You Are Spirit

Today’s idea identifies you with your one Self. It accepts no split identity, nor tries to weave opposing factors into unity. It simply states the truth. Practice this truth today as often as you can, for it will bring your mind from conflict to the quiet fields of peace. No chill of fear can enter, for your mind has been absolved from madness, letting go illusions of a split identity.

Spirit am I, a holy Son of God,
free of all limits, safe and healed and whole,
free to forgive, and free to save the world. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.97.1,7:2)

As we accept that we are Spirit, we let go of the barriers that interfere with receiving Holy Spirit’s inspiration and guidance. When we accept that we are Spirit, we accept that we are one with the Holy Spirit, and communication with our true Self is natural and automatic. Because Spirit is one, It is eternally at peace, so we experience that peace by accepting that we are Spirit. All judgment, fear and guilt are simply the denial of our true Identity, the denial that we are Spirit.

This is our prayer today: “We choose to walk with You today, Holy Spirit. Hold our hands and guide us in Your way of seeing so that we may recognize what is truly valuable and what is nothing, an illusion. We would be channels of Your blessing as we see with You that only Love is there.”

Letting Love Return to Our Awareness

I gladly make the “sacrifice” of fear — Here is the only “sacrifice” You ask of Your beloved Son; You ask him to give up all suffering, all sense of loss and sadness, all anxiety and doubt, and freely let Your Love come streaming in to his awareness, healing him of pain, and giving him Your Own eternal joy. Such is the “sacrifice” You ask of me, and one I gladly make; the only “cost” of restoration of Your memory to me, for the salvation of the world.

And as we pay the debt we owe to truth,—a debt that merely is the letting go of self-deceptions and of images we worshipped falsely—truth returns to us in wholeness and in joy. We are deceived no longer. Love has now returned to our awareness. And we are at peace again, for fear has gone and only love remains. (A Course in Miracles W-pII.323)

Today we practice stepping back and watching ego thoughts with Holy Spirit as they pass by. As we watch we let go of the images we have worshipped falsely with the help of our inner Teacher. With Holy Spirit, we practice not getting caught by these images. We give the Holy Spirit a chance to restore to us the awareness of Love’s presence. We give the Holy Spirit an opening to return us to the state of peace where we belong.

Joined with the Holy Spirit, we return to our only function of receiving Love and extending Love. We are now willing to let go of fear and experience our freedom to extend and be Love in the one Mind of Love.

Letting God’s Voice Speak to Us

Listen in deep silence. Be very still and open your mind. Go past all the raucous shrieks and sick imaginings that cover your real thoughts and obscure your eternal link with God. Sink deep into the peace that waits for you beyond the frantic, riotous thoughts and sights and sounds of this insane world. You do not live here. We are trying to reach your real home. We are trying to reach the place where you are truly welcome. We are trying to reach God. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.49.4)

We want to return to the peace and sanity of our Father. We do this by relaxing and opening to our inner Teacher’s gift of peace… We allow the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts and minds with all the blessings that accepting peace brings with it… We allow Holy Spirit’s peace to fill every part of our body and mind… We choose to let go and let peace take over… We rest a while in the healing waters of peace…

We extend the peace we receive to every fear thought that comes up for healing… We feel peace’s quietness and calmness… Where peace is allowed to enter, fear disappears… We accept the blessings of receiving and extending peace today.

As we carry peace’s beneficent Light today, we extend it to the world. We remember we are connected with all That is. And the peace we extend we are receiving. We know all we need to know as we stay in God’s flow of peace and let His Voice speak to and through us all through the day.

The Healing Power of Peace

By allowing ourselves to tune into peace, remember peace, we reconnect with our real thoughts to see a real world. When we disconnect from Reality, we are out of peace, in chaos. We are fearful because nothing is dependable and we feel vulnerable.

We can pull ourselves out of fear by tuning into peace and reconnecting with our real Thoughts, the Thoughts of the Holy Spirit. We remember that we are in the Mind of our Source, and that our Will is His Will. We are determined to maintain our awareness of Who we are — the Son of God in the Mind of God.

Today we will practice pausing to remember peace.

Giving Each Day to God

How simply and how easily does time slip by for the teacher of God who has accepted His protection! All that he did before in the name of safety no longer interests him. For he is safe, and knows it to be so. He has a Guide Who will not fail. He need make no distinctions among the problems he perceives, for He to Whom he turns with all of them recognizes no order of difficulty in resolving them. He is as safe in the present as he was before illusions were accepted into his mind, and as he will be when he has let them go. There is no difference in his state at different times and different places, because they are all one to God. (A Course in Miracles M-16.7:1-7)

We give this day to God… Of ourselves, we do not know what to do with it. We have no separate will of our own. We rely on opening to God’s Will in every circumstance… We know our safety lies in keeping in constant contact with our inner Guide Who cannot fail… What can be more certain than the strength of God? We feel His strength as we give the day to God.

Forgiveness Offers You Peace and Joy

Today it will be given you to feel the peace forgiveness offers, and the joy the lifting of the veil holds out to you.

Before the light you will receive today the world will fade until it disappears, and you will see another world arise you have no words to picture. Now we walk directly into light, and we receive the gifts that have been held in store for us since time began, kept waiting for today.

Forgiveness offers everything you want. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.122.11:2-13:1)

Whenever we are unhappy or out of peace, it is always because we are judging the situation we perceive. We think that if somehow the situation were different we would be happy. This is characteristic of the ego, which always directs us to seek where we cannot find what we truly want. Happiness cannot be found in any circumstance that appears to be outside us. Happiness can only be found in the acceptance of our Self.

The denial of our Self is what needs to be forgiven, or let go. From the perspective of being alone and separate, it is impossible to know how to reach the experience of our oneness in Love. But the Holy Spirit is in our minds with the sole purpose of guiding us to that awareness — that we are Love and nothing else.

Today our practice is to walk with Holy Spirit, letting Him point the way and share His vision with us. With His help, we will pierce through the veil of Self denial and return to our Home in Love. Today will be a happy day indeed.

You Are Entitled to See as God Sees

Because you are God’s Son, you have the inherent ability to see as God sees. You have the inherent ability to love as God loves. God has given you all of Himself. He has given you all of His Love. And so God’s Love and Light is yours to receive and give. As you give God’s Light, you naturally heal and are healed.

The Majesty of God is there, for you to recognize and appreciate and know. Recognizing the Majesty of God as your brother is to accept your own inheritance. God gives only equally. If you recognize His gift in anyone, you have acknowledged what He has given you. (A Course in Miracles T-7.XI.5:3-6)

We cannot see as God sees if we see our brother as a body. As we practice asking in every circumstance, “Help me see this as Love sees it,” we will learn to see past the body to the eternal truth that only Love is real. Appearances of danger, loss, inadequacy, limitation and guilt will be recognized as having no substance. They will fade away as we let ourselves see the brilliant Light of Love that is eternally present. This is our practice for today.
