Finding Our Real Thoughts of Love

There is no relationship between what is real and what you think is real. Nothing that you think are your real thoughts resemble your real thoughts in any respect. Nothing that you think you see bears any resemblance to what vision will show you.

You think with the Mind of God. Therefore you share your thoughts with Him, as He shares His with you. They are the same thoughts, because they are thought by the same Mind. To share is to make alike, or to make one. Nor do the thoughts you think with the Mind of God leave your mind, because thoughts do not leave their source. Therefore, your [real] thoughts are in the Mind of God, as you are. They are in your mind as well, where He is. As you are part of His Mind, so are your thoughts part of His Mind.

We will not let the thoughts of the world hold us back. We will not let the beliefs of the world tell us that what God would have us do is impossible. Instead, we will try to recognize that only what God would have us do is possible.

…tell yourself gently:

My real thoughts are in my mind. I would like to find them.

If our real Thoughts are only the Thoughts we share with God, then our real Thoughts must be Thoughts of Love and nothing else. While we believe the world we see is real, we are unaware of the loving Thoughts we share with God.

Because of our true Self’s unbreakable unity with the Mind of Love, we are never without Love. Yet the world seems to be a place where Love is hard to find. Most of us are consciously or unconsciously seeking Love which cannot be found in the ego’s thought system. The ego’s dictates will always direct us to look where Love cannot be found. At best it offers temporary fixes with substitutes for Love that provide only fleeting satisfaction.

The loving Thoughts of our true Self remain with us. To find them, we need to pause and step back from the ego’s chatter. As we let peace come forward, we find the Thoughts of Love which guide us to be Love’s messengers in the world. We reflect Love in the world through kindness, helpfulness, appreciation and forgiveness. We see our brother’s through the inner vision of Love, which reminds us of our unity with the one Self of all our brothers in the Mind of God. Our experience of the world is transformed.

Accepting a Transformed Vision of the World

You see the flesh or recognize the spirit. There is no compromise between the two. If one is real the other must be false, for what is real denies its opposite.

Salvation does not ask that you behold the spirit and perceive the body not. It merely asks that this should be your choice.

You who believe that you can choose to see the Son of God as you would have him be, forget not that no concept of yourself will stand against the truth of what you are. Undoing truth would be impossible. But concepts are not difficult to change. One vision, clearly seen, that does not fit the picture as it was perceived before will change the world for eyes that learn to see, because the concept of the self has changed.

Are you invulnerable? Then the world is harmless in your sight. Do you forgive? Then is the world forgiving, for you have forgiven it its trespasses, and so it looks on you with eyes that see as yours. Are you a body? So is all the world perceived as treacherous, and out to kill. Are you a spirit, deathless, and without the promise of corruption and the stain of sin upon you? So the world is seen as stable, fully worthy of your trust; a happy place to rest in for a while, where nothing need be feared, but only loved. Who is unwelcome to the kind in heart? The practice of forgiveness progressively leads to increasing awareness of the Spirit that is our true Self. It diminishes our attraction to separation and specialness. As the Reality of Love is accepted, the daily experience of conflict, fear and guilt is replaced by increasing peace, happiness, gratitude and the free flow of Love to the truth of everyone’s being.

Eventually everyone reaches the point when dissatisfaction with the world we experience becomes intolerable. We seek a better way. Forgiveness is the answer to that search. We become open to another way of seeing the world. We begin to use our perceptions of the world as opportunities for mind healing. We are willing to ask for help to see with the eyes of Love instead of the body’s eyes, which were made to deny Love.

Every moment becomes an opportunity to choose once again; to choose our true Identity and see the Love that is the only Reality. We cannot make this choice with the reasoning of the world. The choice becomes clear when we accept Christ’s Vision in our mind to see the presence of Love’s innocence and peace beyond the appearances of the world. It is this transformed vision that heals and reminds us we have not left the safety and comfort of our Home in God.

Letting Love Replace Fear in Our Mind

Forgiveness lets me know that minds are joined.

Forgiveness is the means appointed for perception’s ending. Knowledge is restored after perception first is changed, and then gives way entirely to what remains forever past its highest reach. For sights and sounds, at best, can serve but to recall the memory that lies beyond them all. Forgiveness sweeps away distortions, and opens the hidden altar to the truth. Its lilies shine into the mind, and call it to return and look within, to find what it has vainly sought without. For here, and only here, is peace of mind restored, for this the dwelling place of God Himself.

In quiet may forgiveness wipe away my dreams of separation and of sin. Then let me, Father, look within, and find Your promise of my sinlessness is kept; Your Word remains unchanged within my mind, Your Love is still abiding in my heart. Forgiveness is the key to peace of mind. It clears the way for Love’s perception of unity and innocence instead of division and guilt. Perception of conflict and lack of Love are founded upon the mistaken belief in being separate and alone. This belief could never be true but it hides truth from our awareness.

Each time our peace is disturbed to any extent, even a sigh of frustration, we have let this mistaken belief dominate our mind. It blinds us from seeing the Light of Love. Now is the time to take the blindfold off.

The practice of being mindful to recognize disturbances to our peace of mind is a key step toward forgiveness. Unconscious defenses stand as barriers against awareness of Love’s presence. We need to interrupt the trance of mindlessly following the ego’s dictates.

Through mindfulness we can take the next step of offering our perception to the Holy Spirit for His purification. His vision will show us the truth beyond the false perception. What stood as a barrier becomes a path of Light to the limitless peace God Wills for us.

Today is a day of opportunity to move forward on the path of healing with our Mighty Companion guiding us along the way. It will be a day of increasing happiness and peace.

Answering the Call for Forgiveness

I feel the Love of God within me now.

There is a light in you the world can not perceive. And with its eyes you will not see this light, for you are blinded by the world. Yet you have eyes to see it. It is there for you to look upon. It was not placed in you to be kept hidden from your sight. This light is a reflection of the thought we practice now. To feel the Love of God within you is to see the world anew, shining in innocence, alive with hope, and blessed with perfect charity and love.

This is the world the Love of God reveals. …A world in which forgiveness shines on everything, and peace offers its gentle light to eve­ryone, is inconceivable to those who see a world of hatred rising from attack, poised to avenge, to murder and destroy.

Yet is the world of hatred equally unseen and inconceivable to those who feel God’s Love in them. Their world reflects the qui­etness and peace that shines in them; the gentleness and inno­cence they see surrounding them; the joy with which they look out from the endless wells of joy within. What they have felt in them they look upon, and see its sure reflection everywhere.

What kind of world are we seeing? If we are seeing a world of danger, conflict and guilt, we are seeing the projection of our unforgiving mind. Only a mind convinced that separation is real could see such a world. The fact that we see this world is our own call for forgiveness. It reflects our yearning to remember the eternal Love of our true Self.

If we answer this call with forgiveness of the belief that we are separate and alone, apart from Love, we open to our true Mind, one with the Mind of Love. The specific need for forgiveness reflected in our perception can be the focus of our forgiveness.

The practice of bringing that perception to the Holy Spirit, with willingness to receive His perception in place of ours, brings healing to our mind. This practice leads to full forgiveness of our belief in separation. It leads to acceptance of the reality of Love’s innocence and peace that our true Self shares with God. We want to see the world of mercy and of Love, so we dedicate today to this practice.

Listen for the Voice for Love

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of joy. He is the Call to return with which God blessed the minds of His separated Sons.

This Call is so strong that the ego always dissolves at Its sound. …The Holy Spirit is in you in a very literal sense. His is the Voice that calls you back to where you were before and will be again. It is possible even in this world to hear only that Voice and no other. It takes effort and great willingness to learn.

The Voice of the Holy Spirit does not command, because It is incapable of arrogance. It does not demand, because It does not seek control. It does not overcome, because It does not attack. It merely reminds. It is compelling only because of what It reminds you of. It brings to your mind the other way, remaining quiet even in the midst of the turmoil you may make. The Voice for God is always quiet, because It speaks of peace. Peace is stronger than war because it heals.

The Holy Spirit is your Guide in choosing. He is in the part of your mind that always speaks for the right choice, because He speaks for God. He is your remaining communication with God, which you can interrupt but cannot destroy.

Everyone is seeking for Love, for the world was made to be loveless. We yearn to remember Love, to experience Its joy and peace. The best the world can offer is substitutes that can temporarily comfort but never satisfy.

God’s Voice is the answer to our call for Love. It reminds us of the Love we are, have been and will forever be. That is why It is a call to joy and a call to peace. This Voice is always present in our mind, quietly offering an alternative to the ego’s unsatisfying substitutes for Love. The ego seems to speak louder only because we have convinced ourselves that we want specialness, to stand out from the crowd, to be different. But this wish leaves us feeling weak, for we have denied the power of Love. It leaves us feeling lonely, for we have denied our unity with the Love of God.

Everyone will ultimately reach the point of willingness to quiet their minds and open to hearing another Voice. This Voice is ever present, ready to guide us past the images of the world to see the Light of Love that shines forever within their Mind Which remains in the Mind of Love.

Today we remind ourselves to listen for the Voice that guides us back to Love.

Awakening to Love’s Heaven

The Thought of God created you. It left you not, nor have you ever been apart from it an instant. It belongs to you. By it you live. It is your Source of life, holding you one with it, and every­thing is one with you because it left you not. The Thought of God protects you, cares for you, makes soft your resting place and smooth your way, lighting your mind with happiness and love. Eternity and everlasting life shine in your mind, because the Thought of God has left you not, and still abides with you.

Deny not Heaven. It is yours today, but for the asking.

Ask with desire. You need not be sure that you request the only thing you want. But when you have received, you will be sure you have the treasure you have always sought. What would you then exchange for it? What would induce you now to let it fade away from your ecstatic vision? For this sight proves that you have exchanged your blindness for the seeing eyes of Christ; your mind has come to lay aside denial, and accept the Thought of God as your inheritance. Because God is only Love, His Thought is Love. The Thought of Love extends Love, remaining one with Its Source. Love is our Source, our safety, our peace and happiness. Love is our true Nature, the one Self Love created as Itself.

Nothing but Love exists. A world where Love is denied is nothing more than a dream, a nightmare filled with conflict, loss, loneliness, lack, fear and guilt. This only seems to be real in a dream that denies Love. Yet the Love that is our inheritance remains with us eternally. We can be unaware of It, but we cannot lose It. We need only awaken from the dream of lovelessness to know our true Self.

From within the dream, its reality seems undeniable. But we have Help to teach us to recognize the dream for what it is. We need to call upon the Voice of Love, forever in our mind, for help to learn the unreality of the dream.

As we learn Love’s lessons, the denial of Love is weakened and the Light of Love shines more brightly in our mind. Our happiness increases. Conflict diminishes and our mind is increasingly at peace. We are awakening to our Home in Love’s Heaven.

Resting in the Peace of the Eternal Now

I place the future in the Hands of God.

Accept today’s idea, and you have passed all anxiety, all pits of hell, all blackness of depression, thoughts of sin [separation, lack of Love], and devastation brought about by guilt. Accept today’s idea, and you have re­leased the world from all imprisonment by loosening the heavy chains that locked the door to freedom on it. You are saved, and your salvation thus becomes the gift you give the world, because you have received.

In no one instant is depression felt, or pain experienced or loss perceived. In no one instant sorrow can be set upon a throne, and worshipped faithfully. In no one instant can one even die. And so each instant given unto God in passing, with the next one given Him already, is a time of your release from sadness, pain and even death itself.

What worry can beset the one who gives his future to the lov­ing Hands of God? What can he suffer? What can cause him pain, or bring experience of loss to him? What can he fear? And what can he regard except with love? For he who has escaped all fear of future pain has found his way to present peace, and certainty of care the world can never threaten. He is sure that his perception may be faulty, but will never lack correction. He is free to choose again when he has been deceived; to change his mind when he has made mistakes. The reality of Love’s eternal oneness can only be experienced when we have not covered the present moment with images from our imagined past. The ego’s scheme to maintain itself is to keep a library of past experiences which it uses to project a future like the past. It skips over the present, keeping the peace, safety and happiness of the eternal now from our awareness. Thus it denies the present and future of the peace, joy and Love the God wills for us.

To place the future in the Hands of God is to rest in His Eternal Love, perfectly safe, happy, abundantly loved and loving. This is our Home. When we rest in Him, we serve as His messengers to bring Love’s healing to the world. We dedicate this day to remembering that our true future is in the loving Hand’s of God.
