Relax in the Quietness of God’s Garden

Father, I come to You today to seek the peace that You alone can give. I come in silence. In the quiet of my heart, the deep recesses of my mind, I wait and listen for Your Voice. My Father, speak to me today. I come to hear Your Voice in silence and in certainty and love, sure You will hear my call and answer me. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 221, W-pII.221.1. God’s Voice will always remind us of What we are — God’s extension of perfect Love, innocent, whole, in deep peace and quiet joy. As we go through our day with the many seeming distractions and images that disturb our peace, we can always step back and quiet our minds.

As we still our minds, it’s like taking a mini vacation from the chaos of the world to rest in our quiet Home in God. Our Home in God is like a spa, where we can relax in quietness and the certainty of our safety. We can let God’s peace flow through us, relieving the stress of the world of separation and helping us to relax in the quietness of God’s garden.

From this quiet respite, we can return to the world, refreshed and rejuvenated, bringing peace with us. In peace we are open to the inspiration of our true Self to guide us smoothly and easily through the day. The more frequently we pause for these mini vacations, the easier it becomes to remember our natural state of peace and remain undisturbed by the appearances of the world we see. Today is a day to practice.
