Receiving the Help That Is Given Us

We are eternally immersed in God’s peace and joy. If we are not supremely happy, we must be following the ego’s advice which will always direct us to seek and not find the happiness we really want. The best the ego can offer is empty substitutes that may give the appearance of happiness but that have no substance and will not last.

If we are not having a happy day, we can safely conclude that there must be a better way. To see that better way, we start by acknowledging to ourselves that what we are experiencing is not what we want. We must be seeking in the wrong direction.

When we ask for help with this increased willingness, we are open to receive the Help that is given us. It is easier to step aside from insistence on our idea of what will make us happy because it is clear that it has not worked. Now we can receive Holy Spirit’s vision that will show us how to accept God’s gift of perfect happiness. Now we are willing to accept God’s World of Love in place of the ego’s world of fear.

Today we practice being open to this change in perception.
