We Let Love Guide Us Today

I will not be afraid of love today.

If I could realize but this today, salvation would be reached for all the world. ²This the decision not to be insane, and to accept myself as God Himself, my Father and my Source, created me. ³This the determination not to be asleep in dreams of death, while truth remains forever living in the joy of love. ⁴And this the choice to recognize the Self Whom God created as the Son He loves, and Who remains my one Identity.

Father, Your Name is Love and so is mine. ²Such is the truth. ³And can the truth be changed by merely giving it another name? ⁴The name of fear is simply a mistake. ⁵Let me not be afraid of truth today. (A Course in Miracles, W-282. See also ACIM Lesson 282 Insights.)

Our identity is Love. It is our only real identity. We have made up a different identity that is afraid of our true Identity. This identity dreams of a life in fear. It populates this dream with separate identities that seem to threaten its life — from micro-organisms to competing personalities to atomic bombs. It is indeed a dream that fears the truth. It fills this dream with all these images to make the dream seem real and hide the truth.

We can awaken from this fearful dream by forgiving the wish for specialness that supports the dream. Within the dream, forgiveness allows God’s Love to be reflected in the dream. We are always free to accept our true Identity as God’s Son, His extension of His Love.

We are Love and nothing else. Today we welcome Love as our Guide. It will help us see beyond the images of the dream to the oneness that is our Self. The dream will fade as we accept the Reality that we are only Love.

This acceptance is reflected in the dream by receiving and giving Love. Love becomes our motivation. Our true desire is to extend Love and answer calls for Love with Love. Love judges only between the reality of Love and the recognition of calls for Love. Its response to either is Love. Today we will listen to Love as our Guide.
