Our Safety Lies in the Love We Are

Love is one. It has no separate parts and no degrees; no kinds nor levels, no divergencies and no distinctions. It is like itself, unchanged throughout. It never alters with a person or a circumstance. It is the Heart of God, and also of His Son.

Love cannot judge. As it is one itself, it looks on all as one. Its meaning lies in oneness. And it must elude the mind that thinks of it as partial or in part. There is no love but God’s, and all of love is His. There is no other principle that rules where love is not. Love is a law without an opposite. Its wholeness is the power holding everything as one, the link between the Father and the Son which holds Them both forever as the same.

Love’s meaning is your own, and shared by God Himself. For what you are is what He is. There is no love but His, and what He is, is everything there is. There is no limit placed upon Himself, and so are you unlimited as well. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 127, W-pI.127.1:3-7;3;4:2-5. See also ACIM Lesson 127 Insights.)

The uniformity and limitlessness of Love binds us to the certainty of our safety in God. What He is, we are, for God has given all of Himself to His Creation. Nothing else exists, for only Love is real.

When we experience fear, we are responding to an apparition, made by the ego, which we believe is real. We are responding to a false belief. Beyond this belief, God’s Voice waits on our willingness to hear Him teach us of our perfect safety in God’s Love.

Today let us use every perception of fear as a reminder to turn our attention to the Holy Spirit and open our minds to His vision, which looks past the ego’s apparitions to the certainty of God’s Love. Let Him comfort us as He reminds us of our unity in Love, where harm is impossible. Together we awaken to the Love we are eternally.
