Fulfilling Our Shared Mission

My eyes, my tongue, my hands, my feet today have but one purpose; to be given Christ to use to bless the world with miracles.

Father, I give all that is mine today to Christ, to use in any way that best will serve the purpose that I share with Him. ²Nothing is mine alone, for He and I have joined in purpose. ³Thus has learning come almost to its appointed end. ⁴A while I work with Him to serve His purpose. ⁵Then I lose myself in my Identity, and recognize that Christ is but my Self. We have a joyous purpose to fulfill. It is to bring the loving message of Christ, our true Self, to the world. We do this by forgiving our mistaken beliefs that lead to perceptions of differences and conflict. We are united with our Creator in Love.

In the dream of separation, this Reality is denied. In this world it seems that conflict, attack, defense, loneliness and loss are a fact of ‘life.’ The message that we are united in Love leads to awakening to our true Life which is the eternal extension of Love.

Let us be messengers of Love today and join together in fulfilling our shared mission.

Our Mission Is to Remember Love

The Holy Spirit cannot speak to an unwelcoming host, because He will not be heard. ²The Eternal Guest remains, but His Voice grows faint in alien company. ³He needs your protection, only because your care is a sign that you want Him. ⁴Think like Him ever so slightly, and the little spark becomes a blazing light that fills your mind so that He becomes your only Guest. ⁵Whenever you ask the ego to enter, you lessen His welcome. ⁶He will remain, but you have allied yourself against Him. ⁷Whatever journey you choose to take, He will go with you, waiting. ⁸You can safely trust His patience, for He cannot leave a part of God. ⁹Yet you need far more than patience.

You will never rest until you know your function and fulfill it, for only in this can your will and your Father’s be wholly joined. ²To have Him is to be like Him, and He has given Himself to you. ³You who have God must be as God, for His function became yours with His gift. ⁴Invite this knowledge back into your mind, and let nothing that obscures it enter. ⁵The Guest Whom God sent you will teach you how to do this, if you but recognize the little spark and are willing to let it grow. ⁶Your willingness need not be perfect, because His is. ⁷If you will merely offer Him a little place, He will lighten it so much that you will gladly let it be increased. ⁸And by this increase, you will begin to remember creation. God has given us all one function in this world. It is to remember that, like Him, we are Love and nothing else. When we remember that, we see everything and everyone as one with us in that Love. Nothing real exists outside of Love’s oneness.

We have been given a Helper in our mind to help us fulfill our purpose. But we must be willing to accept His help. He does not demand that our willingness be total. He will take our little willingness and make it whole by joining it with His Will.

Today we channel the urge to search for Love to open our mind to the Holy Spirit’s help. Only by following His direction will we be led to search where the Love we seek can be found. He will show us that Love is within us always. It is our true Self. This Self knows only Love is real and sees that Love in everyone. This is our mission.

We Are Love in the Heart of Love

Fear is not justified in any form.

Fear is deception. ²It attests that you have seen yourself as you could never be, and therefore look upon a world which is impossible. ³Not one thing in this world is true. ⁴It does not matter what the form in which it may appear. ⁵It witnesses but to your own illusions of yourself. ⁶Let us not be deceived today. ⁷We are the Sons of God. ⁸There is no fear in us, for we are each a part of Love Itself.

How foolish are our fears! ²Would You allow Your Son to suffer? ³Give us faith today to recognize Your Son, and set him free. ⁴Let us forgive him in Your Name, that we may understand his holiness, and feel the love for him which is Your Own as well. Because of our wish for specialness, it is hard to believe that we are the creation of Love Itself. Nothing we perceive with the body is real — only a dream. But when we learn to accept this fact, all fear disappears. We learn that our Reality is only Love; nothing else exists.

We have Help to learn this important lesson that is answer to our self deception. Our Reality is Love and nothing else. We are grateful that we have Help within our mind to let go of our mistaken wishes and false perceptions. We have Help to recognize that we remain eternally Love in the Heart of Love.

We Have the Power to Bless the World

Projection makes perception. ²The world you see is what you gave it, nothing more than that. ³But though it is no more than that, it is not less. ⁴Therefore, to you it is important. ⁵It is the witness to your state of mind, the outside picture of an inward condition. ⁶As a man thinketh, so does he perceive. ⁷Therefore, seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world. ⁸Perception is a result and not a cause. ⁹And that is why order of difficulty in miracles is meaningless. ¹⁰Everything looked upon with vision is healed and holy. ¹¹Nothing perceived without it means anything. ¹²And where there is no meaning, there is chaos.

Damnation is your judgment on yourself, and this you will project upon the world. ²See it as damned, and all you see is what you did to hurt the Son of God. ³If you behold disaster and catastrophe, you tried to crucify him. ⁴If you see holiness and hope, you joined the Will of God to set him free. ⁵There is no choice that lies between these two decisions. ⁶And you will see the witness to the choice you made, and learn from this to recognize which one you chose. ⁷The world you see but shows you how much joy you have allowed yourself to see in you, and to accept as yours. ⁸And, if this is its meaning, then the power to give [the world] joy must lie within you. Our world seems to be a chaotic place of conflict, attack. Fear and guilt, attack and defense seem justified. But we see this only because we chose to value specialness over our unity with the Love of our Creator. We see only a reflection of what we believe we are.

In every moment we have the opportunity to join with the Will of God to see the reality of Love all around us. We ask the Holy Spirit help us see with His vision. As we accept His help, we will see a loving world, filled with joy and hope. With this vision we bless the world.

Using the Body to Bring Love to the World

When your body and your ego and your dreams are gone, you will know that you will last forever. ²Perhaps you think this is accomplished through death, but nothing is accomplished through death, because death is nothing. ³Everything is accomplished through life, and life is of the mind and in the mind. ⁴The body neither lives nor dies, because it cannot contain you who are life. ⁵If we share the same mind, you can overcome death because I did. ⁶Death is an attempt to resolve conflict by not deciding at all. ⁷Like any other impossible solution the ego attempts, it will not work.

God did not make the body, because it is destructible, and therefore not of the Kingdom. ²The body is the symbol of what you think you are. ³It is clearly a separation device, and therefore does not exist. ⁴The Holy Spirit, as always, takes what you have made and translates it into a learning device. ⁵Again as always, He reinterprets what the ego uses as an argument for separation into a demonstration against it. ⁶If the mind can heal the body, but the body cannot heal the mind, then the mind must be stronger than the body. ⁷Every miracle demonstrates this.

⁵The Holy Spirit sees the body only as a means of communication, and because communicating is sharing it becomes communion.… ¹⁰The Holy Spirit communicates only what each one can give to all. (A Course in Miracles, T-6.V-A.1:1–2:7;5:5,10. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

The body is a dream of limitation. Our true Self is mind which has no limits. It remains eternally united with the Mind of God.

To the ego, the body is a separation device. To the Holy Spirit, it is a communication device. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us use the body to bring messages of Love to the world through our thoughts, words and actions.

Forgiving Images of Differences

Like any good teacher, the Holy Spirit knows more than you do now, but He teaches only to make you equal with Him. ²You had already taught yourself wrongly, having believed what was not true. ³You did not believe in your own perfection. ⁴Would God teach you that you had made a split mind, when He knows your mind only as whole? ⁵What God does know is that His communication channels are not open to Him, so that He cannot impart His joy and know that His children are wholly joyous. ⁶Giving His joy is an ongoing process, not in time but in eternity. ⁷God’s extending outward, though not His completeness, is blocked when the Sonship does not communicate with Him as one. ⁸So He thought, “My children sleep and must be awakened.

How can you wake children in a more kindly way than by a gentle Voice that will not frighten them, but will merely remind them that the night is over and the light has come? ²You do not inform them that the nightmares that frightened them so badly are not real, because children believe in magic. ³You merely reassure them that they are safe now. ⁴Then you train them to recognize the difference between sleeping and waking, so they will understand they need not be afraid of dreams. ⁵And so when bad dreams come, they will themselves call on the light to dispel them.

⁴The Holy Spirit makes no distinction among dreams. ⁵He merely shines them away. ⁶His light is always the Call to awaken, whatever you have been dreaming. ⁷Nothing lasting lies in dreams, and the Holy Spirit, shining with the light from God Himself, speaks only for what lasts forever. We have a loving Father who wants us to awaken to the peace and joy He created as our Home. In our dreams, we believe we live in a world of conflict, fear and guilt. He has given us the Holy Spirit who gently calls to us to awaken from our nightmare of choosing separation and specialness.

Let us join today in a dedication to listen for His call. It is a call to joy. As we open our mind to receive His vision, we will awaken to the real world, where images of differences are forgiven in the Light of His Love.

Welcoming the Joyous Present

³The holy instant is the opposite of the ego’s fixed belief in salvation through vengeance for the past. ⁴In the holy instant it is understood that the past is gone, and with its passing the drive for vengeance has been uprooted and has disappeared. ⁵The stillness and the peace of now enfold you in perfect gentleness. ⁶Everything is gone except the truth.

What God has given you is truly given, and will be truly received. ²For God’s gifts have no reality apart from your receiving them. ³Your receiving completes His giving. ⁴You will receive because it is His Will to give. ⁵He gave the holy instant to be given you, and it is impossible that you receive it not because He gave it. ⁶When He willed that His Son be free, His Son was free. ⁷In the holy instant is His reminder that His Son will always be exactly as he was created. ⁸And everything the Holy Spirit teaches is to remind you that you have received what God has given you.

There is nothing you can hold against reality. ²All that must be forgiven are the illusions you have held against your brothers. ³Their reality has no past, and only illusions can be forgiven. ⁴God holds nothing against anyone, for He is incapable of illusions of any kind. ⁵Release your brothers from the slavery of their illusions by forgiving them for the illusions you perceive in them. Every time our peace is disturbed, it is because we are holding some thought about a past experience. Only when we believe separation is real do we believe that there is a time that is past and a time that is future which is different from the present. In the reality of God’s Love, there is no time, no past, no future. This is the lesson the holy instant offers.

As we open our mind to the Holy Spirit’s Voice, He will help us see the joyous present moment in which the wholeness of God’s Love is undisturbed. In Love’s changelessness, we are perfectly safe. There is no cause for fear nor guilt. Love is all that is real.

Today we welcome the Holy Spirit vision which shows us the joyous present of our Father’s Love.
