Welcoming Happiness

Robert:
I have noticed that when I am aware of the Love in me, I am peaceful and happy. Appearances in the world around me do not disturb me. A crying child in a supermarket, instead of being irritating, brings up the thought that the child is feeling disconnected and searching for Love. And in my mind I offer Love to that child. With that thought I am also blessed.

I am grateful that A Course in Miracles has helped me to let go of many judgments that stood in the way of receiving this blessing. I am not yet always in this loving place. But the happiness it brings motivates me to pay attention to when I am disturbed and to quickly offer this disturbance to the Holy Spirit for His help in letting it go. Forgiveness makes way for blessing beyond this world. Forgiveness is my only function here. It is the only meaning in all my doing here. Nothing else matters. Today is another joyous day for letting go of the past and welcoming the happy now.

Mary:
Am I willing to recognize that in truth I have no separate will from God’s? Am I willing to realize that there is no will but God’s? This willingness entails letting go of belief in a past or future.

Many times I find myself thinking in terms of a past or future. The past and future are within the realm of time which I now know has no meaning in truth. In God’s Will only what is eternal is true. Today my practice is to hand my ideas of time — the past and future — over to the Holy Spirit to be undone. Today my practice is to be open to the awareness of the changeless, eternal present. This practice brings me happiness. This practice brings me peace. Thank you Holy Spirit.
