Let All Appearances Be Healed

The miracle attests salvation from appearances by showing they can change. ³Your brother has a changelessness in him beyond appearance and deception, both. ⁴It is obscured by changing views of him that you perceive as his reality.

⁵The Christ in him [every brother] is perfect. ⁶Is it this that you would look upon? ⁷Then let there be no dreams about him that you would prefer to seeing this. ⁸And you will see the Christ in him because you let Him come to you. ⁹And when He has appeared to you, you will be certain you are like Him, for He is the changeless in your brother and in you.

This will you look upon when you decide there is not one appearance you would hold in place of what your brother really is. ²Let no temptation to prefer a dream allow uncertainty to enter here. ³Be not made guilty and afraid when you are tempted by a dream of what he is. ⁴But do not give it power to replace the changeless in him in your sight of him. ⁵There is no false appearance but will fade, if you request a miracle instead. There is in everyone a changelessness beyond the shifting appearances that we perceive. It is the Christ, God’s holy Son. This is the true Identity we share with everyone.

Perception of shifting appearances can only occur in dreams of separation. Whenever there is uncertainty in our mind, we need to turn to the Holy Spirit for help to see past appearances. With His help, conflict will be replaced by peace of mind, fear transformed to Love, and guilt replaced by recognition of the sinlessness we share with every brother.

The Joy of Giving and Receiving Love

Forgiveness lets me know that minds are joined.

Forgiveness is the means appointed for perception’s ending. ²Knowledge is restored after perception first is changed, and then gives way entirely to what remains forever past its highest reach. ³For sights and sounds, at best, can serve but to recall the memory that lies beyond them all. ⁴Forgiveness sweeps away distortions, and opens the hidden altar to the truth. ⁵Its lilies shine into the mind, and call it to return and look within, to find what it has vainly sought without. ⁶For here, and only here, is peace of mind restored, for this the dwelling place of God Himself.

In quiet may forgiveness wipe away my dreams of separation and of sin. ²Then let me, Father, look within, and find Your promise of my sinlessness is kept; Your Word remains unchanged within my mind, Your Love is still abiding in my heart. Through forgiveness we let go of the need to perceive anything external; nothing exists outside the Love of God. His Love completes His Son, as His Son completes Himself. His Love is in us, and we are surrounded by His Love.

As we pause to let the ego’s chaotic thoughts pass by, our mind opens to the memory of Love’s oneness. Perception of differences fades, revealing our true Identity in the Love of our Father. In peace, our hearts are filled with the joy of giving and receiving unlimited Love.

Accepting the Limitless Love of Our Creator

Today I claim the gifts forgiveness gives.

I will not wait another day to find the treasures that my Father offers me. ²Illusions are all vain, and dreams are gone even while they are woven out of thoughts that rest on false perceptions. ³Let me not accept such meager gifts again today. ⁴God’s Voice is offering the peace of God to all who hear and choose to follow Him. ⁵This is my choice today. ⁶And so I go to find the treasures God has given me.

I seek but the eternal. ²For Your Son can be content with nothing less than this. ³What, then, can be his solace but what You are offering to his bewildered mind and frightened heart, to give him certainty and bring him peace? ⁴Today I would behold my brother sinless. ⁵This Your Will for me, for so will I behold my sinlessness. God has one law, the law of Love. It guarantees that only His Love is real, eternally and without exception. Love cannot change or contain any differences. As His Son, His Love is our natural habitat.

Any perception of differences or change can only be an attempt to circumvent God’s law. It is a false perception which could never be true. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we look past our misperceptions to see the sinlessness in our brothers and ourselves. Forgiveness opens our mind to receive our Father’s gift of all of His Love.

The Light That Sets Us Free to Be Love

Forgiveness ends the dream of conflict here.

Conflict must be resolved. ²It cannot be evaded, set aside, denied, disguised, seen somewhere else, called by another name, or hidden by deceit of any kind, if it would be escaped. ³It must be seen exactly as it is, where it is thought to be, in the reality which has been given it, and with the purpose that the mind accorded it. ⁴For only then are its defenses lifted, and the truth can shine upon it as it disappears.

Father, forgiveness is the light You chose to shine away all conflict and all doubt, and light the way for our return to You. ²No light but this can end our evil dream. ³No light but this can save the world. ⁴For this alone will never fail in anything, being Your gift to Your beloved Son. It is important that we learn to recognize what the ego is and what it does to distort our perception of reality. If every day we forgive one judgment, one perception of conflict, we will set ourselves on path to full recovery from our distorted self image.

As we practice this we will begin to recognize the common thread that winds through the myriad forms the ego uses to disguise its denial of Love, our Reality. We will see that there is only one problem — the choice for specialness. We will see that, despite their seeming differences, they are all the same problem. We can forgive the perceived problem and it will disappear.

Remembering the Love That Is Our Home

There is no conflict, for my will is Yours.

How foolish, Father, to believe Your Son could cause himself to suffer! ²Could he make a plan for his damnation, and be left without a certain way to his release? ³You love me, Father. ⁴You could never leave me desolate, to die within a world of pain and cruelty. ⁵How could I think that Love has left Itself? ⁶There is no will except the Will of Love. ⁷Fear is a dream, and has no will that can conflict with Yours. ⁸Conflict is sleep, and peace awakening. ⁹Death is illusion; life, eternal truth. ¹⁰There is no opposition to Your Will. ¹¹There is no conflict, for my will is Yours.

Forgiveness shows us that God’s Will is One, and that we share it. ²Let us look upon the holy sights forgiveness shows today, that we may find the peace of God. ³Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-331. See also ACIM Lesson 331 Insights.)

There is an unbreakable link between our true Self and our Creator. It is the changeless unity of His Love. Our unity with our Father is unassailable.

Forgiveness awakens us from the dream of separation. We give ourselves and the world a gift when we forgive our misperceptions. With the Holy Spirit’s help, our forgiving eyes awaken us to the universe of Love that is our Home.

Accepting the Self God Created Holy

I can attack but my own sinlessness, and it is only that which keeps me safe.

Father, Your Son is holy. ²I am he on whom You smile in love and tenderness so dear and deep and still the universe smiles back on You, and shares Your Holiness. ³How pure, how safe, how holy, then, are we, abiding in Your Smile, with all Your Love bestowed upon us, living one with You, in brotherhood and Fatherhood complete; in sinlessness so perfect that the Lord of Sinlessness conceives us as His Son, a universe of Thought completing Him.

Let us not, then, attack our sinlessness, for it contains the Word of God to us. ²And in its kind reflection we are saved. (A Course in Miracles, W-341. See also ACIM Lesson 341 Insights.)

We all were created holy as an extension of God’s Love. But the ego feeds us a constant stream of thoughts that tell us we are guilty of causing harm and loss; that we are under constant attack by others who would take what we value and harm us. It portrays a world of danger fostered by the wish for specialness. But this world is an illusion, a dream.

All the while, our true Self remains as God created It. His Love surrounds and protects us, keeping us safe from our fearful dreams. We remember our holiness by forgiving our fearful dream. We accept Christ’s vision which shows us that we live in Love. The fearful images of the dream are dispelled in the Light of our Father’s Love.

Remembering Our True Identity Is Love

⁵God would not have Heaven incomplete. ⁶It waits for you, as I do. ⁷I am incomplete without your part in me. ⁸And as I am made whole we go together to our ancient home, prepared for us before time was and kept unchanged by time, immaculate and safe, as it will be at last when time is done.

²For this alone I need; that you will hear the words I speak, and give them to the world. ³You are my voice, my eyes, my feet, my hands through which I save the world. ⁴The Self from which I call to you is but your own. ⁵To Him we go together. ⁶Take your brother’s hand, for this is not a way we walk alone. ⁷In him I walk with you, and you with me. ⁸Our Father wills His Son be one with Him. ⁹What lives but must not then be one with you?

⁵You are His Son, completing His extension in your own. ⁶We practice but an ancient truth we knew before illusion seemed to claim the world. ⁷And we remind the world that it is free of all illusions every time we say:

⁸God is but Love, and therefore so am I. (A Course in Miracles, W-rV.in.8:5-8;9:2-9;10:5-8)

Our true Identity is Love and nothing else. This is the central message the Course is teaching. The only thing that interferes with remembering our Identity is the wish for specialness. There can be no differences in Love, which is one and the same, everywhere and always.

Judgments are based on perception of differences, which cannot exist in Love’s presence. We set ourselves free from our limited perceptions by offering them to the Holy Spirit for Him to interpret on our behalf. He will sort the false from the True and offer It to us to reveal the shining Light of Love that is our true Self.
