Gratitude for Our Identity as Love

Love, which created me, is what I am.

I seek my own Identity, and find It in these words: “Love, which created me, is what I am.” ²Now need I seek no more. ³Love has prevailed. ⁴So still It waited for my coming home, that I will turn away no longer from the holy face of Christ. ⁵And what I look upon attests the truth of the Identity I sought to lose, but which my Father has kept safe for me.

Father, my thanks to You for what I am; for keeping my Identity untouched and sinless, in the midst of all the thoughts of sin my foolish mind made up. ²And thanks to You for saving me from them. ³Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-229. See also ACIM Lesson 229 Insights.)

In this world everyone searches for Love in some form. But we are searching only because we have denied What we are. The illusionary substitutes we have made for Love have introduced belief in differences and conflict into our minds. With this belief comes fear and guilt, for the differences hide the Love we are from our awareness. We are not different from each other. We are one with every brother in the Love of God.

Today we call upon the Love we are to guide our thoughts and heal our mistaken beliefs. Mistakes are healed when we forgive our wish to be special and different. No longer do we accept a false identity. As we accept the Love we are, we live in God’s joy and peace. We know we are safe and innocent. No harm can come to our Identity as Love’s creation. What is changeless cannot suffer harm.
