Accepting the One Self

We state again the truth about your Self, the holy Son of God Who rests in you; whose mind has been restored to sanity. You are the spirit lovingly endowed with all your Father’s Love and peace and joy. You are the spirit which completes Himself, and shares His function as Creator. He is with you always, as you are with Him. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.97.2)

Remembering the truth that we are all the same Spirit of Love is the most wonderful gift that we could give and receive this holiday season. My practice for today is to focus on being willing to remember that every part of the Sonship is the same Spirit, the same Self, that completes God. To do this, it is helpful to frequently ask myself, “Am I willing to remember oneness right now?” It is only my willingness in each present moment that will free me to accept everyone as the one Spirit they truly are.

This quote from ACIM is very comforting to me. It reminds me that as I shift my allegiance from the body and the world of separation to the oneness of Spirit, the one Self I share with all in God, I will experience the Love and peace and joy that is God’s gift to all. I feel the blessing of God’s Love and in gratitude, extend it to all. I receive the gift by giving it. I accept that I am Love’s extension by extending Love. I experience the reality that giving and receiving are the same.
