I Don’t Have to Keep Doing This

Robert:
I had a dream last night in which I was with some other people looking at some bodies on the ground covered with blankets. I was starting to look for more bodies and then I thought to myself, “I don’t have to keep doing this.” That is when I woke up.

This was a very powerful message to me, reminding me that I don’t have to keep making a world of separation and death. The simple answer for every perceived problem is, “I don’t have to keep doing this.” The way I stop attempting to make the world real is to take these images and perceptions willingly to the Holy Spirit. Remembering, “I don’t have to keep doing this,” opens my mind to the Holy Spirit’s healing perception. With His help I forgive or let go of the mistaken beliefs that hold the seeming reality of the world in place.

As A Course in Miracles says: “Forgiveness removes only the untrue, lifting the shadows from the world and carrying it, safe and sure within its gentleness, to the bright world of new and clean perception. There is your purpose now. And it is there that peace awaits you.” (T-18.IX.14:3-5)

Mary:
When Robert told me about his dream, and the message, “I don’t have to keep doing this,” I really resonated with it. I told him, “Let’s practice this together in the way we perceive the world during each day.” This message was very clear that we don’t have to keep perceiving separation. We can lay all false perceptions down now, if we are willing. We can support each other in this holy purpose of letting go of the idea of separation in every circumstance.

As we are more willing join with every brother in this one purpose, the Light of truth shines through more clearly than ever. We don’t have to keep maintaining the separation game. We can forgive it and lay it down for good. The truth waits eagerly for our willingness to return to our innate Oneness. Our only true purpose is to practice this forgiveness today by remembering, “I don’t have to keep doing this.”
