God’s Plan Brings Us Happiness

The ego’s plan for salvation centers around holding grievances.

Holding grievances is the opposite of God’s plan
for salvation. And only His plan will work.

Ask Him very specifically:

What would You have me do?
Where would You have me go?
What would You have me say, and to whom?

Give Him full charge of the rest of the practice period, and let Him tell you what needs to be done by you in His plan for your salvation. He will answer in proportion to your willingness to hear His Voice. Refuse not to hear. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 71, W-pI.71.2:1;10:3-4;9:2-8. See also ACIM Lesson 71 Insights.)

Since God’s Will for us is perfect happiness, His plan for our salvation must bring happiness. Learning that the ego’s plan is the opposite of God’s plan, the ego’s plan must lead to sadness and depression. Holding the ego’s focus on grievances guarantees at the very least, a level of sadness and ultimately a deep level of depression, no matter how well we try to hide it. The depression comes from the fact that the ego’s plan for our salvation is intended not to work, in keeping with its doctrine, “Seek and do not find.”

As we ask God’s guidance for what to do, where to go, what to say and to whom, we are lovingly and gently led to let go of our grievances. God’s guidance will always lead us to see past the false images of the world to the Love in our brothers and to extend God’s Love to all. This is how we find happiness. This is how we remember that we remain Love as Love created us.
