Remembering Our True Identity

Love, which created me, is what I am.

I seek my own Identity, and find It in these words: “Love, which created me, is what I am.” ²Now need I seek no more. ³Love has prevailed. ⁴So still It waited for my coming home, that I will turn away no longer from the holy face of Christ. ⁵And what I look upon attests the truth of the Identity I sought to lose, but which my Father has kept safe for me.

Father, my thanks to You for what I am; for keeping my Identity untouched and sinless, in the midst of all the thoughts of sin my foolish mind made up. ²And thanks to You for saving me from them. ³Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-229. See also ACIM Lesson 229 Insights.)

The changelessness of God has kept our true Self unchanged throughout our dream of time. Time changes but what is eternal is changeless. The grace of God maintained an unbreakable connection with His Son as an extension of Himself.

Our unchangeable Identity keeps us safe in the Love of God. As His extension, our function is to extend That Love. We know we have It by giving the Love we have received.

In the dream of separation, our function is to forgive the mistaken thoughts that interfer with the continuous flow of Love. This is how we will remember our Identity as Love.
