Decisions are continuous. ²You do not always know when you are making them. ³But with a little practice with the ones you recognize, a set begins to form which sees you through the rest. ⁴It is not wise to let yourself become preoccupied with every step you take. ⁵The proper set, adopted consciously each time you wake, will put you well ahead. ⁶And if you find resistance strong and dedication weak, you are not ready. ⁷Do not fight yourself. ⁸But think about the kind of day you want, and tell yourself there is a way in which this very day can happen just like that. ⁹Then try again to have the day you want.
The outlook starts with this:
²Today I will make no decisions by myself.
³This means that you are choosing not to be the judge of what to do. ⁴But it must also mean you will not judge the situations where you will be called upon to make response. ⁵For if you judge them, you have set the rules for how you should react to them. ⁶And then another answer cannot but produce confusion and uncertainty and fear.
This is your major problem now. ²You still make up your mind, and then decide to ask what you should do.
Throughout the day, at any time you think of it and have a quiet moment for reflection, tell yourself again the kind of day you want; the feelings you would have, the things you want to happen to you, and the things you would experience, and say:
²If I make no decisions by myself, this is the day that will be given me.” (A Course in Miracles, T-30.I.1:1–3:2;4:1-2 See also ACIM Text Q & A.)
The decisions we make, consciously or not, determine what we experience. If we identify with the ego, we make decisions that support our wish for specialness. We experience being separate and alone, vulnerable to forces over which we have no control.
But we can choose the Holy Spirit as our advisor in our decision-making. This takes a willingness to pause and step back from our knee jerk responses to welcome the Holy Spirit’s guidance.
If we are willing to acknowledge that we do not know what anything means, our mind is open to receive Christ’s vision. With this perspective, our decisions will lead to the experience of Love’s peace and happiness.

Eternal holiness abides in me.
My holiness is far beyond my own ability to understand or know. ²Yet God, my Father, Who created it, acknowledges my holiness as His. ³Our Will, together, understands it. ⁴And Our Will, together, knows that it is so.
Father, my holiness is not of me. ²It is not mine to be destroyed by sin. ³It is not mine to suffer from attack. ⁴Illusions can obscure it, but can not put out its radiance, nor dim its light. ⁵It stands forever perfect and untouched. ⁶In it are all things healed, for they remain as You created them. ⁷And I can know my holiness. ⁸For Holiness Itself created me, and I can know my Source because it is Your Will that You be known. (A Course in Miracles, W-299. See also ACIM Lesson 299 Insights.)
The holiness of our true Self cannot be altered because it remains one with the holiness of our Father, the Source of Holiness. But in our dreams of being a separate individual in a world of differences, we cannot comprehend our holiness. Its meaning is buried beneath our misperception of our identity.
As we learn to accept our Identity as an extension of God’s Love, forever united with Him, we will know that our holiness is part of His Holiness. It is His Will that we know the holiness that lives eternally in us, His Son. And we will see the holiness in everyone.

³Try to remember when there was a time,—perhaps a minute, maybe even less—when nothing came to interrupt your peace; when you were certain you were loved and safe.
When truth has come it does not stay a while, to disappear or change to something else. ²It does not shift and alter in its form, nor come and go and go and come again. ³It stays exactly as it always was, to be depended on in every need, and trusted with a perfect trust in all the seeming difficulties and the doubts that the appearances the world presents engender. ⁴They will merely blow away, when truth corrects the errors in your mind.
When truth has come it harbors in its wings the gift of perfect constancy, and love which does not falter in the face of pain, but looks beyond it, steadily and sure. ²Here is the gift of healing, for the truth needs no defense, and therefore no attack is possible. ³Illusions can be brought to truth to be corrected.
Begin by asking Him Who goes with you upon this undertaking that He be in your awareness as you go with Him.
²You speak to Him today, and make your pledge to let His function be fulfilled through you. ³To share His function is to share His joy. ⁴His confidence is with you, as you say:
⁵Truth will correct all errors in my mind, and I will rest in Him Who is my Self.
⁶Then let Him lead you gently to the truth, which will envelop you and give you peace so deep and tranquil that you will return to the familiar world reluctantly.
And yet you will be glad to look again upon this world. ²For you will bring with you the promise of the changes which the truth that goes with you will carry to the world. (A Course in Miracles, W-107.2:3;.4:1–5:3;8:1;9:2–10:2. See also ACIM Lesson 107 Insights.)
The wish for specialness is a demand for change. Only if change were possible could differences exist. To satisfy this wish, the ego offers a dream where change is the only constant.
But Truth never changes. It remains the same, forever extending Love. In dreams of change, Truth offers a change that will set us free from all uncertainty and fear. It offers a change of mind that corrects all errors and lets us rest in the certainty that we remain Love as Love created us. We rest in the peace and joy we share with our Father as His Son.

Who is the light of the world except God’s Son? ²This, then, is merely a statement of the truth about yourself. ³It is the opposite of a statement of pride, of arrogance, or of self-deception. ⁴It does not describe the self-concept you have made. ⁵It does not refer to any of the characteristics with which you have endowed your idols. ⁶It refers to you as you were created by God. ⁷It simply states the truth.
You will want to think about this idea as often as possible today. ²It is the perfect answer to all illusions, and therefore to all temptation. ³It brings all the images you have made about yourself to the truth, and helps you depart in peace, unburdened and certain of your purpose.
…begin with telling yourself:
³I am the light of the world. ⁴That is my only function. ⁵That is why I am here.
Today’s idea goes far beyond the ego’s petty views of what you are and what your purpose is. …⁵You are the light of the world. ⁶God has built His plan for the salvation of His Son on you. (A Course in Miracles, W-61.1;4;5:2-5;7:1,5-6. See also ACIM Lesson 61 Insights.)
We need to be saved from the imprisonment we have imposed upon ourselves by the wish to be special — to be different, to have something uniquely ours. This wish could only seem to be fulfilled in a dream that denies reality. It is a dream of darkness that shuts out the Light of Love. It is a dream that denies our true Self, the Son of God.
Today we affirm the truth about ourselves. The Light is in us. Light goes with us wherever we go. It is our function to let this Light shine on all that we perceive. It will dispel the images of denial and show us our unity with each other and our Father. As we accept our unity in Love, we find peace and happiness.

I am in danger nowhere in the world.
Your Son is safe wherever he may be, for You are there with him. ²He need but call upon Your Name, and he will recollect his safety and Your Love, for they are one. ³How can he fear or doubt or fail to know he cannot suffer, be endangered, or experience unhappiness, when he belongs to You, beloved and loving, in the safety of Your Fatherly embrace?
And there we are in truth. ²No storms can come into the hallowed haven of our home. ³In God we are secure. ⁴For what can come to threaten God Himself, or make afraid what will forever be a part of Him? (A Course in Miracles, W-244. See also ACIM Lesson 244 Insights.)
In the ego’s dream, we seem to be in constant danger from countless sources. There is part of us that knows that safety lies in the embrace of our Father’s Love. And so we search for His Love. But while we identify with the ego, we search for Love where it cannot be found.
Today we remind ourselves that we belong to God. Our Identity is in our unity with His Love. We accept the comfort of His loving embrace. We relax into the quiet joy of extending His Love and safety as we share It with everyone we meet or think of today. We rest in God.

A dream of judgment came into the mind that God created perfect as Himself. …³How can God’s Son awaken from the dream? ⁴It is a dream of judgment. ⁵So must he judge not, and he will waken.
The real world still is but a dream. …what was once a dream of judgment now has changed into a dream where all is joy, because that is the purpose that it has. ⁷Only forgiving dreams can enter here, for time is almost over.
⁵Forgiveness, once complete, brings timelessness so close the song of Heaven can be heard, not with the ears, but with the holiness that never left the altar that abides forever deep within the Son of God. ⁶And when he hears this song again, he knows he never heard it not. ⁷And where is time, when dreams of judgment have been put away?
³Your self-betrayal must result in fear, for fear is judgment, leading surely to the frantic search for idols and for death.
Forgiving dreams remind you that you live in safety and have not attacked yourself. …³Forgiving dreams are kind to everyone who figures in the dream. ⁴And so they bring the dreamer full release from dreams of fear. (A Course in Miracles, T-29.IX.2:1,3-5;7:1,6-7;8:5-7;9:3–10:1,3-4. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)
There is a holiness within everyone that never changes. It is the Self that God created one with Himself. Only in dreams of judgment does this self seem to be unknown, hidden behind a barrier made by the ego’s denial of Love’s oneness.
Forgiveness releases us from the judgments that seem to pit us against each other in the competition for specialness. With forgiveness we remember that we live in safety, united with each other as God’s One Son. Forgiveness lets us join with each other in Love and joy, certain that we are held forever in the Heart of our Father.

Today I will judge nothing that occurs.
I will be honest with myself today. ²I will not think that I already know what must remain beyond my present grasp. ³I will not think I understand the whole from bits of my perception, which are all that I can see. ⁴Today I recognize that this is so. ⁵And so I am relieved of judgments that I cannot make. ⁶Thus do I free myself and what I look upon, to be in peace as God created us.
Father, today I leave creation free to be itself. ²I honor all its parts, in which I am included. ³We are one because each part contains Your memory, and truth must shine in all of us as one. (W-243)
The ego is arrogant. It assigns its meaning to everything it looks upon, with no regard for the truth. This practice is essential to maintain perceptions that supersede reality. This is how the ego maintains control.
We do not have to pay attention to the ego’s machinations. Today we practice stepping back from our snap judgments by reminding ourselves that we do not know what anything means. With an open mind, we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see the world as He sees it. As we accept His help, we will have a peaceful, joyous and Love-filled day.
