Remembering the Strength of God in Us

Robert:
What matters and what doesn’t matter? What’s my job and what is not my job? What is truly helpful? These are questions I cannot answer on my own. It is impossible from the perspective of being on my own to see the full range of effects of what I think and do. That is why it is not my job to judge or have an opinion about anything. My primary job in all things is to let Holy Spirit be my Guide, remembering that of myself alone, I know nothing.

Sometimes it seems difficult to feel that I am receiving clear direction from Holy Spirit. This happens because I have not fully let go of my own agenda, my own ideas about what a thing or circumstance means. Like everyone in this world, I carry unconscious attitudes and beliefs imbedded in the idea of separation that influence my perception and they interfere with my reception of Holy Spirit’s guidance. That is why it is essential that I continue the daily practice of letting go of the past, of stepping back and letting Holy Spirit be my Interpreter in every moment.

I am not perfect in this practice, but I do see, by the increasing peace and happiness I experience, that I am getting better at letting go and following. It teaches me that it is worth the effort. In moments where uncertainty seems bigger, the recognition of how far I have come is a motivator to practice still more. I have seen the results of making decisions on my own, and they are often not pretty. I have seen the results of making decisions with Holy Spirit, and they are often miraculous and bring happiness and peace to many. So today, like every day, is another opportunity to practice stepping back and letting Holy Spirit lead the way.

Mary:
This morning Holy Spirit led us to the A Course in Miracles Workbook lesson titled, “Heaven is the decision I must make.” At the moment I turned to it, I did not feel like I was in Heaven. I felt a sadness because it seemed that there was not enough money to cover the demands of the hour. I felt helpless and afraid that there would not be enough to cover all the bills that are coming up. I see now that this is the perfect lesson to bring me to a change of mind. Heaven is the decision I must make.

This decision lifts me above the battleground of the ego’s constant sad stories of fear and scarcity. This lesson brings me to a change of mind where I remember once again that I am in Heaven, dreaming of being on a distant shore where there are differences and conflicting ideas.

It is only the Holy Spirit in my mind That knows the answer to every perceived problem. It is only the Holy Spirit That can heal my mind as I allow healing to occur. Here I find that God is my strength and vision is His gift. Here I am reminded to place my trust in God and not the stories of the world. Here is another opportunity to choose peace and follow in the moment where the Holy Spirit leads me.

Today is a day of practice of returning again and again to my inner Teacher, where I am reminded once again of the truth that only Love is real, and that illusions of lack are nothing and nowhere. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
