Accepting the Peace of God in Us

We want to remember the peace of God that is in us. And so we dedicate today to keeping our minds open to Holy Spirit’s lead. He will always lead us to God’s peace. That is His function. As we follow His lead, peace will be reflected in all our doing. We will move through the day in ease, being anxious about nothing.

We know that we can trust Holy Spirit to guide our hands and feet, to tell us what to say and do and to see as He sees. As we accept His help, we will experience the blessing of God’s gifts of peace and joy and Love.

Remembering We Are Spirit—One with All

[Holy Spirit] will speak to you, reminding you that you are spirit, one with Him and God, your brothers and your Self. Listen for His assurance every time you speak the words He offers you today, and let Him tell your mind that they are true. Use them against temptation, and escape its sorry consequences if you yield to the belief that you are something else. The Holy Spirit gives you peace today. Receive His words, and offer them to Him. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.97.8:2-5)

We welcome Holy Spirit into our minds today… We gladly receive His peace… and His Love… We let His Light shine upon our darkened perceptions which reflect separation… We know that He knows the way to heal our minds…

We rest with an open mind… receiving the changed perception… We relax into His Love and become one with It… We give Him our grievances gladly… We let Him guide us very gently to a new way of seeing ourselves and everyone in this world… Peace replaces what was perceived as conflict… Infinite Love fills our mind… and we give thanks.

Following Holy Spirit’s Guidance

To follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance is to let yourself be absolved of guilt. It is the essence of the Atonement. It is the core of the curriculum. The imagined usurping of functions not your own is the basis of fear. The whole world you see reflects the illusion that you have done so, making fear inevitable. To return the function to the One to Whom it belongs is thus the escape from fear. And it is this that lets the memory of love return to you. Do not, then, think that following the Holy Spirit’s guidance is necessary merely because of your own inadequacies. It is the way out of hell for you. (A Course in Miracles, M-29.3:3-11)

Everyone in this world is searching for the peace of God. If we look to the ego for direction, we are sent on wild goose chases guaranteed to fail to bring us lasting peace. Thankfully we have a Guide in our mind to guide us to where true peace is found. But we have to be willing to give up our reliance on the ego, our little self, and turn over all our judgments to the Guide Who knows what is true and what is false.

Today our practice is to turn to Holy Spirit for guidance in all our doing. Because the Holy Spirit’s only purpose is to show us the truth, to bring us to peace, all our doing in the world becomes a steppingstone on the journey Home.

Forgiveness with Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit teaches you the ways of forgiveness. He will help you understand that you are always and only forgiving yourself. It is your sins you are forgiving in your brother, and to forgive your brother is to forgive yourself. When the guilt in your mind is completely healed, you will no longer see guilt anywhere, for only the guilty are impelled to condemn their brothers. One in whom forgiveness has washed away all sense of guilt, can only bless. Where guilt was seen, now is innocence only. Where before was punishment called for, now is heard only the call for Love. (From the Christ Mind, pp. 114-115)

As we learn to follow Holy Spirit’s correction of our perception with every circumstance we encounter, what seemed difficult before now becomes peaceful and clear. We are learning to make forgiveness our highest priority. We are learning to notice whenever we feel angry or not in a place of peace and to immediately open up to Holy Spirit’s way of perceiving the situation in each now moment. We remember that we do not know, but that we have the Source of healing within our mind that does know.

We pause and open to the Light of Truth… We are shown the Love behind every form of anger, frustration or conflict… We let ourselves be reminded that everything we see out in the world is a projection that is coming from our own mind… We see innocence where we once saw guilt “out there.”

We let our minds be brought to truth again and again all through the day. All this comes to us we make forgiveness with Holy Spirit our highest priority. This is the way we let our minds be healed and extend the true perception we receive throughout the world.

Letting the Memory of God Return

The miracle comes quietly into the mind that stops an instant and is still. It reaches gently from that quiet time, and from the mind it healed in quiet then, to other minds to share its quietness. And they will join in doing nothing to prevent its radiant extension back into the Mind which caused all minds to be. Born out of sharing, there can be no pause in time to cause the miracle delay in hastening to all unquiet minds, and bringing them an instant’s stillness, when the memory of God returns to them. Their own remembering is quiet now, and what has come to take its place will not be wholly unremembered afterwards. (A Course in Miracles, T-28.I.11)

Each time we pause for a moment to step back from our busyness and return to the quiet place of peace in our minds, we open the door to a miracle. We open the door to remember the present Love that is always with us and in us.

As we remember the Love that is eternally present without bringing memories of the past with us, we open our hearts and minds to the Truth that we remain Love and nothing else. We remain innocent as Innocence created us. As we remember the now, we see our brothers without the past and recognize them as one with us, wholly innocent and wholly loving. In this remembrance we know we are safe and whole. Fear and guilt fade away, replaced by peace and joy.

Our practice today is to take frequent breaks in our mind to step back and let the memory of the eternal Present fill our minds. It will be a blessed day indeed.

Forgiveness Brings Peace to All Minds

How holy are you who have the power to bring peace to every mind! How blessed are you who can learn to recognize the means for letting this be done through you! What purpose could you have that would bring you greater happiness?

The light of the world brings peace to every mind through my forgiveness. I am the means God has appointed for the salvation of the world. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.63.1;3:4-5)

Forgiveness means letting the veil be lifted to see the face of Christ behind the world of form. Forgiveness means overlooking what never really happened. It also means being willing to be shown the eternal truth of Love’s Presence in everyone.

As we are willing to see the eternal truth in everyone, we are bringing peace to every mind through our forgiveness. Because we are one with every brother, our minds are healed as one. As our minds are healed, we are returned to happiness, peace and joy. The crazy separating thoughts of the ego are passed by.

What a wonderful opportunity we have today to bring peace of mind to every brother. Fear thoughts disappear as our peace of mind extends. Practicing forgiveness all through the day is the gentle way of healing. We let the Holy Spirit be in charge of our mind and follow as we are led by the Light of truth within. Having this as our purpose today is our greatest joy. And we give thanks for this opportunity.

We Are One in Peace and Joy

Light up my mind, my Father… Dissolve all the false ideas that cloud my mind with Your Light… I accept Your Help as I go through this day… I join with You and accept the truth about me and every brother in this world…

You are my strength, my Father… As I join with you, illusions fade away… I am here only to serve awakening from the dream… I am willing to receive your Light that I may extend It to the world… We are one in peace and joy.
