Walking Lightly into the Light

Open your eyes today and look upon a happy world of safety and of peace. Forgiveness is the means by which it comes to take the place of hell.

And now the way is short that yet we travel. We are close indeed to the appointed ending of the dream.

Sink into happiness as you begin these practice periods, for they hold out the sure rewards of questions answered and what your acceptance of the answer brings. Today it will be given you to feel the peace forgiveness offers, and the joy the lifting of the veil holds out to you.

Before the light you will receive today the world will fade until it disappears, and you will see another world arise you have no words to picture. Now we walk directly into light, and we receive the gifts that have been held in store for us since time began, kept waiting for today. Judgment blinds us to the Light of Love. Forgiveness takes off the blinders. Perception of lack of love is of our own making. God gave us all His Love and has not withdrawn His gift.

Love’s peace and joy are already ours. We make way to experience them through forgiveness. As we lay our judgments down and let the truth behind the made up images be revealed, we see the exquisite beauty of the Light that is our brother and we recognize the Light as our own as well. As we acknowledge the Light in our brothers and ourselves, conflict and uncertainty fade away. Everything we look upon reminds us of the changeless Love that is everywhere. And we walk lightly into the Light.

Accepting Holy Spirit’s Faith, Belief and Vision

Faith and belief and vision are the means by which the goal of holiness is reached. Through them the Holy Spirit leads you to the real world, and away from all illusions where your faith was laid. This is His direction; the only one He ever sees. And when you wander, He reminds you there is but one [direction]. His faith and His belief and vision are all for you. And when you have accepted them completely instead of yours, you will have need of them no longer. For faith and vision and belief are meaningful only before the state of certainty is reached. In Heaven they are unknown. Yet Heaven is reached through them. (A Course in Miracles, T-21.III.4. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

We see a world of bodies, of separation, because we believe in it and have given it our faith. The faith we have invested in this world makes it seem real. Yet the opposite of the oneness of Love could never be real.

The Holy Spirit’s function is to help us redirect our faith and belief from images of separation to the vision of holiness, wholeness. As we are willing to receive it, the Holy Spirit’s vision will show us our true relationship with our brother in the oneness of Love. It is this vision of our holy relationship that brings us peace. There is no conflict in the holy relationship that comes with the recognition of Love’s oneness.

As we withdraw our faith and belief in separation and direct it to seeing the oneness of Love’s creation, the dream world of separate images fades away. This is what forgiveness does. It releases our insistence on seeing our brother as a body so that we see past it to the one Love that joins us all.

Today we welcome the Holy Spirit’s vision and give it our faith and belief.

We Live in the Peace of God

God is with me. He is my Source of life, the life within, the air I breathe, the food by which I am sustained, the water which renews and cleanses me. He is my home, wherein I live and move; the Spirit which directs my actions, offers me Its Thoughts, and guarantees my safety from all pain. He covers me with kindness and with care, and holds in love the Son He shines upon, who also shines on Him. How still is he who knows the truth of what He speaks today! We can relax now. We are wholly supported by God’s Love, Which surrounds us and fills us and completes us. We have no needs because God has given us all His Love. We are perfectly safe because nothing exists in opposition to God’s Love. We are innocent because we are part of the Love of God, which cannot sin.

As we remember this, we see its truth in every brother. We welcome them into the Love we are, for Love always shares Itself. We remember we are one in Love and we experience the peace that is Love’s natural state.

Seeing Past Dreams to the Truth

Join not your brother’s dream, but join with him, and where you join His Son the Father is. Who seeks for substitutes when he perceives has lost nothing? Who would want to have the “benefits” of sickness when he has received the simple happiness of health? What God has given cannot be a loss, and what is not of Him has no effects. What, then, would you perceive within the gap? The seeds of sickness come from the belief that there is joy in separation, and its giving up would be a sacrifice. But miracles are the result when you do not insist on seeing in the gap what is not there. Your willingness to let illusions go is all the Healer of God’s Son requires. He will place the miracle of healing where the seeds of sickness were. And there will be no loss, but only gain. (A Course in Miracles, T-28.IV.10. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

God gave every part of the Sonship all of Himself. Like a hologram, every part contains the whole. As we see past dreams to the truth, we see that only God or Love could be there.

God’s Love is indivisible. We are learning that we are God’s Love and so is every brother. As we consistently return to the truth of Love’s oneness, we heal every brother and ourselves. As we let illusions of separation go, peace and love and joy come with it. Inherent in the eternal truth that only God’s Love is real lies our peace and joy and happiness. We hold to that and nothing else.

Walking the Way of Love

You do not know the way back to your Father and your Self. You have wandered alone and friendless through an alien land, seeking what you cannot find. It is not here. Yet there is a Friend Who walks with you and will never leave you comfortless. Take His hand and let Him lead you down the way of peace, which leads back to where you are at Home. Heaven is a state of Unity, of Oneness with God and all He has created. So far beyond the world of separation even the imagination cannot conceive of It, Heaven is always close at hand. Not within the dream, yet is It reflected here if you would have it so. The Holy Spirit will show you the real world, the forgiven world, wherein the Light of Heaven is reflected, if you will accept His vision in place of your own. (From the Christ Mind Book II, p. 205)

Everyone who walks this world experiences a sense of being incomplete. This is because the world is the denial of the Source of completion. There is a gnawing feeling of dissatisfaction, which is just another word for depression. We were created as Love with the purpose of extending Love. But because the world is the denial of Love, Love’s extension is impossible and dissatisfaction is inevitable.

By the grace of God, there is a way out of this seemingly hopeless scenario. We have a Friend Who remembers for us that we still remain Love and we are still connected to the Source of Love. This Friend is ever ready to guide us back out of the quagmire of false images that portray a loveless world. We can choose this dear Friend as our Guide in every moment. As we do this, we are shown that behind the false images, Love is there. It was never lost. It remains What we are. Its radiance shines through the shadows of belief that seem to say Love is lost.

Today we choose to take our dear Friend’s Hand to let Him guide us Home. We will walk with Him in the way of Love and gratitude. Our hearts will fill with joy as we remember Who we are.

Finding Peace and Joy

We will remember, as the hour strikes, our function is to let our minds be healed, that we may carry healing to the world, exchanging curse for blessing, pain for joy, and separation for the peace of God. Is not a minute of the hour worth the giving to receive a gift like this? Is not a little time a small expense to offer for the gift of everything?

Let healing be through you this very day. And as you rest in quiet, be prepared to give as you receive, to hold but what you give, and to receive the Word of God to take the place of all the foolish thoughts that ever were imagined. We are all seeking peace and joy. Whether or not we find them depends on which guide we choose to follow. If we choose to follow the ego’s dictates, to believe in separation, we are guaranteed not to find peace or joy. But if we let the Holy Spirit be our Guide with all our thoughts and actions, peace and joy are guaranteed because He will always guide us back to the acceptance of our one Self, the Son of God.

This is all we really want. And we are guaranteed to find it because we are seeking only what is Real. Because we have believed so long in the illusion of separation, we need to be shown the difference between real and unreal. Today we practice keeping our mind open to receive the Holy Spirit’s vision in place of our own perceptions. This is how we learn to recognize reality from illusion. This is how we let our minds be healed.

Letting Go of Specialness with Christ’s Vision

Comparison must be an ego device, for love makes none. Specialness always makes comparisons. It is established by a lack seen in another, and maintained by searching for, and keeping clear in sight, all lacks it can perceive. This does it seek, and this it looks upon. And always whom it thus diminishes would be your Savior, had you not chosen to make of him a tiny measure of your specialness instead. Against the littleness you see in him you stand as tall and stately, clean and honest, pure and unsullied, by comparison with what you see. Nor do you understand it is yourself that you diminish thus.

[Christ’s vision sees] the shining radiance of the Son of God, so like his Father that the memory of Him springs instantly to mind. And with this memory, the Son remembers his own creations, as like to him as he is to his Father. And all the world he made, and all his specialness, and all the sins he held in its defense against himself, will vanish as his mind accepts the truth about himself, as it returns to take their place. This is the only “cost” of truth: You will no longer see what never was, nor hear what makes no sound. Is it a sacrifice to give up nothing, and receive the Love of God forever? Here it is clearly defined how the ego thought system sees the world and how Christ’s vision sees. This is very helpful because we have mistakenly believed in the ego’s way of seeing and now we can choose a better way.

Christ’s vision comes to us as we truly want it. It is our willingness to see the truth behind all illusions of differences that brings Christ’s vision to our awareness. With Christ’s vision comes peace and eternal happiness that does not come and go.

Today we practice noticing when we have fallen into ego’s thought patterns of seeing differences and specialness. Today we hand over these mistaken ideas to the Holy Spirit to receive the truth instead. Through Christ’s vision we see innocence instead of guilt. Instead of comparing and focusing on differences, we see that every Son of God is still whole and perfect as God created them. All the worldly differences and mistaken thoughts mean nothing, because they are nothing.

We remember that only Love is real and that the ego’s thoughts mean nothing. Only in the ego’s illusions could they appear to be real. Now we choose to see past all ego thoughts to the truth.
