Remembering God’s Love Is Ours

Today’s idea [“I am spirit”] identifies you with your one Self. It accepts no split identity, nor tries to weave opposing factors into unity. It simply states the truth. Practice this truth today as often as you can, for it will bring your mind from conflict to the quiet fields of peace. No chill of fear can enter, for your mind has been absolved from madness, letting go illusions of a split identity.

We state again the truth about your Self [we are spirit], the holy Son of God Who rests in you; whose mind has been restored to sanity. You are the spirit lovingly endowed with all your Father’s Love and peace and joy. You are the spirit which completes Himself, and shares His function as Creator. It is impossible to be without God’s Love except in fantasies of separation. Even when we seem to be lost in dreams of isolation and lovelessness, God’s Love remains in us and around us. Only a false belief stands as a fragile veil between us and the certainty of God’s Love.

This veil is brushed aside as we accept our reality as Spirit. Spirit is one; it cannot be attacked nor divided. The Spirit we are is united with all our brothers. We are never alone; we are never without Love. As we remind ourselves often today that we are Spirit, we part the veil and remember God’s Love is ours.

Bringing Happiness to the World

Be happy, for your only function here is happiness. You have no need to be less loving to God’s Son than He Whose Love created him as loving as Himself. …pause frequently today, to tell yourself that you have now accepted happiness as your one function. And be sure that you are joining with God’s Will in doing this.

Happiness is an attribute of love. It cannot be apart from [love]. Nor can [happiness] be experienced where love is not. Love has no limits, being everywhere. And therefore joy is everywhere as well.

God, being Love, is also happiness.
And it is happiness I seek today.

The practice of letting Love be our Guide in all that we do is the practice of being happy. Asking the question, “What would Love do?” is asking for direction to bring happiness to the world. To be happy, we need only be loving.

Judgment, guilt and fear are barriers to the awareness of Love. These attitudes are based on the belief that we have succeeded in separating from Love. This is impossible because only Love is real. It is only belief that makes separation seem to be real.

The presence of fear and guilt is a sure sign that a false belief needs to be corrected. When we ask, “What would Love do?” we ask for the correction of false beliefs that deny Love. As we accept Love’s corrections, we find happiness and bring it to the world.

Returning Home to Love

All things are given you. God’s trust in you is limitless. He knows His Son. He gives without exception, holding nothing back that can contribute to your happiness. And yet, unless your will is one with His, His gifts are not received.

God’s Will does not oppose. It merely is. It is not God you have imprisoned in your plan to lose your Self. He does not know about a plan so alien to His Will. There was a need He did not understand, to which He gave an Answer. That is all. And you who have this Answer given you have need no more of anything but this.

Become the living proof of what Christ’s touch can offer everyone. God has entrusted all His gifts to you. Be witness in your happiness to how transformed the mind becomes which chooses to accept His gifts, and feel the touch of Christ. Such is your mission now. For God entrusts the giving of His gifts to all who have received them. He has shared His joy with you. And now you go to share it with the world. God has given us everything that will make us truly happy. He holds nothing back. We had the thought that maybe there was something else that would make us happy. This is the ego thought that has led us on a wild chase to find something God did not give us that would make us happy. Since God (Love) is all that is real, the ego’s quest must fail; there is nothing else but God’s gift of happiness.

Recognizing that we have chosen to pursue an impossible fantasy, God gave us the Answer to lead us out of the fantasy as soon as we are willing to give up our denial of His gifts. This Answer, the Holy Spirit, is always on alert, ready to answer our call for help to find a better way. He holds God’s plan for us to lead us back to His gifts of perfect happiness and changeless Love. We just need to place the call with willingness to accept His answer.

As we learn to accept these gifts, the joy we feel in our hearts naturally compels us to share the gifts with all our brothers. Our joy is complete and we know we are at Home in the Heart of our Creator.

Bringing Peace and Good Will to the World

The sign of Christmas is a star, a light in darkness. See [the Light] not outside of yourself, but shining in the Heaven within, and accept it as the sign the time of Christ has come. …And you need but invite Him in Who is there already, by recognizing that His Host is One. And no thought alien to His Oneness can abide with Him there. Love must be total to give Him welcome, for the Presence of holiness creates the holiness that surrounds it.

This Christmas, give the Holy Spirit everything that would hurt you. Let yourself be healed completely, that you may join with Him in healing, and let us celebrate our release together, by releasing everyone with us. Leave nothing behind, for release is total, and when you have accepted [release] with me, you will give it with me. (A Course in Miracles, T-15.XI.2:1-2,7-8;3:1-3. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

The time of Christ is the time of peace and good will, for these are attributes of Love. It is impossible to bring peace and good will to the world if we harbor fear and guilt within.

We let the time of Christ be now by bringing all our guilt and fear to the Holy Spirit within and accepting His healing Love. As we accept Christ’s loving vision, we see innocence where we saw guilt, we see peace where we saw fear and conflict. We give release as we accept release. We bring peace and good will to the world.

Remembering We Walk with God

You cannot walk the world apart from God, because you could not be without Him. He is what your life is. Where you are He is. There is one life. That life you share with Him. Nothing can be apart from Him and live.”

“This is the way salvation works. As you step back, the light in you steps forward and encompasses the world. …In lightness and in laughter is sin gone, because its quaint absurdity is seen. It is a foolish thought, a silly dream, not frightening, ridiculous perhaps, but who would waste an instant in approach to God Himself for such a senseless whim?

“Who walks with me?” This question should be asked a thousand times a day, till certainty has ended doubting and established peace. Today let doubting cease. God speaks for you in answering your question with these words:

I walk with God in perfect holiness. I light the world,
I light my mind and all the minds which God created

It doesn’t seem that we walk with God in perfect holiness. But the Course is teaching us that the way we see ourselves is a false image that denies the Self God created. We are being guided to a new vision that sees as God sees. The Course calls it Christ’s vision or the vision of the Holy Spirit. This is the vision of our true Self which knows our real Life is in God and shares His holiness. As we learn to accept this vision, the idea of guilt and punishment becomes absurd. We recognize our brothers as one with us. We walk together in the Love of God.

As we set aside the false image and let Love be our Guide in all things, we walk in peace and perfect happiness. We remember we walk with God.

We Can Remember God’s Love Is Ours

Salvation is my only function here.
God still is Love, and this is not His Will.

Your Father loves you. All the world of pain is not His Will. Forgive yourself the thought He wanted this for you. Then let the Thought with which He has replaced all your mistakes enter the darkened places of your mind that thought the thoughts that never were His Will.

Forgive all thoughts which would oppose the truth of your completion, unity and peace. You cannot lose the gifts your Father gave. You do not want to be another self. You have no function that is not of God. Forgive yourself the one you think you made. Forgiveness and salvation are the same. Forgive what you have made and you are saved. We can rest assured that God loves us wholly, without reservation nor limit. Thoughts of isolation, unworthiness, pain, conflict and loss could never be true because God still loves us. What we see in the world is inconceivable to God and therefore cannot be true.

Yet He knows that we are deeply engrossed in this dream of being apart from Him. He has given us the means to free ourselves from this mistaken dream and remember His Love. He has given us the Holy Spirit to bridge the seeming gap between what we believe is real and the truth of God’s Love.

We need only remember to let the Holy Spirit help us see past the false appearances and let them go. That is His function. He is here to show us the kindly truth that the world of separation we made only seemed to happen in a dream. As we learn this we forgive and remember we remain united with our Creator in perfect Love.

The Path to Quietness and Peace

Step back in faith and let truth lead the way. You know not where you go. But One Who knows goes with you. Let Him lead you with the rest.

Your feet are safely set upon the road that leads the world to God. Look not to ways that seem to lead you elsewhere. Dreams are not a worthy guide for you who are God’s Son. Forget not He has placed His Hand in yours, and given you your brothers in His trust that you are worthy of His trust in you. He cannot be deceived. His trust has made your pathway certain and your goal secure. You will not fail your brothers nor your Self. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 155, W-pI.155.10:3-6;13. God knows that we remain innocent, whole, and wholly loving, as He created us. He has trust in what we are because He knows that we remain one with Him. He has not changed His mind about His Creation.

We can trust that God has not forgotten us. We seem to have forgotten What we are, but He has placed in our minds a Reminder Whose function is to remind us of the Truth. We need only be willing to step back and accept the reminders that lead us on the path Home. As we do this, we remember our brothers are one with us. We join with them and bring them along in happy celebration of the Truth. The path that seemed stormy and dangerous becomes quiet and peaceful as we step back and let Him lead the way.
