Accepting a Kind and Gentle Way

Truth will correct all errors in my mind. I am mistaken when I think I can be hurt in any way. I am God’s Son, whose Self rests safely in the Mind of God.

I rest in God. I rest in God today, and let Him work in me and through me, while I rest in Him in quiet and in perfect certainty. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 119, W-pI.119.1;120.1. See also ACIM Lesson 119 Insights.)

In the world it seems that most of our days are spent providing for our safety in some way. It seems that no one else will take care of our needs unless we do. We are told that we remain safe in God, though it doesn’t seem like it in the world.

The Course also tells us that God gave us His Helper Who will direct us where to go, what to do, what to say and to whom. To receive that Help, we must give up trying to do anything on our own. When we choose to open our minds in quietness to the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, we are gently led on a peaceful path.

With this Help, we learn to recognize what we don’t really need and what will be truly helpful. With the lead of this Inner Guide, we are inspired in all our doing. Struggle in the world softens. We may still be doing the same activities, but they are done with gentleness and kindness, without judgment or guilt. This comes as we remember we rest in God.
