Teach Only Love

…to teach is to learn, so that teacher and learner are the same. It also emphasizes that teaching is a constant process; it goes on every moment of the day, and continues into sleeping thoughts as well.

To teach is to demonstrate. There are only two thought systems, and you demonstrate that you believe one or the other is true all the time. From your demonstration others learn, and so do you.

Each teaching-learning situation involves a different relationship at the beginning, although the ultimate goal is always the same; to make of the relationship a holy relationship, in which both can look upon the Son of God as sinless. There is no one from whom a teacher of God cannot learn, so there is no one whom he cannot teach. However, from a practical point of view he cannot meet everyone, nor can everyone find him. Therefore, the plan includes very specific contacts to be made for each teacher of God. There are no accidents in salvation. Those who are to meet will meet, because together they have the potential for a holy relationship. They are ready for each other. (A Course in Miracles, M-in.1:5-2:3;M-3.1:2-8)

We teach with our thoughts, whether our body seems to be alone or with another body, even while the body sleeps. Our thoughts reflect what we believe. If our thoughts are about fear, guilt and judgment, we are believing we are separate and teaching that we are separate, alone and guilty.

This is why the Course tells us that we change the world by changing our thoughts about the world. We change our thoughts by changing what we believe. Do we believe the ego story of separation, sin, fear and guilt? Or do we believe the Holy Spirit’s message that we remain Love as Love created us, innocent and complete?

To change our thoughts and teach innocence and Love, we need to let ourselves be led by the Teacher of Love, Who is not deceived by the ego’s stories of separation and fear. The Holy Spirit will guide us truly to see past the false images to the changeless, eternal Love that is ever present. We need only be willing to follow.
