The Journey to God

The journey to God is merely the reawakening of the knowledge of where you are always, and what you are forever. It is a journey without distance to a goal that has never changed. Truth can only be experienced. It cannot be described and it cannot be explained. I can make you aware of the conditions of truth, but the experience is of God. Together we can meet its conditions, but truth will dawn upon you of itself. (A Course in Miracles, T-8.VI.9:6-11. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

The journey to God is simply the process of removing the barriers to the awareness of Love’s presence. Love is eternal, changeless and ever present. Our denial of Love’s presence makes us unaware of It, but has no effect whatsoever on Reality.

Judgment, or unforgiveness, is the mechanism for denying Love’s presence. Thus forgiveness, or letting go of judgment, is how we reawaken to ever present Love. We have taught ourselves well to deny Love. Because of this, we need a Teacher Who remembers the truth for us to help us unlearn the lessons of denial. This is a journey of forgiveness that will let the truth of changeless Love dawn upon our minds.
