God’s Gift of His Love Is Eternal

My sinlessness protects me from all harm.

My sinlessness ensures me perfect peace, eternal safety, everlasting love, freedom forever from all thought of loss; complete deliverance from suffering. ²And only happiness can be my state, for only happiness is given me. ³What must I do to know all this is mine? ⁴I must accept Atonement for myself, and nothing more. ⁵God has already done all things that need be done. ⁶And I must learn I need do nothing of myself, for I need but accept my Self, my sinlessness, created for me, now already mine, to feel God’s Love protecting me from harm, to understand my Father loves His Son; to know I am the Son my Father loves.

You Who created me in sinlessness are not mistaken about what I am. ²I was mistaken when I thought I sinned, but I accept Atonement for myself. ³Father, my dream is ended now. ⁴Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-337. See also ACIM Lesson 337 Insights.)

The dream of separation requires constant maintenance. Our time in the dream is cluttered with myriad activities requiring physical or mental activity. This is the doing we must be willing to stop. This is what the Course means when it says we need do nothing. As this lesson points out, all that ever needed to be done was done by God when He created His Son.

The purpose of what the ego directs us to do is to maintain the veil of separation. The ego is afraid of peace. It directs us on countless searches for nothingness in a form it tells us has value. We seek for special friendships, special trinkets, special possessions and celebrate special times in the life of the body. These are all searches to misdirect our attention away from our Source of happiness.

The practice of quieting our minds to let the peace of God within come forth is how we let go of our busy doing. This makes way for us to accept what God has already done. In this acceptance we remember the Love He gave us eternally. We remember our innocence because no harm can come from the gift of Love from God. Our sinlessness is an attribute of Love’s eternal oneness. In this changelessness, we are safe.
