Accepting the Holy Spirit’s Healing Judgments

³You cannot judge. ⁴You merely can believe the ego’s judgments, all of which are false. ⁵It guides your senses carefully, to prove how weak you are; how helpless and afraid, how apprehensive of just punishment, how black with sin, how wretched in your guilt.

⁶Let [the Holy Spirit] be Judge …of everything that seems to happen to you in this world. ⁷His lessons will enable you to bridge the gap between illusions and the truth.

He will remove all faith that you have placed in pain, disaster, suffering and loss. ²He gives you vision which can look beyond these grim appearances, and can behold the gentle face of Christ in all of them. ³You will no longer doubt that only good can come to you who are beloved of God, for He will judge all happenings, and teach the single lesson that they all contain.

He will select the elements in them which represent the truth, and disregard those aspects which reflect but idle dreams. ²And He will reinterpret all you see, and all occurrences, each circumstance, and every happening that seems to touch on you in any way from His one frame of reference, wholly unified and sure. ³And you will see the love beyond the hate, the constancy in change, the pure in sin, and only Heaven’s blessing on the world. The dream of separation shows us a world of differences. To function in this world we must learn to judge the differences. We use judgment to learn what forms are beneficial and what forms are not. If we accept the ego’s judgments, it will always reinforce our sense of guilt and fear. To awaken from this hellish dream, we need to let go of our attempts to judge anything on our own.

If we let the Holy Spirit judge all things on our behalf, we will learn a different way of seeing. Instead of perceiving justifications for guilt and fear, we will learn to see evidence of the presence of Love everywhere. We will learn that only Love is real. We will learn that we are eternally safe in the changeless Love of God.

Today we choose to learn from the Judge Whose only purpose is to teach the truth that we are Love, created by Love and eternally safe. His lessons will guide us on a happy journey of return to our true Identity as Love and nothing else.

Exemplifying God’s Love and Joy

I am God’s Son, complete and healed and whole, shining in the reflection of His Love. ²In me is His creation sanctified and guaranteed eternal life. ³In me is love perfected, fear impossible, and joy established without opposite. ⁴I am the holy home of God Himself. ⁵I am the Heaven where His Love resides. ⁶I am His holy Sinlessness Itself, for in my purity abides His Own.

Ours are the eyes through which Christ’s vision sees a world redeemed from every thought of sin. ²Ours are the ears that hear the Voice for God proclaim the world as sinless. ³Ours the minds that join together as we bless the world. ⁴And from the oneness that we have attained we call to all our brothers, asking them to share our peace and consummate our joy.

We are the holy messengers of God who speak for Him, and carrying His Word to everyone whom He has sent to us, we learn that it is written on our hearts. ²And thus our minds are changed about the aim for which we came, and which we seek to serve. ³We bring glad tidings to the Son of God, who thought he suffered. ⁴Now is he redeemed. ⁵And as he sees the gate of Heaven stand open before him, he will enter in and disappear into the Heart of God. The Course leads us to recognize and accept our true Identity. It helps us realize that what we believe is our identity is false. It could never be true. Our true Identity shares His eternal joy and peace that cannot be disturbed.

While we believe in a false identity, we are called on a mission to be messengers of truth. We are called to let Love guide us in all our thoughts and actions. When we do this, we become messengers bringing the words His Voice has given us to the world.

Today we answer His Call with willingness to follow the Holy Spirit’s Voice. And we will exemplify God’s Love and joy.

Today We Let Love Light Our Way

It is God’s strength in you that is the light in which you see, as it is His Mind with which you think. ²His strength denies your weakness. ³It is your weakness that sees through the body’s eyes, peering about in darkness to behold the likeness of itself;…

Strength overlooks these things by seeing past appearances. ²It keeps its steady gaze upon the light that lies beyond them. ³It unites with light, of which it is a part. ⁴It sees itself.

³Truth is a savior and can only will for happiness and peace for everyone. ⁴It gives its strength to everyone who asks, in limitless supply. ⁵It sees that lack in anyone would be a lack in all. ⁶And so it gives its light that all may see and benefit as one. ⁷Its strength is shared, that it may bring to all the miracle in which they will unite in purpose and forgiveness and in love.

Weakness, which looks in darkness, cannot see a purpose in forgiveness and in love. ²It sees all others different from itself, and nothing in the world that it would share.

The light of strength is constant, sure as love, forever glad to give itself away, because it cannot give but to itself.

In our dream of being separate, we feel vulnerable to external forces beyond our control. This means we are in a constant state of stress, even when we think we have everything we want in the world. We believe our current situation may not last and must be protected. This sense of vulnerability comes from believing in the illusion of separation. It is not so.

In truth the strength of God is ours. We claim His strength by accepting the Holy Spirit’s help to see past appearances to the Light of Love everywhere. This Light is in us and radiates from us, His Son, to illuminate the world with the Love. When we see with this Light, we are certain of our strength and safety. We are free from a sense of vulnerability to outside forces, for we know they do not exist.

We choose to accept the strength of Love when we choose the peace of God within. We choose to let Love Light our way in all our doing.

Accepting Love’s Assignment

Listen, and hear your Father speak to you through His appointed Voice, which silences the thunder of the meaningless, and shows the way to peace to those who cannot see. ²Be still today and listen to the truth.

Hear Him today, and listen to the Word which lifts the veil that lies upon the earth, and wakes all those who sleep and cannot see. ²God calls to them through you. ³He needs your voice to speak to them, for who could reach God’s Son except his Father, calling through your Self? ⁴Hear Him today, and offer Him your voice to speak to all the multitude who wait to hear the Word that He will speak today.

Today the holy Word of God is kept through your receiving it to give away, so you can teach the world what giving means by listening and learning it of Him. ²Do not forget today to reinforce your choice to hear and to receive the Word by this reminder, given to yourself as often as is possible today:

³Let me be still and listen to the truth.
⁴I am the messenger of God today, my voice is His,
to give what I receive. (A Course in Miracles, W-106.2:1-2;5;6. See also ACIM Lesson 106 Insights.)

We all have an assignment: To let the Voice for God speak through us throughout the day, every day. It is an assignment guaranteed to bring us happiness and peace of mind. All we need do is be willing to listen to His Voice with an open mind.

His Voice will lovingly guide us to share His Love with our thoughts, words and actions. We teach by demonstration. When we listen with an open mind, the Voice of Love guides us to demonstrate that Love is in everyone, with everyone. We know we are blessed by sharing His blessing with the world. 

Today we would be His messenger, for we want to be happy and at peace.

Choosing the Goal That Leads to Happiness

God does not suffer conflict. ²Nor is His creation split in two. ³How could it be His Son could be in hell, when God Himself established him in Heaven? ⁴Could he lose what the Eternal Will has given him to be his home forever? ⁵Let us not try longer to impose an alien will upon God’s single purpose. ⁶He is here because He wills to be, and what He wills is present now, beyond the reach of time.

²No one can fail who seeks to reach the truth, and it is truth we seek to reach today. ³…we will ask to see the rising of the real world to replace the foolish images that we hold dear, with true ideas arising in the place of thoughts that have no meaning, no effect, and neither source nor substance in the truth.

Remember often that today should be a time of special gladness, and refrain from dismal thoughts and meaningless laments. ²Salvation’s time has come. ³Today is set by Heaven itself to be a time of grace for you and for the world. ⁴If you forget this happy fact, remind yourself with this:

⁵Today I seek and find all that I want.
⁶My single purpose offers it to me.
⁷No one can fail who seeks to reach the truth. (A Course in Miracles, W-131.8;10:2-3;15. See also ACIM Lesson 131 Insights.)

We have taught ourselves to believe that the dream of specialness is real. What we treasure we seek to find in meaningless forms that cannot last. Battles for supremacy occur at every level of our seeming existence — between individuals, groups, regions and nations. But when these goals are reached, they never satisfy because the ego’s underlying goal is always to seek and not find.

But our true Self has a single purpose: To be and extend God’s Love. In the dream, this purpose is fulfilled through forgiveness — removing the barriers to awareness of Love’ presence. This is how we let ourselves back into the Heaven we believed we left in search of a goal that can never be found. But we have the means to find the truth which is guaranteed by God to succeed. Today we remind ourselves that all we really want is the truth — to know that only Love is real.

The Holy Spirit Helps Us Love Our True Self

Before you make any decisions for yourself, remember that you have decided against your function in Heaven, and then consider carefully whether you want to make decisions here. ²Your function here is only to decide against deciding what you want, in recognition that you do not know. ³How, then, can you decide what you should do? ⁴Leave all decisions to the One Who speaks for God, and for your function as He knows it. ⁵So will He teach you to remove the awful burden you have laid upon yourself by loving not the Son of God, and trying to teach him guilt instead of love. ⁶Give up this frantic and insane attempt that cheats you of the joy of living with your God and Father, and of waking gladly to His Love and Holiness that join together as the truth in you, making you one with Him.

When you have learned how to decide with God, all decisions become as easy and as right as breathing. ²There is no effort, and you will be led as gently as if you were being carried down a quiet path in summer. ³Only your own volition seems to make deciding hard. ⁴The Holy Spirit will not delay in answering your every question what to do. ⁵He knows. ⁶And He will tell you, and then do it for you. ⁷You who are tired will find this is more restful than sleep. ⁸For you can bring your guilt into sleeping, but not into this

³God can communicate only to the Holy Spirit in your mind, because only He shares the knowledge of what you are with God. ⁴And only the Holy Spirit can answer God for you, for only He knows what God is. ⁵Everything else that you have placed within your mind cannot exist, for what is not in communication with the Mind of God has never been. ⁶Communication with God is life. ⁷Nothing without it is at all. The Holy Spirit is the link between the split-off mind that perceives separation as real and our right Mind which is eternally united with the Love of our Creator. We can deny the presence of this link but we cannot break it, for what God creates is eternal. The Holy Spirit is the Translator of the symbols we have made in our dream. He knows the truth of What we are is unchangeable. But the truth is incomprehensible to a sleeping mind that thinks in separate symbols.

To awaken from this dream we need to be vigilant to ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in all things. His guidance will always lead us toward Love. He shows us that guilt and fear are never justified, for they are based on illusions. If we let Him, He will decide all things on our behalf to free us from our self-made limitations. In truth, we remain the unlimited, eternal Love of God.

Accepting God’s Grace

Grace is acceptance of the Love of God within a world of seeming hate and fear. ²By grace alone the hate and fear are gone, for grace presents a state so opposite to everything the world contains, that those whose minds are lighted by the gift of grace can not believe the world of fear is real.

Oneness is simply the idea God is. ²And in His Being, He encompasses all things. ³No mind holds anything but Him. ⁴We say “God is,” and then we cease to speak, for in that knowledge words are meaningless. ⁵There are no lips to speak them, and no part of mind sufficiently distinct to feel that it is now aware of something not itself. ⁶It has united with its Source. ⁷And like its Source Itself, it merely is.

We cannot speak nor write nor even think of this at all. ²It comes to every mind when total recognition that its will is God’s has been completely given and received completely. ³It returns the mind into the endless present, where the past and future cannot be conceived. ⁴It lies beyond salvation; past all thought of time, forgiveness and the holy face of Christ. ⁵The Son of God has merely disappeared into his Father, as his Father has in him. ⁶The world has never been at all. ⁷Eternity remains a constant state. The ego is the idea of rejecting God’s Will. Grace is the acceptance of His Will. The ego’s rejection leads to the experience of lovelessness where guilt and fear are “companions” in our everyday experience. But only our belief in the ego makes this world seem real. By the grace of God, it can never be true.

Today, right now, the grace of God is available to us. We need only open our mind to receive it. Forgiveness is the means to open to accepting the Love God offers us in the now moment eternally. He so loves His Son that He gave him Help to free his troubled mind from the illusion of separation. Today we call upon the Holy Spirit to help us open our mind to the happiness, peace and Love that is already ours. And we give thanks that this is so.
