Opening Our Mind to Receive God’s Love

Truth will correct all errors in my mind.

²I am mistaken when I think I can be hurt in any way. ³I am God’s Son, whose Self rests safely in the Mind of God.

To give and to receive are one in truth.

²I will forgive all things today, that I may learn how to accept the truth in me, and come to recognize my sinlessness. (A Course in Miracles, W-119.1:1–2:2. See also ACIM Lesson 119 Insights.)

If the oneness of Love is all that is real, our minds must deny the truth in order for individuality to seem real. This is the ego’s goal in order to defend its belief in separation. Despite all its efforts, the ego cannot change reality. The most it can do is make up a dream of separation which hides the presence of Love. When we identify with the ego, we believe its dream is our reality.

Forgiveness is the key to waking up from the ego’s painful and fearful dream. Because we have accepted the ego’s belief system, we need the Holy Spirit to help us let go of our errors. He is the bridge between the ego’s dream and our reality in the oneness of God’s Love.

As we let Him show us Love’s Reality beyond the images in the dream, we learn to overlook the ego’s lies and focus instead on the Love that is our real Identity. As we forgive our mistaken perceptions, we receive the blessing of Love’s peace and joy. We remember our Home in the Heaven of God’s Love.
