Teaching and Learning Only Innocence

There is a course for every teacher of God. The form of the course varies greatly. So do the particular teaching aids involved. But the content of the course never changes. Its central theme is always, “God’s Son is guiltless, and in his innocence is his salvation.” It can be taught by actions or thoughts; in words or soundlessly; in any language or in no language; in any place or time or manner. (M-1.3:1-6)

In the introduction to the ACIM Manual for Teachers we are told that teachers of God teach perfection over and over until they learn it. To teach perfection is to teach that everyone is guiltless, for they have in truth done nothing to harm God or His one Son. The recognition of the unequivocal innocence of our brothers and ourselves brings us back to the full awareness that we remain Love as Love created us.

To teach innocence we must demonstrate that we forgive the mistaken beliefs that harm is possible and guilt justified. We teach perfection to our brothers and ourselves by demonstration each time we bring a fear or guilt thought to the Holy Spirit and let our perception be healed by the Holy Spirit’s Light.

Today we choose to answer God’s call to serve as a teacher of God by practicing bringing every thought of guilt and fear to the Holy Spirit with willingness to receive His healing. This is how we will teach and learn only innocence.
