Accepting God’s Gift of Perfect Peace

³God’s peace can never come where anger is, for anger must deny that peace exists. ⁴Who sees anger as justified in any way or any circumstance proclaims that peace is meaningless, and must believe that it cannot exist. ⁵In this condition, peace cannot be found. ⁶Therefore, forgiveness is the necessary condition for finding the peace of God. ⁷More than this, given forgiveness there must be peace.

…Is conflict what you want, or is God’s peace the better choice? ⁷Which gives you more? ⁸A tranquil mind is not a little gift.

⁷Forgive the world, and you will understand that everything that God created cannot have an end, and nothing He did not create is real.

⁶Now is the mighty Will of God Himself His gift to you. …⁹The Will of God is One and all there is. ¹⁰This is your heritage. …¹²God’s peace is the condition for His Will. ¹³Attain His peace, and you remember Him. (A Course in Miracles, M-20.3:3-7;4:6-8;5:7;6:6,9-10,12-13)

Forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves. It is actually an acceptance of the gift God’s gave when He created His Son. It makes way for us to remember the peace that is our natural state as God’s Son. We need not wait for this gift.

The ego sends us on myriad quests in the search for peace. But peace is never the ego’s goal. It thrives on conflict, so all the ego’s searches are intended to keep us from finding the peace we seek. The best it can offer are temporary moments that seem to be peaceful. But they do not last.

In our mind we have a Guide Who knows the way that truly leads to peace. This Guide not only leads us in the direction of success, It helps us heal our mind of mistaken beliefs which lead us astray. Today we choose the Holy Spirit as our Guide and Helper to find the peace that will help us remember we are God’s Son, and His will for us is perfect peace.

Remembering We Never Walk Alone

Forget not once this journey is begun the end is certain. ²Doubt along the way will come and go and go to come again. ³Yet is the ending sure. ⁴No one can fail to do what God appointed him to do. ⁵When you forget, remember that you walk with Him and with His Word upon your heart. ⁶Who could despair when hope like this is his? ⁷Illusions of despair may seem to come, but learn how not to be deceived by them. ⁸Behind each one there is reality and there is God. ⁹Why would you wait for this and trade it for illusions, when His Love is but an instant farther on the road where all illusions end? ¹⁰The end is sure and guaranteed by God.

You are a stranger here. ²But you belong to Him Who loves you as He loves Himself. ³Ask but my help to roll the stone away, and it is done according to His Will. ⁴We have begun the journey. ⁵Long ago the end was written in the stars and set into the Heavens with a shining Ray that held it safe within eternity and through all time as well. ⁶And holds it still; unchanged, unchanging and unchangeable.

³Now we are sure we do not walk alone. ⁴For God is here, and with Him all our brothers. ⁵Now we know that we will never lose the way again. (A Course in Miracles, C-ep.1:1-10;2;4:3-5)

We have deceived ourselves into believing that we are alone and vulnerable. We have help within our means to awaken to the certainty of our safety in the oneness of God’s Love — guaranteed.

Today we remind ourselves that our Father loves us without limit or conditions. We ask for Help from the Source of all Reality to remember our Identity remains one with our Father and every brother. We can never be alone in the changelessness of our Home in the Heaven of God’s Love.

Returning to the Love We Are

The world you see is an illusion of a world.

The body’s eyes are therefore not the means by which the real world can be seen, for the illusions that they look upon must lead to more illusions of reality. ²And so they do. ³For everything they see not only will not last, but lends itself to thoughts of sin and guilt. ⁴While everything that God created is forever without sin and therefore is forever without guilt.

²The one correction possible for false perception must be true perception. ³It will not endure. ⁴But for the time it lasts it comes to heal. ⁵For true perception is a remedy with many names. ⁶Forgiveness, salvation, Atonement, true perception, all are one. ⁷They are the one beginning, with the end to lead to Oneness far beyond themselves.

O my brothers, if you only knew the peace that will envelop you and hold you safe and pure and lovely in the Mind of God, you could but rush to meet Him where His altar is. ²Hallowed your Name and His, for they are joined here in this holy place. ³Here He leans down to lift you up to Him, out of illusions into holiness; out of the world and to eternity; out of all fear and given back to love. (A Course in Miracles, C-4.1:1;2;3:2-7;8)

We have accepted an identity as a body, which is not real. Separate from other bodies and the world, it is incapable of recognizing the reality of Love’s oneness. We need a means to awaken from this mistaken identity. True perception is the way to return to awareness of our true Identity.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit, our true Self, to help us let go of our mistaken belief in a false identity. We want to see the Light of Love that unites us with every brother and our Father. We want to remember the peace that is our natural state. We want to return to Love.

The Choice That Frees Us to Be Love

Father, my freedom is in You alone.

I did not understand what made me free, nor what my freedom is, nor where to look to find it. ²Father, I have searched in vain until I heard Your Voice directing me. ³Now I would guide myself no more. ⁴For I have neither made nor understood the way to find my freedom. ⁵But I trust in You. ⁶You Who endowed me with my freedom as Your holy Son will not be lost to me. ⁷Your Voice directs me, and the way to You is opening and clear to me at last. ⁸Father, my freedom is in You alone. ⁹Father, it is my will that I return.

Today we answer for the world, which will be freed along with us. ²How glad are we to find our freedom through the certain way our Father has established. ³And how sure is all the world’s salvation, when we learn our freedom can be found in God alone. We have a Guide in our mind Whose function is to lead us home to the Heaven of God’s Love. As long as we choose to identify with the ego, we deny the guidance that sets us free. It is time to choose once again.

Of our self we do not know the way to freedom. Today we choose to quiet our mind and welcome the guidance of God’s Voice. This is the choice that frees us to be the Love we were created to be. His Voice will lead us directly to the Heart of Love. We make this choice in gratitude for the eternal Love that is our strength and safety.

Love Supports Us Without Limit

A day devoted now to gratitude will add the benefit of some insight into the real extent of all the gains which you have made; the gifts you have received. ²Be glad today, in loving thankfulness, your Father has not left you to yourself, nor let you wander in the dark alone. ³Be grateful He has saved you from the self you thought you made to take the place of Him and His creation. ⁴Give Him thanks today.

Give thanks that He has not abandoned you, and that His Love forever will remain shining on you, forever without change. ²Give thanks as well that you are changeless, for the Son He loves is changeless as Himself. ³Be grateful you are saved. ⁴Be glad you have a function in salvation to fulfill.

³Today we smile on everyone we see, and walk with lightened footsteps as we go to do what is appointed us to do.

Receive His thanks, and you will understand how lovingly He holds you in His Mind, how deep and limitless His care for you, how perfect is His gratitude to you. ²Remember hourly to think of Him, and give Him thanks for everything He gave His Son, that he might rise above the world, remembering his Father and his Self. Think of the most loving being you can imagine fully embracing you; how safe and nurtured you feel. This brings but a faint inkling of the Love our Father holds for us, His Son. His Love shines so brightly on us that nothing is seen that could disturb our peace.

We give thanks for our Father’s Love today. We are grateful for His sure protection which guarantees that we are changeless, forever one with Himself. From this state of peacefulness, we look upon the world with Loving eyes. Today we go through our appointed doing uplifted by the Love that supports us without limit.

We Are United with God in His Love

I am God’s Son, complete and healed and whole, shining in the reflection of His Love. ²In me is His creation sanctified and guaranteed eternal life. ³In me is love perfected, fear impossible, and joy established without opposite. ⁴I am the holy home of God Himself. ⁵I am the Heaven where His Love resides. ⁶I am His holy Sinlessness Itself, for in my purity abides His Own.

Ours are the eyes through which Christ’s vision sees a world redeemed from every thought of sin. ²Ours are the ears that hear the Voice for God proclaim the world as sinless. ³Ours the minds that join together as we bless the world. ⁴And from the oneness that we have attained we call to all our brothers, asking them to share our peace and consummate our joy.

We are the holy messengers of God who speak for Him, and carrying His Word to everyone whom He has sent to us, we learn that it is written on our hearts. ²And thus our minds are changed about the aim for which we came, and which we seek to serve. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.14.1;4:1–5:2)

Here is the culmination of the thought reversal A Course in Miracles offers. We have believed that we are a body, isolated from other bodies, weak and vulnerable to change and loss.

But the Course is telling us that this belief is mistaken. Nothing has occurred that has changed God’s one Son. And we are His Son, united with Him in His Love. It is reminding us of our true Identity.

Our function is to awaken to our true Identity and offer the message that this Identity is everyone’s Identity. As we accept this fact, we recognize we share our oneness as God’s one Son.

Remembering Our Eternal Unity in Love

¹¹Holy are you, eternal, free and whole, at peace forever in the Heart of God. ¹²Where is the world, and where is sorrow now?

Is this your judgment on yourself, teacher of God? ²Do you believe that this is wholly true? ³No; not yet, not yet. ⁴But this is still your goal; why you are here. ⁵It is your function to prepare yourself to hear this Judgment and to recognize that it is true. ⁶One instant of complete belief in this, and you will go beyond belief to Certainty. ⁷One instant out of time can bring time’s end. ⁸Judge not, for you but judge yourself, and thus delay this Final Judgment. ⁹What is your judgment of the world, teacher of God? ¹⁰Have you yet learned to stand aside and hear the Voice of Judgment in yourself? ¹¹Or do you still attempt to take His role from Him? ¹²Learn to be quiet, for His Voice is heard in stillness. ¹³And His Judgment comes to all who stand aside in quiet listening, and wait for Him.

⁶There is no deceit in God. ⁷His promises are sure. ⁸Only remember that. ⁹His promises have guaranteed His Judgment, and His alone, will be accepted in the end. ¹⁰It is your function to make that end be soon. ¹¹It is your function to hold it to your heart, and offer it to all the world to keep it safe. (A Course in Miracles, M-15.1:11–2:13;3:6-11)

Everyone has an assigned function to fulfill. We have wandered down a wayward path in a dream that denies God’s eternal gift to His Son. We have accepted the ego’s judgment which tells us that have separated from our Creator and lost our way.

Now we must be willing to quiet our mind and welcome the Voice for God. It reminds us of the eternal truth that we remain united with our Father in His Love. It was given without limit when He created His Son. As we lay aside the ego’s judgments, we welcome our Father’s final judgment that we are holy, free and eternally at peace.
