We Are Loved Eternally

On my decision all salvation rests.

Father, Your trust in me has been so great, I must be worthy. You created me, and know me as I am. And yet You placed Your Son’s salvation in my hands, and let it rest on my decision. I must be beloved of You indeed. And I must be steadfast in holiness as well, that You would give Your Son to me in certainty that he is safe Who still is part of You, and yet is mine, because He is my Self.

And so, again today, we pause to think how much our Father loves us. And how dear His Son, created by His Love, remains to Him Whose Love is made complete in him. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 238, W-pII.238. See also ACIM Lesson 238 Insights.)

The world we experience as a body reflects our decision to believe in a false identity which denies our birthright as God’s Son. We reverse this decision to deny God’s Love by choosing to accept our true Identity as Love. With this decision, we save ourselves from the hell of believing that we are separate from God in a loveless world. We accept the loving Self that is God’s one Son.

This Self sees no world of separation, no bodies, no forms of any kind. It knows only the oneness of God’s changeless Love, perfectly safe at Home in Heaven. This singular decision seems like many in the ego’s world because the decision for separation is reflected as many forms in the ego’s projected world.

As we let the Holy Spirit guide our perceptions of the world, we learn to recognize they are not true. We learn to see past our misperceptions to the eternal presence of Love. By this forgiveness process we release the world from what we believed it was and take another step toward salvation of the projected world. This practice is the only meaningful use of time in the world. It is the way we reclaim our birthright as God’s Son and awaken to the reality that God’s gift of Love remains the truth of What we are.

Do I Want the Peace of Heaven?

What can it be but arrogance to think your little errors cannot be undone by Heaven’s justice? And what could this mean except that they are sins and not mistakes, forever uncorrectable, and to be met with vengeance, not with justice? Are you willing to be released from all effects of sin [belief in separation]? You cannot answer this until you see all that the answer must entail. For if you answer “yes” it means you will forego all values of this world in favor of the peace of Heaven. Not one sin would you retain. And not one doubt that this is possible will you hold dear that sin be kept in place. You mean that truth has greater value now than all illusions. And you recognize that truth must be revealed to you, because you know not what it is.

The sight of innocence makes punishment impossible, and justice sure. The Holy Spirit’s perception leaves no ground for an attack. Only a loss could justify attack, and loss of any kind He cannot see. …only justice can set up a state in which there is no loser; no one left unfairly treated and deprived, and thus with grounds for vengeance.

God’s gift of His Love is just because He gives His Love equally to all eternally. Nothing in His Creation is excluded; loss of God’s Love is impossible.

The ego is the denial of justice because it denies the equality of Love’s oneness. When we identify with the ego, our perception will always be unjust, for it will always see differences, winners and losers. The perception of some as having more than others brings guilt with it, for it is an attack on God’s gift of His Love. Peace cannot be found with the ego’s perception of the world.

Our true Self is Love and nothing else. It sees only Itself, for nothing but Love exists in truth. In every moment we choose between the ego’s perception, which denies Love, and accepting our true Self. We have taught ourselves to believe separation (sin) is real.

It is time to choose a different Teacher, One Whose curriculum is to teach only Love. His lessons teach us to let go of the value we have given everything in the world. When this undoing is complete, we see only Love. We overlook the ego’s image-making because we see no value in its illusions. When all value of the ego has been let go, we awaken to the peace of Heaven.

Finding Our Way Home to Love

You are a stranger here. But you belong to Him Who loves you as He loves Himself. Ask but my help to roll the stone away, and it is done according to His Will. We have begun the journey. Long ago the end was written in the stars and set into the Heavens with a shining Ray that held it safe within eternity and through all time as well. And holds it still; unchanged, unchanging and unchangeable.

Be not afraid. We only start again an ancient journey long ago begun that but seems new. We have begun again upon a road we travelled on before and lost our way a little while. And now we try again. Our new beginning has the certainty the journey lacked till now.

And then let us arise and go in faith along the way to Him. Now we are sure we do not walk alone. For God is here, and with Him all our brothers. Now we know that we will never lose the way again. (A Course in Miracles, C-ep.2:1-3:5;4:2-5)

We seem to be on a journey far away from Home in the ego’s fantasyland. Nothing here is real, but we are so fascinated by it that the memory of our Home is forgotten. But forgetting our Home does not mean we have lost it; it merely makes us unaware of Where we are in truth.

God has set an end to our journey through fantasyland. He has given us the means to awaken from this fantasy to recognize that we remain in the Home God created for us. In fact, we never really left His changeless Love.

The means to remember our Home is to accept the Holy Spirit’s help. Jesus demonstrated the transformation that comes by identifying with the Holy Spirit instead of the fantasies of the ego.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to guide all our thoughts and perceptions, for we would awaken to our Home in Love.

Learning to See Past Fantasies to Love’s Reality

Christ’s Second Coming, which is sure as God, is merely the correction of mistakes, and the return of sanity. It is a part of the condition that restores the never lost, and re-establishes what is forever and forever true. It is the invitation to God’s Word to take illusion’s place; the willingness to let forgiveness rest upon all things without exception and without reserve.

It is the all-inclusive nature of Christ’s Second Coming that permits it to embrace the world and hold you safe within its gentle advent, which encompasses all living things with you. There is no end to the release the Second Coming brings, as God’s creation must be limitless. Forgiveness lights the Second Coming’s way, because it shines on everything as one. And thus is oneness recognized at last.

Pray that the Second Coming will be soon, but do not rest with that. It needs your eyes and ears and hands and feet. It needs your voice. And most of all it needs your willingness. Let us rejoice that we can do God’s Will, and join together in its holy light. Behold, the Son of God is one in us, and we can reach our Father’s Love through Him. Christ’s Second Coming is not something that happens to us or the world. It comes to us automatically when we are willing to fully forgive the belief in separation. It represents our willingness to accept the Self we are as God created It.

Our responsibility is to be willing to let go of all our judgments. We cannot do this within the ego thought system, which defines our identity as separate and alone. We are not alone. We have the help in our mind of God’s Teacher Whose sole lesson plan is to teach us to recognize that separation is not real. The appearance of separate images is simply fantasies made up to make judgments justifiable. But fantasies can justify nothing.

With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can learn to see past the ego’s fantasies and dismiss them as unreal. When we have learned His lessons without exception, forgiveness is complete and the Second Coming is welcomed. We have accepted our true Self at one with God, forever safe, forever love, loved and loving.

Truth Is Powerful Healing

What is unalterable cannot change. And what is wholly sinless cannot sin.

Such is the simple truth. It does not make appeal to might nor triumph. It does not command obedience, nor seek to prove how pitiful and futile your attempts to plan defenses that would alter it. Truth merely wants to give you happiness, for such its pur­pose is. …what God wills for you must be received.

It is this fact that demonstrates that time is an illusion. For time lets you think what God has given you is not the truth right now, as it must be. The Thoughts of God are quite apart from time. For time is but another meaningless defense you made against the truth. Yet what He wills is here, and you remain as He created you.

Truth has a power far beyond defense, for no illusions can remain where truth has been allowed to enter. And it comes to any mind that would lay down its arms, and cease to play with folly. It is found at any time; today, if you will choose to practice giv­ing welcome to the truth. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 136, W-pI.136.11:7-14:3. See also ACIM Lesson 136 Insights.)

Love is truth because only Love is real. Nothing but Love exists in truth. This fact is the foundation for our salvation from the ego’s thought system of separation. The passage of time, pain and loss, fear and guilt of the ego’s world could never exist in truth. We experience this world only because we have identified with the ego’s image of a separate self instead of the Self God created one with Him.

We are not the ego. It is time to disown the ego and all its hellish gifts. By choosing Love to guide our thoughts and actions, we choose our true Identity. We choose to accept God’s gifts of happiness and peace. The fear of danger is replaced by the certainty of our safety in changeless Love.

Today we choose the power of truth and release the ego to the nothingness from which it came. We remember we are as God created us.

Walking in Love with Every Brother

This is the way salvation works. As you step back, the light in you steps forward and encompasses the world. It heralds not the end of sin in punishment and death. In lightness and in laughter is sin gone, because its quaint absurdity is seen. It is a foolish thought, a silly dream, not frightening, ridiculous perhaps, but who would waste an instant in approach to God Himself for such a senseless whim?

Yet you have wasted many, many years on just this foolish thought. The past is gone, with all its fantasies. They keep you bound no longer. The approach to God is near.

“Who walks with me?” This question should be asked a thousand times a day, till certainty has ended doubting and estab­lished peace. Today let doubting cease. God speaks for you in answering your question with these words:

I walk with God in perfect holiness. I light the world, I light my mind and all the minds which God created one with me. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 156, W-pI.156.6;7:1-4;8. See also ACIM Lesson 156 Insights.)

We bring Light to the world when we accept our true Self as the Love God created It to be. We accept Love by extending Love. Any thought of judgment stands in the way of Love’s extension.

Love is not extended to what we perceive as outside ourselves because Love sees only Oneness. Love sees no differences. It sees only Itself everywhere, in all things. The Love God is walks with us in every moment, holding us in Love’s sure protection.

Today we remind ourselves often that we walk with every brother in Love’s perfect holiness. We ask the Holy Spirit’s help to see past perceptions of differences, for we would keep no barriers against Love’s Presence. It will be a happy day indeed.

The Journey from Fear to Love

There is nothing outside you. That is what you must ultimately learn, for it is the realization that the Kingdom of Heaven is restored to you. For God created only this, and He did not depart from It nor leave It separate from Himself. The Kingdom of Heaven is the dwelling place of the Son of God, who left not his Father and dwells not apart from Him. Heaven is not a place nor a condition. It is merely an awareness of perfect Oneness, and the knowledge that there is nothing else; nothing outside this Oneness, and nothing else within.”\

The belief that you could give and get something else, something outside yourself, has cost you the awareness of Heaven and of your Identity.

Minds are joined; bodies are not. Only by assigning to the mind the properties of the body does separation seem to be possible. And it is mind that seems to be fragmented and private and alone. Its guilt, which keeps it separate, is projected to the body, which suffers and dies because it is attacked to hold the separation in the mind, and let it not know its Identity.

The mind cannot attack, but it can deceive itself. And this is all it does when it believes it has attacked the body. It can project its guilt, but it will not lose it through projection. And though [the mind] clearly can misperceive the function of the body, it cannot change its function from what the Holy Spirit establishes it to be. The body was not made by Love. Yet Love does not condemn [the body] and can use it lovingly, respecting what the Son of God has made and using [the body] to save him from illusions. As the idea of being separate from God, the ego is a thought in opposition to the Oneness of God’s Love. Believing it is opposing God brings guilt with it because it denies the innocence of Love. This is why the ego has to find a way to hide the guilt. It attempts to do this by projecting guilt outside of itself. Images of separate bodies and forms are the ego’s mechanism for projecting guilt. The problem is that guilt is still retained within the thought of opposing Love.

Only by forgiving the thought of opposition to God can the guilt be released and Love be restored to our awareness. The ego uses the myriad forms of the world to deceive the mind into believing this outer world is the cause of our guilt and fear.

The Holy Spirit’s function is to teach us to forgive these illusionary forms which seem to be the cause of our pain and suffering. No matter the form, our belief in its reality must be let go. The Holy Spirit uses each of these misperceptions as teaching opportunities to help us learn that beyond the form is the eternal presence of Love.

The practice of asking the Holy Spirit to guide all our perceptions and bring us Christ’s vision to see beyond the forms to Love’s innocence is the way to remember our Home in Heaven. it is a journey that leads from fear to Love.
