Seeing with the Mind of God in Us

God is in everything I see because God is in my mind.

The idea for today is the springboard for vision. ²From this idea will the world open up before you, and you will look upon it and see in it what you have never seen before. ³Nor will what you saw before be even faintly visible to you.

Today we are trying to use a new kind of “projection.” ²We are not attempting to get rid of what we do not like by seeing it outside. ³Instead, we are trying to see in the world what is in our minds, and what we want to recognize is there. ⁴Thus, we are trying to join with what we see, rather than keeping it apart from us. ⁵That is the fundamental difference between vision and the way you see.

Real vision is not only unlimited by space and distance, but it does not depend on the body’s eyes at all. ²The mind is its only source. (A Course in Miracles, W-30.1–2;5:1-2. See also ACIM Lesson 30 Insights.)

It is helpful to remember that real vision comes from the mind. It does not use the body’s eyes at all. This difference makes real vision the key to forgiveness. The body’s eyes deceive. They see only illusions. This way of seeing makes illusions seem real. This seeming reality makes illusions unforgivable.

But when we accept the vision that comes from God in our mind, illusions are overlooked. This vision sees only Reality. It sees the oneness of Love and joins with that Love in everyone, everything, everywhere.

When this vision is accepted wholly, forgiveness is natural. It sees that nothing has happened to change the Son of God. It sees the Love we are as complete and eternally united with our Creator. It acknowledges that God is in our mind. Today we are vigilant to recognize His Presence and know that we are Love.

We Honor God’s Son as Love

In this season (Christmas) which celebrates the birth of holiness into this world, join with me who decided for holiness for you.

Holy child of God, when will you learn that only holiness can content you and give you peace? ²Remember that you learn not for yourself alone, no more than I did. ³It is because I learned for you that you can learn of me. ⁴I would but teach you what is yours, so that together we can replace the shabby littleness that binds the host of God to guilt and weakness with the glad awareness of the glory that is in him. ⁵My birth in you is your awakening to grandeur. ⁶Welcome me not into a manger, but into the altar to holiness, where holiness abides in perfect peace. ⁷My Kingdom is not of this world because it is in you. ⁸And you are of your Father. ⁹Let us join in honoring you, who must remain forever beyond littleness.

Call forth in everyone only the remembrance of God, and of the Heaven that is in him. ²For where you would have your brother be, there will you think you are. (A Course in Miracles, T-15.III.7:1;9;12:1-2. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

As God’s extension, we all carry His Love in us. His Love unites us with Himself and every brother. Through forgiveness of our dreams of separation and littleness, we awaken to the Christ within. Christ is born again as we remember we are Love and nothing else. In this remembrance we recognize our unity with every brother.

We are truly not different. All that is real in each of us dwells in the Heaven of God’s Love. We would be messengers of Love today. Thus we honor God’s Son.

We Are at Home in God’s Love

Creation’s freedom promises my own.

The end of dreams is promised me, because God’s Son is not abandoned by His Love. ²Only in dreams is there a time when he appears to be in prison, and awaits a future freedom, if it be at all. ³Yet in reality his dreams are gone, with truth established in their place. ⁴And now is freedom his already. ⁵Should I wait in chains which have been severed for release, when God is offering me freedom now?

I will accept Your promises today, and give my faith to them. ²My Father loves the Son Whom He created as His Own. ³Would You withhold the gifts You gave to me? (A Course in Miracles, W-279. See also ACIM Lesson 279 Insights.)

We are Love’s creation, forever like Itself. This creation comes with a promise that What we are in truth will never change. We need to remember Who we are and where we are. With this recognition, we remember we are safe; we are Love, loved and loving. Perception of any other identity is only a dream that can never be real.

Today as we look upon any brother, we remind ourselves that he is one with us in Love. We see him as Love. We see him as perfectly safe in the strength of Love’s oneness. And with that vision, we are reminded that we share that strength and Love. We are all at Home in God’s Love.

We Live Forever in Love

The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness.

²My forgiveness is the means by which the light of the world finds expression through me. ³My forgiveness is the means by which I become aware of the light of the world in me. ⁴My forgiveness is the means by which the world is healed, together with myself. ⁵Let me, then, forgive the world, that it may be healed along with me.

Suggestions for specific forms for applying this idea are:

²Let peace extend from my mind to yours, [name].
³I share the light of the world with you, [name].
⁴Through my forgiveness I can see this as it is. (A Course in Miracles, W-82.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 82 Insights.)

Love is the Light of the world. It does not condemn nor judge if anyone qualifies to receive It. Love extends equally to all. Our unforgiveness only makes us unaware of Love’s universal presence.

Our true Self is the Light of the world. This Light cannot be extinguished. We let our Light shine by letting go of fear and guilt.

Today we welcome the Holy Spirit’s help to heal our fear-based thoughts. With His help, we see the Love that is our brother. We recognize that any appearance which seems to trigger guilt or defense is not real. We are grateful that we have Help to accept the truth that we dwell in Love eternally.

The Light of Heaven Is Our Home

Today the lights of Heaven bend to you, to shine upon your eyelids as you rest beyond the world of darkness. ²Here is light your eyes can not behold. ³And yet your mind can see it plainly, and can understand. ⁴A day of grace is given you today, and we give thanks. ⁵This day we realize that what you feared to lose was only [the idea of] loss.

Now do we understand there is no loss. ²For we have seen its opposite at last, and we are grateful that the choice is made. ³Remember your decision hourly, and take a moment to confirm your choice by laying by whatever thoughts you have, and dwelling briefly only upon this:

⁴The world I see holds nothing that I want.
⁵Beyond this world there is a world I want. (A Course in Miracles, W-129.8:1–9:5. See also ACIM Lesson 129 Insights.)

We do not need to strive for anything. Only in this dream does lack seem possible. But we dwell in the House of God where Love is everything. It is already ours. To know this fact we need to be vigilant of our thoughts, that we keep them focused on the truth of What we are.

In the world we do want and seek for the peace and Love of God, only because we have denied that it is ours now. With vigilance, we can recognize the mistaken beliefs which accept that lack as real. We call upon the Holy Spirit to release these thoughts so that we may recognize that we already have everything we want in truth.

With this practice the importance we place upon this world fades. Our attention dwells increasingly on the world beyond this dream. We recognize the Light of Heaven as our Home.

Bringing the Light of Love to All

Hear, holy Son of God, your Father speak. ²His Voice would give to you His holy Word, to spread across the world the tidings of salvation and the holy time of peace. ³We gather at the throne of God today, the quiet place within the mind where He abides forever, in the holiness that He created and will never leave.

He has not waited until you return your mind to Him to give His Word to you. ²He has not hid Himself from you, while you have wandered off a little while from Him. ³He does not cherish the illusions which you hold about yourself. ⁴He knows His Son, and wills that he remain as part of Him regardless of his dreams; regardless of his madness that his will is not his own.

Today He speaks to you. ²His Voice awaits your silence, for His Word can not be heard until your mind is quiet for a while, and meaningless desires have been stilled. ³Await His Word in quiet. ⁴There is peace within you to be called upon today, to help make ready your most holy mind to hear the Voice for its Creator speak.

²He speaks from nearer than your heart to you. ³His Voice is closer than your hand. ⁴His Love is everything you are and that He is; the same as you, and you the same as He. (W-125.4-6;7:2-4)

We have not lost the path of return to our Home in Heaven. God has not hidden Himself from His Son. But we have hidden Him from our awareness in the dream of separation. We have the means to awaken from the dream and remember that we remain as God created His Son.

We need to pause and let our minds be quiet. The peace of God is in us and available when we are willing to step back from the world’s activity. We we let ourselves settle into this peace, His Voice will teach us to see the presence of Love everywhere.

Our true Identity is Love. With our mind at peace, we know the direction that will lead us Home. We see the Love that is our brother and know It as our own. We are channels of God’s Love. We experience the joy of joining in His Love to let the Light of Love bring Its blessing to everyone.

Welcoming Our Unity in Love

We have a mission here. ²We did not come to reinforce the madness that we once believed in. ³Let us not forget the goal that we accepted. ⁴It is more than just our happiness alone we came to gain. ⁵What we accept as what we are proclaims what everyone must be, along with us. ⁶Fail not your brothers, or you fail yourself. ⁷Look lovingly on them, that they may know that they are part of you, and you of them.

This does Atonement teach, and demonstrates the Oneness of God’s Son is unassailed by his belief he knows not what he is. ²Today accept Atonement, not to change reality, but merely to accept the truth about yourself, and go your way rejoicing in the endless Love of God. ³It is but this that we are asked to do. ⁴It is but this that we will do today.

⁴We have not lost the knowledge that God gave to us when He created us like Him. ⁵We can remember it for everyone, for in creation are all minds as one. ⁶And in our memory is the recall how dear our brothers are to us in truth, how much a part of us is every mind, how faithful they have really been to us, and how our Father’s Love contains them all. (A Course in Miracles, W-139.9–10;11:4-6)

It’s good news to know that no matter how far we wander in dreams of being alone and separate, we remain the Love that created us one with Itself. Our mission now is to remember that we are Love and nothing else.

This mission leads us to awaken from the hell we have made to the joy of Heaven. And our Father welcomes us Home. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see our brothers as He sees them. We want to see the Love every brother is.

As we forgive our mistaken perceptions, the truth in our brothers reminds us of our true Identity. Our mind rests naturally in peace. We respond with Love to every brother. We naturally dismiss perceptions that do not align with the Reality of Love. We know we are safe. Each day brings gratitude to our hearts as we welcome our unity in Love.
