is needful is to train our minds to overlook all little senseless aims, and to remember that our goal is God. ²His memory is hidden in our minds, obscured but by our pointless little goals which offer nothing, and do not exist. ³Shall we continue to allow God’s grace to shine in unawareness, while the toys and trinkets of the world are sought instead? ⁴God is our only goal, our only Love. ⁵We have no aim but to remember Him.

Our goal is but to follow in the way that leads to You. ²We have no goal but this. ³What could we want but to remember You? ⁴What could we seek but our Identity? (A Course in Miracles, W-258. See also ACIM Lesson 258 Insights.)

Everyone in the world is seeking for Love. The ego offers “help” to find love. But the best it can offer is some form of specialness. But because the ego thought system always demands sacrifice to obtain specialness, it also fosters guilt. The ego’s direction never leads us to what we really seek. It does not know what Love is.

We have been given another Guide, Who is our bridge to the Love we seek. The Holy Spirit knows the way to God, the way to Love. If we are willing to step back from the ego’s lead and open our mind to the Holy Spirit, we will move toward our ultimate and only goal. We will find the Love we seek; we will find our true Identity.

As we set aside the ego’s illusions, we will learn that we are the Love we seek. In gratitude we accept His help today to remember our unbroken unity with God.

Our Opportunities to Bless the World

I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts.

Father, Your Son is perfect. ²When I think that I am hurt in any way, it is because I have forgotten who I am, and that I am as You created me. ³Your Thoughts can only bring me happiness. ⁴If ever I am sad or hurt or ill, I have forgotten what You think, and put my little meaningless ideas in place of where Your Thoughts belong, and where they are. ⁵I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts. ⁶The Thoughts I think with You can only bless. ⁷The Thoughts I think with You alone are true.

I will not hurt myself today. ²For I am far beyond all pain. ³My Father placed me safe in Heaven, watching over me. ⁴And I would not attack the Son He loves, for what He loves is also mine to love. (A Course in Miracles, W-281. See also ACIM Lesson 281 Insights.)

To see ourselves as a body is to place a limit on the Son of God. Our true Self shares God’s Love, strength and peace. His Will for us is perfect happiness. If we are not joyous, we are misperceiving the Self God created one with Him.

Today we choose to lay down our self-imposed limitations. They represent a false idea. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can forgive these false ideas and remember that we are blessed as the Son of God. Each time we forgive a false idea, we bring blessing to the world. Today offers opportunities to forgive. We dedicate this day to recognizing opportunities to bless the world.

How to Live in Happiness and Peace

If I accept that I am prisoner within a body, in a world in which all things that seem to live appear to die, then is my Father prisoner with me. ²And this do I believe, when I maintain the laws the world obeys must I obey; the frailties and the sins which I perceive are real, and cannot be escaped. ³If I am bound in any way, I do not know my Father nor my Self. ⁴And I am lost to all reality. ⁵For truth is free, and what is bound is not a part of truth.

Father, I ask for nothing but the truth. ²I have had many foolish thoughts about myself and my creation, and have brought a dream of fear into my mind. ³Today, I would not dream. ⁴I choose the way to You instead of madness and instead of fear. ⁵For truth is safe, and only love is sure. The ego does not want us to realize that all our pain and suffering, guilt and fear we bring upon ourselves. It is not God who condemns His Son to hell. It is our belief that we are separate, which aligns with the ego, that leads us to this experience. The truth that only Love is real is the release from hell.

Today we choose God’s plan for our release from the dream we have engaged in. He has given us the Holy Spirit in our mind to guide us through all our self-made stories to the certainty of Love’s safety. It is a journey of awakening to Love. With the Holy Spirit’s help we will live in peace and join in the joyous extension of eternal Love. We are grateful that we have this Guide to return to the awareness of our Home in Heaven.
