Letting Love Guide Our Doing

God, being Love, is also happiness.

²Let me remember love is happiness, and nothing else brings joy. ³And so I choose to entertain no substitutes for love.

I seek but what belongs to me in truth.

²Love is my heritage, and with it joy. ³These are the gifts my Father gave to me. ⁴I would accept all that is mine in truth. (A Course in Miracles, W-117.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 117 Insights.)

The ego wants to own or have more of something no one else can have. This wish is the denial of God’s Love because He gives His Love equally to all.

God has already given us our full inheritance of all of His Love. But we are denying our inheritance when we accept the ego as our guide. We can recover our inheritance by letting the Holy Spirit correct our misperceptions, if we are willing.

The practice of forgiveness is the practice of being willing to let our perceptions be corrected. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can see beyond the ego’s images to the eternal presence of Love. We can remember that we are joined in the eternal extension of God’s Love. In this joining we share His joy.

Today will be a joyful day as we let Love guide our thoughts, words and actions. And we will walk the day in gratitude for the blessing of God’s Love.
