Being Guided by Love to See Innocence

You who hold your brother’s hand also hold mine, for when you joined [in a holy relationship with] each other you were not alone. ²Do you believe that I would leave you in the darkness that you agreed to leave with me? ³In your [holy] relationship is this world’s light. ⁴And fear must disappear before you now. ⁵Be tempted not to snatch away the gift of faith you offered to your brother. ⁶You will succeed only in frightening yourself. ⁷The gift is given forever, for God Himself received it. ⁸You cannot take it back. ⁹You have accepted God. ¹⁰The holiness of your relationship is established in Heaven. ¹¹You do not understand what you accepted, but remember that your understanding is not necessary. ¹²All that was necessary was merely the wish to understand. ¹³That wish was the desire to be holy. ¹⁴The Will of God is granted you. ¹⁵For you desire the only thing you ever had, or ever were.

Each instant that we spend together will teach you that this goal is possible, and will strengthen your desire to reach it. ²And in your desire lies its accomplishment. ³Your desire is now in complete accord with all the power of the Holy Spirit’s Will. ⁴No little, faltering footsteps that you may take can separate your desire from His Will and from His strength. ⁵I hold your hand as surely as you agreed to take your brother’s. ⁶You will not separate, for I stand with you and walk with you in your advance to truth. ⁷And where we go we carry God with us. Relationships are holy when all judgments have been dismissed and only the innocence of Love is recognized. Forgiveness lets the Light show us the face of Christ in everyone. In the certainty of Love’s oneness, fear disappears. When we accept the truth in a brother, we accept him as God created him, along with ourselves. Together we are unified with our Father’s Will.

Accepting God’s Gift of His Love

There is no end to all the peace and joy, and all the miracles that I will give, when I accept God’s Word. Why not today?

Why should I wait, my Father, for the joy You promised me? ²For You will keep Your Word You gave Your Son in exile. ³I am sure my treasure waits for me, and I need but reach out my hand to find it. ⁴Even now my fingers touch it. ⁵It is very close. ⁶I need not wait an instant more to be at peace forever. ⁷It is You I choose, and my Identity along with You. ⁸Your Son would be Himself, and know You as his Father and Creator, and his Love. The peace of God can be found everywhere, anytime. We need only accept Reality as It is. God’s peace and Love are our true Identity. We are free to wake up from our dream of isolation and fear brought on by our wish for special status.

But we must be willing to set aside this futile wish and accept our Father’s gift of all of His Love, without limit. With this choice we will accept our part in the eternal extension of God’s peace, joy and Love.

Fulfilling Our Purpose to Be Love

There are no laws but God’s. ²Dismiss all foolish magical beliefs today, and hold your mind in silent readiness to hear the Voice that speaks the truth to you. ³You will be listening to One Who says there is no loss under the laws of God. ⁴Payment is neither given nor received. ⁵Exchange cannot be made; there are no substitutes; and nothing is replaced by something else. ⁶God’s laws forever give and never take.

Hear Him Who tells you this, and realize how foolish are the “laws” you thought upheld the world you thought you saw. ²Then listen further. ³He will tell you more. ⁴About the Love your Father has for you. ⁵About the endless joy He offers you. ⁶About His yearning for His only Son, created as His channel for creation; denied to Him by his belief in hell.

Let us today open God’s channels to Him, and let His Will extend through us to Him. ²Thus is creation endlessly increased. ³His Voice will speak of this to us, as well as of the joys of Heaven which His laws keep limitless forever. God created His Son as a channel for His Love. While in the dream it appears that His Sons (creations) are many, God sees them all as One. We are all included as His one Son.

As a channel of our Father’s Love, our only purpose to extend His Love. Today we practice letting the Love we are shine Its Light on our world. It will dispel the dark shadows of fear, hate and guilt that come from the mistaken wish for specialness. The Light of Love will reveal our unity with every brother as our Father’s one Son. With this practice we will bring blessings to the world and know we are blessed as limitless Love.

Waking Up to Changeless Love

⁷What is unalterable cannot change. ⁸And what is wholly sinless cannot sin.

Such is the simple truth. ²It does not make appeal to might nor triumph. ³It does not command obedience, nor seek to prove how pitiful and futile your attempts to plan defenses that would alter it. ⁴Truth merely wants to give you happiness, for such its purpose is. …what God wills for you must be received.

It is this fact that demonstrates that time is an illusion. ²For time lets you think what God has given you is not the truth right now, as it must be. ³The Thoughts of God are quite apart from time. ⁴For time is but another meaningless defense you made against the truth. ⁵Yet what He wills is here, and you remain as He created you.

Truth has a power far beyond defense, for no illusions can remain where truth has been allowed to enter. ²And it comes to any mind that would lay down its arms, and cease to play with folly. ³It is found at any time; today, if you will choose to practice giving welcome to the truth.

This is our aim today. …⁵We [begin] with a healing prayer, to help us rise above defensiveness, and let truth be as it has always been:

Sickness is a defense against the truth. ⁷I will accept the truth of what I am, and let my mind be wholly healed today.

Healing will flash across your open mind, as peace and truth arise to take the place of war and vain imaginings. (A Course in Miracles, W-136.11:7–15:1,5–16:1. See also ACIM Lesson 136 Insights.)

To experience happiness beyond anything this dream world has to offer, we need only accept the truth — that only Love is real. The purpose of God’s gift of all His Love is to share His joy with all of Creation. In the unity of His Love, there is nothing to defend against, no possibility of loss of any kind.

We were created by Love to extend Love without limit. As we accept this purpose, we wake up from the dream of differences to the quiet peace of eternal, changeless Love.

Willingness to Accept God’s Gifts of Miracles

Anger must come from judgment. Judgment is the weapon I would use against myself, to keep the miracle away from me.

Father, I want what goes against my will, and do not want what is my will to have. ²Straighten my mind, my Father. ³It is sick. ⁴But You have offered freedom, and I choose to claim Your gift today. ⁵And so I give all judgment to the One You gave to me to judge for me. ⁶He sees what I behold, and yet He knows the truth. ⁷He looks on pain, and yet He understands it is not real, and in His understanding it is healed. ⁸He gives the miracles my dreams would hide from my awareness. ⁹Let Him judge today. ¹⁰I do not know my will, but He is sure it is Your Own. ¹¹And He will speak for me, and call Your miracles to come to me.

Listen today. ²Be very still, and hear the gentle Voice for God assuring you that He has judged you as the Son He loves. (A Course in Miracles, W-347. See also ACIM Lesson 347 Insights.)

Our Father’s Voice is in our mind, ready to be heard the moment we are willing to listen. It is a gentle Voice, offering freedom from all fear and guilt. Are we willing to accept His gift? We answer this question in every moment.

Today we practice pausing in the midst of our busy doing to listen. We want to know the truth. We want to remember we are Love, united in our Father’s Love. We want to relinquish our judgments and let His Voice judge all things on our behalf. We want to accept His gifts of miracles.

Releasing Our Judgments Sets Us Free “

My sinless brother is my guide to peace. My sinful brother is my guide to pain. And which I choose to see I will behold.

Who is my brother but Your holy Son? ²And if I see him sinful I proclaim myself a sinner, not a Son of God; alone and friendless in a fearful world. ³Yet this perception is a choice I make, and can relinquish. ⁴I can also see my brother sinless, as Your holy Son. ⁵And with this choice I see my sinlessness, my everlasting Comforter and Friend beside me, and my way secure and clear. ⁶Choose, then, for me, my Father, through Your Voice. ⁷For He alone gives judgment in Your Name. Our judgments keep us trapped in a dream of conflict and pain. It is part of the ego’s scheme to maintain the seeming reality of separation. We can free ourselves from this trap by being willing to relinquish our dedication to judgment.

We can rest in the comfort of our Father’s Love by letting His Voice judge everything on our behalf. He will help us learn that all appearances of differences are not real. In their place He will show us the reality of eternal, changeless Love where we live in safety and perfect peace.

Recognizing Our Identity Is Love

I feel the Love of God within me now.

²The Love of God is what created me. ³The Love of God is everything I am. ⁴The Love of God proclaimed me as His Son. ⁵The Love of God within me sets me free.

⁶I am not a body. ⁷I am free.
⁸For I am still as God created me. (A Course in Miracles, W-.1. See also ACIM Lesson 209 Insights.)

While we identify with a body, we are suffering from an identity crisis. We believe we are something that could never exist in reality. We are identifying with nothing. So we put all our effort trying to find meaning for our existence where it cannot be found.

By affirming that we are not a body, we free our mind to recognize the reality that our true Identity is the Love of God. The Love we are naturally extends Itself, acknowledging Its unity with all of Reality. We joyfully accept that we remain Love as Love created us.
