The Simplicity of Atonement

My sinlessness protects me from all harm.

My sinlessness ensures me perfect peace, eternal safety, everlasting love, freedom forever from all thought of loss; complete deliverance from suffering. ²And only happiness can be my state, for only happiness is given me. ³What must I do to know all this is mine? ⁴I must accept Atonement for myself, and nothing more. ⁵God has already done all things that need be done. ⁶And I must learn I need do nothing of myself, for I need but accept my Self, my sinlessness, created for me, now already mine, to feel God’s Love protecting me from harm, to understand my Father loves His Son; to know I am the Son my Father loves.

You Who created me in sinlessness are not mistaken about what I am. ²I was mistaken when I thought I sinned, but I accept Atonement for myself. ³Father, my dream is ended now. ⁴Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-337. See also ACIM Lesson 337 Insights.)

Accepting the Atonement is simple, but it seems to be difficult. This is only because we have thoroughly invested our belief in a separate identity which suffers loss and pain, lacks Love and feels guilty for abandoning God.

We are assured that what we perceive is only a dream. This dream will disappear when we forgive our belief that we are separate and alone. Forgiveness is the key that awakens us to the fact that we remain Love as God created us.

The Holy Spirit was given us to teach us that our beliefs about being separate are not true. We never succeeded in separating from Love. In truth, we cannot harm nor be harmed. Our true Self continues to extend God’s Love as part of His Creation. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us let go of our judgments to see the presence of Love and accept Atonement.
