The One Thought We Share with God

Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still.

Father, I come to You today to seek the peace that You alone can give. ²I come in silence. ³In the quiet of my heart, the deep recesses of my mind, I wait and listen for Your Voice. ⁴My Father, speak to me today. ⁵I come to hear Your Voice in silence and in certainty and love, sure You will hear my call and answer me.

Now do we wait in quiet. ²God is here, because we wait together. ³I am sure that He will speak to you, and you will hear. ⁴Accept my confidence, for it is yours. ⁵Our minds are joined. ⁶We wait with one intent; to hear our Father’s answer to our call, to let our thoughts be still and find His peace, to hear Him speak to us of what we are, and to reveal Himself unto His Son. Most of us experience a constant stream of thoughts in our mind. The Course tells us we are far too tolerant of mind wandering. The attention we give to the thoughts that stream in our mind blocks us from being aware of the one Thought we think with God.

God’s singular Thought, which He shares with His Son, is the Thought of Love. Within this Thought is the greatest joy and deepest peace that we could possibly experience. It is the condition in which our true Self dwells in the Heart of God. In every instant God welcomes us into His Home. But we must be willing to set aside the ego’s stream of distracting thoughts, even if it’s only for an instant. We prepare for this instant by quieting our mind, stepping back from the chaos of the world.

As we let the peace of God that dwells in us come forward in our mind, we join with the Holy Spirit’s Love that also dwells in every brother. In peace we experience God’s gift of Love’s oneness. We feel His strength supporting us. We remember we are being carried by His Love. Our hearts overflow with gratitude for God’s gifts. The Light of Love shines all around us and we experience the real world forgiveness reveals to us.

Today we seek to join with God’s one Thought. It will be a day blessed by Love.

We Celebrate Christ in Everyone

You are a stranger here. ²But you belong to Him Who loves you as He loves Himself. ³Ask but my help to roll the stone away, and it is done according to His Will. ⁴We have begun the journey. ⁵Long ago the end was written in the stars and set into the Heavens with a shining Ray that held it safe within eternity and through all time as well. ⁶And holds it still; unchanged, unchanging and unchangeable.

Let us go out and meet the newborn world, knowing that Christ has been reborn in it, and that the holiness of this rebirth will last forever. ²We had lost our way but He has found it for us. ³Let us go and bid Him welcome Who returns to us to celebrate salvation and the end of all we thought we made. ⁴The morning star of this new day looks on a different world where God is welcomed and His Son with Him. ⁵We who complete Him offer thanks to Him, as He gives thanks to us. ⁶The Son is still, and in the quiet God has given him enters his home and is at peace at last. (A Course in Miracles, C-ep.2;5)

Today we celebrate the rebirth of Christ in our holy mind.

We lost our way in a dream of separation from Love. But Christ within, the Son of God, our true Self was never lost.

We make this day a celebration of Christ by accepting God’s Love for us and sharing It with the world. Judgment gives way to the joyous exchange of Love. Conflict is dispelled as the peace of God washes over us. Loneliness fades away as the joy of joining with the Love in every brother brings us Home to the Heart of God.

And we accept God’s eternal blessing.

Identifying with Christ, Our True Self

Jesus is the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, Whom he called down upon the earth after he ascended into Heaven, or became completely identified with the Christ, the Son of God as He created Him. ²The Holy Spirit, being a creation of the one Creator, creating with Him and in His likeness or spirit, is eternal and has never changed. ³He was “called down upon the earth” in the sense that it was now possible to accept Him and to hear His Voice. ⁴His is the Voice for God, and has therefore taken form. ⁵This form is not His reality, which God alone knows along with Christ, His real Son, Who is part of Him.

²He has established Jesus as the leader in carrying out His plan since he was the first to complete his own part perfectly. ³All power in Heaven and earth is therefore given him and he will share it with you when you have completed yours.

You are [the Holy Spirit’s] manifestation in this world. ²Your brother calls to you to be His Voice along with him. ³Alone he cannot be the Helper of God’s Son for he alone is functionless. ⁴But joined with you he is the shining Savior of the world, Whose part in its redemption you have made complete. ⁵[The Holy Spirit] offers thanks to you as well as him for you arose with him when he began to save the world. (A Course in Miracles, C-6.1;2:2-3;5:1-5)

We ascend into Heaven when we completely identify with Christ, the Son of God. No part of our mind seeks anything other than to be part of the eternal giving and receiving of God’s Love. We celebrate Christ today by welcoming the presence of Love within and giving It to all without limit. This is our part in the salvation of the world.

We join with the Holy Spirit in our mind to see the truth of Love in every brother. Love does not judge whether anyone is worthy, for It sees only the truth in everyone. Love sees only Love.

Let’s join to celebrate the presence of Christ in our mind by accepting the Holy Spirit’s help to let go of beliefs that seem to separate us from our brothers. Without those interfering beliefs, the giving and receiving of Love flows freely and we remember the Heaven that is our Home.

Being Messengers of Good Will

My true Identity abides in You.

Father, I made an image of myself, and it is this I call the Son of God. ²Yet is creation as it always was, for Your creation is unchangeable. ³Let me not worship idols. ⁴I am he my Father loves. ⁵My holiness remains the light of Heaven and the Love of God. ⁶Is not what is beloved of You secure? ⁷Is not the light of Heaven infinite? ⁸Is not Your Son my true Identity, when You created everything that is?

Now are we one in shared Identity, with God our Father as our only Source, and everything created part of us. ²And so we offer blessing to all things, uniting lovingly with all the world, which our forgiveness has made one with us. (A Course in Miracles, W-283. See also ACIM Lesson 283 Insights.)

We bring peace and good will to all the world by being our true Self as God created us. The most natural thing in all the universe is to be and extend Love because only Love is real.

When we judge, feel guilty or experience fear, we have replaced our true Identity with a false image in a dream that could never be true. In this loveless dream, everyone is hungry for Love. The greatest gift we can give ourselves and the world is to accept God’s gift of all His Love. This is how we awaken to our true Identity.

While we believe the dream is real, we need to lift the veil that hides the presence of Love by forgiving our mistaken beliefs in lovelessness. We do not do this alone. The Holy Spirit is with us. His function is to help us recognize and release our false beliefs. With this release we join in the eternal giving and receiving of Love. Each time we lift a veil of mistaken belief, we bring the message of peace on earth and goodwill toward all mankind.

Love and Justice Are the Same

⁵In God’s Own justice does [the Holy Spirit] recognize all you deserve, but understands as well that you cannot accept it for yourself. ⁶It is His special function to hold out to you the gifts the innocent deserve. ⁷And every one that you accept brings joy to Him as well as you. ⁸He knows that Heaven is richer made by each [gift of innocence] you accept. ⁹And God rejoices as His Son receives what loving justice knows to be his due. ¹⁰For love and justice are not different. ¹¹Because they are the same does mercy stand at God’s right Hand, and gives the Son of God the power to forgive himself of sin.

You have the right to all the universe; to perfect peace, complete deliverance from all effects of sin, and to the life eternal, joyous and complete in every way, as God appointed for His holy Son. ²This is the only justice Heaven knows, and all the Holy Spirit brings to earth. ³Your special function shows you nothing else but perfect justice can prevail for you. ⁴And you are safe from vengeance in all forms. ⁵The world deceives, but it cannot replace God’s justice with a version of its own. ⁶For only love is just, and can perceive what justice must accord the Son of God. ⁷Let love decide, and never fear that you, in your unfairness, will deprive yourself of what God’s justice has allotted you. Love does not condemn nor demand punishment. The Love that is our true Self dismisses the ego’s antics as meaningless. Any appearance in the world that the ego deems punishable, Love sees only as a call for Love. Being just, Love answers every call for Love with Love.

With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can let go of the ego’s habit of condemning and punishing. As we let Love guide our thoughts and perceptions, our world is transformed. Instead of dangers that must be defended against, Love sees joyous opportunities to join with Itself in every brother. In the glad exchange of Love, peace replaces conflict. We remember our true Self.

Today we call upon the Holy Spirit to help us be messengers of Love and justice, for we would remember our innocence as God’s Son.

Remembering Who We Are

God goes with me wherever I go.

²How can I be alone when God always goes with me? ³How can I be doubtful and unsure of myself when perfect certainty abides in Him? ⁴How can I be disturbed by anything when He rests in me in absolute peace? ⁵How can I suffer when love and joy surround me through Him? ⁶Let me not cherish illusions about myself. ⁷I am perfect because God goes with me wherever I go.

God is my strength. ²Vision is His gift.

³Let me not look to my own eyes to see today. ⁴Let me be willing to exchange my pitiful illusion of seeing for the vision that is given by God. ⁵Christ’s vision is His gift, and He has given it to me. ⁶Let me call upon this gift today, so that this day may help me to understand eternity. It is time to stop denying God’s gifts. This denial has caused us to be doubtful, unsure of ourself and fearful in a world of uncertainty. It has caused us to see false images in the world in place of seeing the presence of Love that Christ’s vision shows us. All this comes with the quest for specialness.

When we become willing to accept God’s gift of all of Himself, we remember the certainty, safety and comfort that is ours in the Home that God created for us with His Love. We need to be willing to let go of our mistaken wish for specialness. It does not lead to anything we really want.

With willingness to welcome the vision of Christ, we see that we are indeed surrounded by God’s Love. We see It in every brother and remember It is in our true Self as well. God’s peace and happiness replaces the struggle that comes when we try to find it in specialness. It is not there to be found. God’s joy and peace need only be accepted to be known. In this acceptance we remember Who we are. We know we are safe and we are loved. We are Home eternally.

Include Everyone in Our Circle of Love

The only part of your mind that has reality is the part that links you still with God. ²Would you have all of [your mind] transformed into a radiant message of God’s Love, to share with all the lonely ones who have denied Him? ³God makes this possible. …⁸Leave the world of death behind, and return quietly to Heaven. ⁹There is nothing of value here, and everything of value there. ¹⁰Listen to the Holy Spirit, and to God through Him. ¹¹He speaks of you to you. ¹²There is no guilt in you, for God is blessed in His Son as the Son is blessed in Him.

Everyone has a special part to play in the Atonement, but the message given to each one is always the same; God’s Son is guiltless. ²Each one teaches the message differently, and learns it differently. ³Yet until he teaches it and learns it, he will suffer the pain of dim awareness that his true function remains unfulfilled in him. ⁴The burden of guilt is heavy, but God would not have you bound by it. ⁵His plan for your awaking is as perfect as yours is fallible. ⁶You know not what you do, but He Who knows is with you. ⁷His gentleness is yours, and all the love you share with God He holds in trust for you. ⁸He would teach you nothing except how to be happy.

God gave us all of His peace, His joy and His Love. If we are not experiencing this, we are in some way denying His gift. We are not fulfilling our function to extend the gift He has given,

Are we willing to give up our addiction to judgment and guilt? We pay a steep price for this addiction—lack of peace, unhappiness, loneliness and a sense of not being loved. This is of our own making.

It is not God’s Will for us.

We join with our brothers today with willingness to fulfill our function—to lay down our judgments and be God’s messengers by including every brother in His circle of Love.
