Letting Love Dawn Upon Our Mind

Let miracles replace all grievances.

²By this idea do I unite my will with the Holy Spirit’s, and perceive them as one. ³By this idea do I accept my release from hell. ⁴By this idea do I express my willingness to have all my illusions be replaced with truth, according to God’s plan for my salvation. ⁵I would make no exceptions and no substitutes. ⁶I want all of Heaven and only Heaven, as God wills me to have.

Useful specific forms for applying this idea would be:

²I would not hold this grievance apart from my salvation.
³Let our grievances be replaced by miracles, [name].
⁴Beyond this is the miracle by which all my grievances are replaced. (W-89.3–4)

When we are willing to accept the Holy Spirit’s vision in place of our perceptions, we will experience miracles. Our perceptions are transformed when we let forgiveness clear away our obstacles to awareness of Love’s presence.

Love is What we are in truth. We are not a body. We are free to be Love without limit. When we accept the Holy Spirit’s vision, we are forgiving our perceptions that are the basis of all grievances. The oneness of Love dawns upon our minds and we are free to be as God created us. We rest in His peace and joy.

Accepting the Call of Love

See no one from the battleground, for there you look on him from nowhere.

Those with the strength of God in their awareness could never think of battle. ²What could they gain but loss of their perfection? ³For everything fought for on the battleground is of the body; something it seems to offer or to own. ⁴No one who knows that he has everything could seek for limitation, nor could he value the body’s offerings. ⁵The senselessness of conquest is quite apparent from the quiet sphere above the battleground. ⁶What can conflict with everything? ⁷And what is there that offers less, yet could be wanted more? ⁸Who with the Love of God upholding him could find the choice of miracles or murder hard to make? The Love of God is What we are. When we align with our true Self, we view our world from Love’s perspective. Love sees only Love, for nothing else is real.

Whenever we engage in judgment, we are denying our Self. Judgment bring with it fear and guilt and a profound sense of loss. We can only judge when we believe we are separate from Love’s oneness. Judgment is the basis of all seeming battles.

When we step back from judgment and accept the Holy Spirit’s help to see with Love, we find the peace of God. Judgment is let go and we experience the joy of joining with Love that surrounds us and is in every brother. This is our calling today.

Remembering We Live in Peace

Today the peace of God envelops me, and I forget all things except His Love.

Father, I wake today with miracles correcting my perception of all things. ²And so begins the day I share with You as I will share eternity, for time has stepped aside today. ³I do not seek the things of time, and so I will not look upon them. ⁴What I seek today transcends all laws of time and things perceived in time. ⁵I would forget all things except Your Love. ⁶I would abide in You, and know no laws except Your law of love. ⁷And I would find the peace which You created for Your Son, forgetting all the foolish toys I made as I behold Your glory and my own.

And when the evening comes today, we will remember nothing but the peace of God. ²For we will learn today what peace is ours, when we forget all things except God’s Love. (A Course in Miracles, W-346. See also ACIM Lesson 346 Insights.)

Memory is always selective. Memory directed by the ego is always focused on the past. Mostly It remembers past hurts and losses. It may also remember a few happy memories that are tied to specific forms. This memory is the basis for all the ego’s attempts for special relationships and situations. It looks for ways to correct past loses and hurts by forming special relationships that seem to make a better memory. It totally forgets the present.

The Self God created as His Son remembers the changelessness of eternal Love in the now moment. This is the memory that we will experience as we let the Holy Spirit correct our misperceptions. No longer do we depend on some form to make us happy or bring us peace. As we remember eternal Love as our Reality, we find the peace of God which cannot be disturbed. We choose this memory today and remember we live in peace.

Accepting Our True Nature as Love

Who is the light of the world except God’s Son? ²This, then, is merely a statement of the truth about yourself. ³It is the opposite of a statement of pride, of arrogance, or of self-deception. ⁴It does not describe the self-concept you have made. ⁵It does not refer to any of the characteristics with which you have endowed your idols. ⁶It refers to you as you were created by God. ⁷It simply states the truth.

You will want to think about this idea as often as possible today. ²It is the perfect answer to all illusions, and therefore to all temptation. ³It brings all the images you have made about yourself to the truth, and helps you depart in peace, unburdened and certain of your purpose.

As many practice periods as possible should be undertaken today, although each one need not exceed a minute or two. ²They should begin with telling yourself:

³I am the light of the world. ⁴That is my only function. ⁵That is why I am here.

Today’s idea goes far beyond the ego’s petty views of what you are and what your purpose is. …⁵You are the light of the world. ⁶God has built His plan for the salvation of His Son on you. (A Course in Miracles, W-61.1;4:1–5:5;7:1,5-6. See also ACIM Lesson 61 Insights.)

As God’s Son, our function is to give Love to the world as He extends His Love to us. This is our natural function. Fear and guilt are unnatural. The only thing that stands between what we are as Love’s extension and our function is our identification with a separate identity.

In the dream of this separate identity, our function is to forgive our mistaken beliefs. Forgiveness clears away our barriers to Love’s presence. Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us let go of our mistaken beliefs. This opens the door to our natural extension of Love. This is how we bring Light to the world.

Recognizing Our Unity in Love

Healing, forgiveness, and the glad exchange of all the world of sorrow for a world where sadness cannot enter, are the means by which the Holy Spirit urges you to follow Him. ²His gentle lessons teach how easily salvation can be yours; how little practice you need undertake to let His laws replace the ones you made to hold yourself a prisoner to death. ³His life becomes your own, as you extend the little help He asks in freeing you from everything that ever caused you pain.

And as you let yourself be healed, you see all those around you, or who cross your mind, or whom you touch or those who seem to have no contact with you, healed along with you. ²Perhaps you will not recognize them all, nor realize how great your offering to all the world, when you let healing come to you. ³But you are never healed alone. ⁴And legions upon legions will receive the gift that you receive when you are healed.

Those who are healed become the instruments of healing. ²Nor does time elapse between the instant they are healed, and all the grace of healing it is given them to give. ³What is opposed to God does not exist, and who accepts it not within his mind becomes a haven where the weary can remain to rest. ⁴For here is truth bestowed, and here are all illusions brought to truth. Healing is simple. It merely accepts Reality as It is. Healing only seems difficult because we value some form we want to keep for ourself alone. This is the barrier in our mind that opposes the Will of God. It only has effect in dreams that are not real.

We can waken from fearful dreams in any moment. We have been blessed with an inner Teacher Whose purpose is to help us recognize that no form in the dream offers anything of value. As we accept the help of our inner Teacher, we become increasingly aware of the Love that is given us without limit.

We learn to see truly once again that there is no separation. We can never be alone, for we are eternally united with every brother and our Father. In this recognition comes peace that cannot be disturbed; joy without limit.

Release from Self-Made Limitations

⁷Before the greatness that lives in you, your poor appreciation of yourself and all the little offerings you give slip into nothingness.”

⁷When you have learned to accept what you are, you will make no more gifts to offer to yourself, for you will know you are complete, in need of nothing, and unable to accept anything for yourself. ⁸But you will gladly give, having received. ⁹The host of God need not seek to find anything.

If you are wholly willing to leave salvation to the plan of God and unwilling to attempt to grasp for peace yourself, salvation will be given you. ²Yet think not you can substitute your plan for His. ³Rather, join with me in His, that we may release all those who would be bound, proclaiming together that the Son of God is host to Him. ⁴Thus will we let no one forget what you would remember. ⁵And thus will you remember it.

Call forth in everyone only the remembrance of God, and of the Heaven that is in him. ²For where you would have your brother be, there will you think you are. ³Hear not his appeal to hell and littleness, but only his call for Heaven and greatness. The choice to value specialness is the choice for littleness. We imprison ourselves in a tiny box of limited time and space. God has given us the Holy Spirit to help us release ourselves from this self-imposed limitation. He will teach us how to forgive our wish for specialness. Forgiveness welcomes God’s gift of His Love, which is given without limitations.

Our judgments depend on perceiving ourselves as separate from an outside world. Today we practice accepting the Holy Spirit’s true perception which overlooks the appearance of differences. He shows us the Love the joins us with the greatness of Heaven.

Where to Find the End of Fear

Be in my mind, my Father, through the day.

Be in my mind, my Father, when I wake, and shine on me throughout the day today. ²Let every minute be a time in which I dwell with You. ³And let me not forget my hourly thanksgiving that You have remained with me, and always will be there to hear my call to You and answer me. ⁴As evening comes, let all my thoughts be still of You and of Your Love. ⁵And let me sleep sure of my safety, certain of Your care, and happily aware I am Your Son.

“This is as every day should be. ²Today, practice the end of fear. ³Have faith in Him Who is your Father. ⁴Trust all things to Him. ⁵Let Him reveal all things to you, and be you undismayed because you are His Son. (A Course in Miracles, W-232. See also ACIM Lesson 232 Insights.)

God is our Source. He created us, His Son, to remain eternally united with Himself. This means all of God’s strength, His Love, His peace and joy remain with us, His creation. There is no strength but His in truth.

But if we believe we have broken our connection with our Creator, fear is inevitable. This we do believe because we want specialness, which can only occur if we deny our oneness in God’s Love.

Today’s prayer expresses the desire to accept God’s gift. In this acceptance, we find the end of fear. We accept His Love, which is all that is real. We are grateful that this is so. We can rest in His peace.
