God’s Law Unites Us in Love

I am entitled to miracles.

²I am entitled to miracles because I am under no laws but God’s. ³His laws release me from all grievances, and replace them with miracles. ⁴And I would accept the miracles in place of the grievances, which are but illusions that hide the miracles beyond. ⁵Now I would accept only what the laws of God entitle me to have, that I may use it on behalf of the function He has given me.

“You might use these suggestions for specific applications of this idea:

²Behind this is a miracle to which I am entitled.
³Let me not hold a grievance against you, [name], but offer you the miracle that belongs to you instead.

God’s law is only Love is real. It is the law that unites us eternally with Him and all His Creation.

The miracle occurs when we forgive our barriers to Love. This forgiveness transforms our vision to see that we are united in God’s Love. Nothing else exists in truth. When we accept the miracle, our judgments are dispelled, conflict disappears and we see a world transformed.

We are entitled to miracles because we are God’s Son, wholly loved and wholly loving. In gratitude we accept that we are entitled to miracles.

Resting in the Power of Love

Patience

Those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait, and wait without anxiety. ²Patience is natural to the teacher of God. ³All he sees is certain outcome, at a time perhaps unknown to him as yet, but not in doubt. ⁴The time will be as right as is the answer. ⁵And this is true for everything that happens now or in the future. ⁶The past as well held no mistakes; nothing that did not serve to benefit the world, as well as him to whom it seemed to happen. ⁷Perhaps it was not understood at the time. ⁸Even so, the teacher of God is willing to reconsider all his past decisions, if they are causing pain to anyone. ⁹Patience is natural to those who trust. ¹⁰Sure of the ultimate interpretation of all things in time, no outcome already seen or yet to come can cause them fear. (A Course in Miracles, M-4.VIII.1)

Impatience is always a sign that we are identifying with the ego. It uses time to justify guilt and fear. Guilt is always about the past. Fear is about the future or impending loss. While we identify with the ego, life seems to be constant conflict between thoughts of what might happen and what we believe has happened which might happen again.

Our true Self knows that time is not real. It knows that we are perfectly safe in changeless Love. Nothing can happen to change the Self that is God’s one Son. As we let go of our fear thoughts, time becomes less and less of a distraction. Increasingly our minds are open to seeing the presence of Love in our brothers. We see the Light of Love surrounding us. We feel the joy of sharing Love without limit. We rest in the certainty of God’s Love in which we dwell.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us see past things of time and welcome the peace of mind that comes with the power of Love.

Walking with God in Peace

This day I choose to spend in perfect peace.

It does not seem to me that I can choose to have but peace today. ²And yet, my God assures me that His Son is like Himself. ³Let me this day have faith in Him Who says I am God’s Son. ⁴And let the peace I choose be mine today bear witness to the truth of what He says. ⁵God’s Son can have no cares, and must remain forever in the peace of Heaven. ⁶In His Name, I give today to finding what my Father wills for me, accepting it as mine, and giving it to all my Father’s Sons, along with me.

And so, my Father, would I pass this day with You. ²Your Son has not forgotten You. ³The peace You gave him still is in his mind, and it is there I choose to spend today. (A Course in Miracles, W-255. See also ACIM Lesson 255 Insights.)

Our Father is always with us. His peace is in us. But we are unaware of His presence while we believe we are a body in a world of conflict and loss.

Today we choose to welcome His presence by accepting the Holy Spirit’s help to forgive our mistaken beliefs. Each thought forgiven opens our mind to His peace and Love. We feel His comfort and His safety. We walk with Him in gratitude as we remember that we, along with every brother, are His beloved Son.

Remembering Our Safety in God

God is the only goal I have today.

The way to God is through forgiveness here. ²There is no other way. ³If sin had not been cherished by the mind, what need would there have been to find the way to where you are? ⁴Who would still be uncertain? ⁵Who could be unsure of who he is? ⁶And who would yet remain asleep, in heavy clouds of doubt about the holiness of him whom God created sinless? ⁷Here we can but dream. ⁸But we can dream we have forgiven him in whom all sin remains impossible, and it is this we choose to dream today. ⁹God is our goal; forgiveness is the means by which our minds return to Him at last.

And so, our Father, would we come to You in Your appointed way. ²We have no goal except to hear Your Voice, and find the way Your sacred Word has pointed out to us. (A Course in Miracles, W-256. See also ACIM Lesson 256 Insights.)

Today we choose to put the Holy Spirit in charge of our dream. Under His direction we will see the innocence of Love in our brother. As we see him we will learn that we are holy, as is he. The Holy Spirit will lovingly and gently guide us to remember our innocence as God’s extension of Himself.

We will be certain of our safety. We will remember that we remain as our Father created us — Love and nothing else.

Remembering Our Reality in the Love of God

God’s answer is some form of peace. All pain is healed; all misery replaced with joy. All prison doors are opened. And all sin is understood as merely a mistake.

Father, today we will forgive Your world, and let creation be Your Own. ²We have misunderstood all things. ³But we have not made sinners of the holy Sons of God. ⁴What You created sinless so abides forever and forever. ⁵Such are we. ⁶And we rejoice to learn that we have made mistakes which have no real effects on us. ⁷Sin is impossible, and on this fact forgiveness rests upon a certain base more solid than the shadow world we see. ⁸Help us forgive, for we would be redeemed. ⁹Help us forgive, for we would be at peace. Our true Self shares God’s peace, Love and happiness. Only our mistaken beliefs block our awareness of this Self. Our awareness will be restored as we accept His help to forgive those mistakes.

God has not retracted His gift of all of Himself. He has given us the Holy Spirit to help us forgive our errors in thought. As we accept this help, our sadness is replaced by joy. Our pain is healed. Our fear is replaced by His Love.

Our heart’s desire is to remember the Love of our Father. Today we practice pausing to welcome His peace. As we let that peace fill our mind, we are able to receive the Holy Spirit’s help to learn our mistaken thoughts have no effect on our true Reality. We remember the peace and Love that is our natural state.

Learning to Accept the Love We Are

God’s teachers have learned how to be simple. ²They have no dreams that need defense against the truth. ³They do not try to make themselves. ⁴Their joy comes from their understanding Who created them. ⁵And does what God created need defense? ⁶No one can become an advanced teacher of God until he fully understands that defenses are but foolish guardians of mad illusions. ⁷The more grotesque the dream, the fiercer and more powerful its defenses seem to be. ⁸Yet when the teacher of God finally agrees to look past them, he finds that nothing was there. ⁹Slowly at first he lets himself be undeceived. ¹⁰But he learns faster as his trust increases. ¹¹It is not danger that comes when defenses are laid down. ¹²It is safety. ¹³It is peace. ¹⁴It is joy. ¹⁵And it is God. (A Course in Miracles, M-4.VI.1)

Our dream of identifying with a body is a defense against the oneness of God’s Love. Separate images do not exist in what is uniformly one. This is why the Course teaches us that we are not a body. We are God’s Son, united with Him and His Love.

Having made the choice to believe in a separate identity, we need help from our inner Teacher to learn to see the truth beyond the illusions. Each time we let the Holy Spirit help us forgive a thought of separation, we take a step closer to letting truth dawn upon our minds. The truth sets us free to accept God’s gift of all His Love. As we we accept this gift, we become messengers of His Love.

It is a gentle process, because the Holy Spirit always leads us away from fear. His lessons help us accept the peace and happiness that is our natural state. Today we welcome His help to lay down our defenses and awaken to the safety and joy of our Life in God.

The Choice for Peace

I will step back and let Him lead the way.

There is a way of living in the world that is not here, although it seems to be. ²You do not change appearance, though you smile more frequently. ³Your forehead is serene; your eyes are quiet. ⁴And the ones who walk the world as you do recognize their own. ⁵Yet those who have not yet perceived the way will recognize you also, and believe that you are like them, as you were before.

The world is an illusion. ²Those who choose to come to it are seeking for a place where they can be illusions, and avoid their own reality. ³Yet when they find their own reality is even here, then they step back and let it lead the way. ⁴What other choice is really theirs to make? ⁵To let illusions walk ahead of truth is madness. ⁶But to let illusion sink behind the truth and let the truth stand forth as what it is, is merely sanity.

This is the simple choice we make today. ²The mad illusion will remain awhile in evidence, for those to look upon who chose to come, and have not yet rejoiced to find they were mistaken in their choice. ³They cannot learn directly from the truth, because they have denied that it is so. ⁴And so they need a Teacher Who perceives their madness, but Who still can look beyond illusion to the simple truth in them.

In every moment we have the opportunity to dismiss illusions and choose the peace of God. The chaos of this world is only a dream that is not true. The peace of God is always in us, hidden only by our choice to believe the illusions in the dream.

Let us join today in the oneness of God’s Love. In truth, this is where we live. As we make the choice for truth, we walk the world lightly in His Light. We become God’s messengers who show the way to our brothers who search for what we have found. As we accept His Love, we bring blessing to the world. We dwell in gratitude.
