Sharing the Blessings of Love

The glory of my Father is my own.

Let not the truth about ourselves today be hidden by a false humility. ²Let us instead be thankful for the gifts our Father gave us. ³Can we see in those with whom He shares His glory any trace of sin and guilt? ⁴And can it be that we are not among them, when He loves His Son forever and with perfect constancy, knowing he is as He created him?

We thank You, Father, for the light that shines forever in us. ²And we honor it, because You share it with us. ³We are one, united in this light and one with You, at peace with all creation and ourselves. (A Course in Miracles, W-239. See also ACIM Lesson 239 Insights.)

Clouds of guilt and fear hide the Light of Love that is our true Self. We let our Light shine when we forgive our illusions that make us feel separate, alone and lacking Love. Today we welcome the Light within that shines upon all in gratitude and peace.

We accept the blessing Love brings us by extending It to our brothers in the world. By letting Love be our Guide, we let Love’s Light illuminate the dream and open our mind to awaken to the Love we are.

Welcoming Christ’s Love in the Present

This instant is the only time there is.

I have conceived of time in such a way that I defeat my aim. ²If I elect to reach past time to timelessness, I must change my perception of what time is for. ³Time’s purpose cannot be to keep the past and future one. ⁴The only interval in which I can be saved from time is now. ⁵For in this instant has forgiveness come to set me free. ⁶The birth of Christ is now, without a past or future. ⁷He has come to give His present blessing to the world, restoring it to timelessness and love. ⁸And love is ever-present, here and now.

Thanks for this instant, Father. ²It is now I am redeemed. ³This instant is the time You have appointed for Your Son’s release, and for salvation of the world in him. (A Course in Miracles, W-308. See also ACIM Lesson 308 Insights.)

Whenever our peace is disturbed, it is always caused by thoughts of the past or the future. We may feel guilty or upset about something that occurred in the past. We may wish that something happen in the future. Or we may worry about something might occur in the future. These thoughts block the present moment from our awareness.

In the present moment there is Love and nothing else. In the timelessness of now, there is no form, only the changeless Love that is our true Self, united with our Creator. This Love extends forever. It keeps us safely in It’s peace. It brings joy as It extends the eternal giving and receiving that is Love.

Today we pause frequently to step away from thoughts of past and future. We ask the Holy Spirit to help us experience the present as it Is. We welcome the Love of Christ that is now, everywhere and forever.

We Are Love and Nothing Else

Love created me like itself.

²I am in the likeness of my Creator. ³I cannot suffer, I cannot experience loss and I cannot die. ⁴I am not a body. ⁵I would recognize my reality today. ⁶I will worship no idols, nor raise my own self-concept to replace my Self. ⁷I am in the likeness of my Creator. ⁸Love created me like itself.

You might find these specific forms helpful in applying the idea:

²Let me not see an illusion of myself in this.
³As I look on this, let me remember my Creator.

The world we see represents our beliefs. We people it with figures that represent what we believe we are. The fear and anger, guilt and sadness that we experience all come from our beliefs. Yet these beliefs deny the reality that Love created us like Itself.

This is why it is helpful to remind ourselves to not see an illusion of ourself in the world. In truth, we are one Self. We share the same the same united, changeless Love That created us like Itself. If someone seems to do something that bothers us, we are perceiving an illusion. We are not seeing them truly.

As we remember this, we can ask for help to see past the illusion to the reality of Love. This is how we will learn that we are Love and nothing else.

Remembering We Are Love and Nothing Else

My only function is the one God gave me.

²I have no function but the one God gave me. ³This recognition releases me from all conflict, because it means I cannot have conflicting goals. ⁴With one purpose only, I am always certain what to do, what to say and what to think. ⁵All doubt must disappear as I acknowledge that my only function is the one God gave me.

My happiness and my function are one.

²All things that come from God are one. ³They come from Oneness, and must be received as one. ⁴Fulfilling my function is my happiness because both come from the same Source. ⁵And I must learn to recognize what makes me happy, if I would find happiness. God is one and His one Gift is Love, with all its attributes. As His extension of Love, our one function is to extend His Love. This is how we will experience Love’s happiness and peace. Thus fulfilling our function will bring us joy.

The things we seem to do in the world may bring temporary happiness. But because the world is an illusion, there is always a sense that what we do will not last. This is why the key to our happiness is only found in extending Love. Love has no form, yet it extends forever. It never diminishes nor is lost.

Today we invest in our wholeness by choosing to be loving. This is how we will remember we are Love and nothing else.

Answering Love’s Call

The Holy Spirit mediates between illusions and the truth. ²Since He must bridge the gap between reality and dreams, perception leads to knowledge through the grace that God has given Him, to be His gift to everyone who turns to Him for truth. ³Across the bridge that He provides are dreams all carried to the truth, to be dispelled before the light of knowledge. ⁴There are sights and sounds forever laid aside. ⁵And where they were perceived before, forgiveness has made possible perception’s tranquil end.

²The Holy Spirit understands the means you made, by which you would attain what is forever unattainable. ³And if you offer them to Him, He will employ the means you made for exile to restore your mind to where it truly is at home.

From knowledge, where He has been placed by God, the Holy Spirit calls to you, to let forgiveness rest upon your dreams, and be restored to sanity and peace of mind. ²Without forgiveness will your dreams remain to terrify you. ³And the memory of all your Father’s Love will not return to signify the end of dreams has come.

Accept your Father’s gift. ²It is a Call from Love to Love, that It be but Itself. ³The Holy Spirit is His gift, by which the quietness of Heaven is restored to God’s beloved Son. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.7.1;3:2–5:3. See also ACIM Lesson 281 Insights.)

Are we willing to answer Holy Spirit’s call? Are we willing to be happy and at peace? In every moment, we have the choice to accept these gifts. But in the dream, these gifts seem to be impossible. The chaos in the world covers the call of Love that would give us peace of mind and joy beyond description. Yet it only requires our willingness to answer the call to change the world we experience.

When we choose to offer all our judgments to the Holy Spirit, He will translate them into a means to awaken to the Love we are. This is our heart’s desire. Today we choose to answer the call and let Love guide us Home to the Heaven of God’s Love.

Remembering We Are Love

Spirit makes use of mind as means to find its Self expression. ²And the mind which serves the spirit is at peace and filled with joy. ³Its power comes from spirit, and it is fulfilling happily its function here. ⁴Yet mind can also see itself divorced from spirit, and perceive itself within a body it confuses with itself. ⁵Without its function then it has no peace, and happiness is alien to its thoughts.

Yet mind apart from spirit cannot think. ²It has denied its Source of strength, and sees itself as helpless, limited and weak. ³Dissociated from its function now, it thinks it is alone and separate, attacked by armies massed against itself and hiding in the body’s frail support. ⁴Now must it reconcile unlike with like, for this is what it thinks that it is for.

Your Self retains Its Thoughts [of God’s Love], and they remain within your mind and in the Mind of God. ²The Holy Spirit holds salvation in your mind, and offers it the way to peace. ³Salvation is a thought you share with God, because His Voice accepted it for you and answered in your name that it was done.

²Salvation comes from my one Self. ³Its Thoughts are mine to use.

⁴Then seek Its Thoughts, and claim them as your own. ⁵These are your own real thoughts you have denied… (A Course in Miracles, W-96.4:1–5:4;7:1-3;9:2-5. See also ACIM Lesson 96 Insights.)

In the dream, the thoughts we are aware of are not real. They lack the extension of Love, which is all of Reality. The body is the ego’s means to offer its own mindless thoughts. Because the ego has denied Love, its thoughts cannot be real, yet our belief in them makes them real to us. It is this belief from which we must be saved.

God has given us the Holy Spirit in our mind to be a bridge between our unreal mindless thoughts and our real Thoughts, which extend only Love. When we accept His help, we find peace because we remember we are Love and nothing else. We learn to overlook the ego’s images and accept only Love’s presence in our mind. As we accept Love, we naturally give It, because that is Love’s function.

Today we choose to accept the Help we have been given and learn that we are Love.

The Key to a Happy Life

This is the lesson God would have you learn: There is a way to look on everything that lets it be to you another step to Him, and to salvation of the world. ²To all that speaks of terror, answer thus:

³I will forgive, and this will disappear.

⁴To every apprehension, every care and every form of suffering, repeat these selfsame words. ⁵And then you hold the key that opens Heaven’s gate, and brings the Love of God the Father down to earth at last, to raise it up to Heaven. ⁶God will take this final step Himself. ⁷Do not deny the little steps He asks you take to Him. A happy life is a forgiving life. Unhappiness is always the effect of judgment. Any judgments we make on our own are based upon the false premise that we have a true basis from which to judge.

Only the Holy Spirit judges truly. His judgment is very simple. He sees everything as true or false, real or unreal. What is unreal is completely overlooked and dismissed. The reality that remains is only God’s Love. It brings with it Love’s attributes of peace and happiness.

We turn over all our judgments to Him and let Him show us the truth beyond the dream, the Love beyond the images of the world. We are grateful that we have His help to awaken from the dream that has kept us unaware of the Love we are.
