Taking Christ’s Hand to Follow Him Home

The Christ in you is very still. ²He knows where you are going, and He leads you there in gentleness and blessing all the way. ³His Love for God replaces all the fear you thought you saw within yourself.

⁶His perfect lack of specialness He offers you, that you may save all living things from death, receiving from each one the gift of life that your forgiveness offers to your Self. ⁷The sight of Christ is all there is to see. ⁸The song of Christ is all there is to hear. ⁹The hand of Christ is all there is to hold. ¹⁰There is no journey but to walk with Him.

You who would be content with specialness, and seek salvation in a war with love, consider this: The holy Lord of Heaven has Himself come down to you, to offer you your own completion. ²What is His is yours because in your completion is His Own. ³He Who willed not to be without His Son could never will that you be brotherless. ⁴And would He give a brother unto you except he be as perfect as yourself, and just as like to Him in holiness as you must be?

The truth in every brother is the truth in our Self. That Self is the Son of God which unites us with every brother. The Christ within knows of our unity and sees only that unity in Love.  As we let the Christ in us lead us Home, we recognize the innocence in everyone.

Christ has no wish for specialness. He shares His oneness with all. As we let Him lead the way, we bring holiness to the world to heal thoughts of fear and guilt. Today we welcome Christ’s lead as we take His hand, accept His vision, and follow Him back to a full recognition of our oneness with our Creator and every brother.

The Only Purpose That Leads to Heaven

The real world is the state of mind in which the only purpose of the world is seen to be forgiveness. ²Fear is not its goal, for the escape from guilt becomes its aim. ³The value of forgiveness is perceived and takes the place of idols, which are sought no longer, for their “gifts” are not held dear. ⁴No rules are idly set, and no demands are made of anyone or anything to twist and fit into the dream of fear. ⁵Instead, there is a wish to understand all things created as they really are. ⁶And it is recognized that all things must be first forgiven, and then understood.

⁷The world becomes a place of hope, because its only purpose is to be a place where hope of happiness can be fulfilled. ⁸And no one stands outside this hope, because the world has been united in belief the purpose of the world is one which all must share, if hope be more than just a dream.

Not yet is Heaven quite remembered, for the purpose of forgiveness still remains. ²Yet everyone is certain he will go beyond forgiveness, and he but remains until it is made perfect in himself.

²The real world is a state in which the mind has learned how easily do idols go when they are still perceived but wanted not. ³How willingly the mind can let them go when it has understood that idols are nothing and nowhere, and are purposeless. ⁴For only then can guilt and sin be seen without a purpose, and as meaningless.

Thus is the real world’s purpose gently brought into awareness, to replace the goal of sin and guilt. ²And all that stood between your image of yourself and what you are, forgiveness washes joyfully away. (A Course in Miracles, T-30.V.1;2:7–3:2;5:2–6:2. See also ACIM Text Made Simple.)

At its core, the only thought that needs forgiveness is the wish for specialness — the wish to have something we alone possess as a unique identity. This wish takes many forms in the ego’s dream. But as we recognize these idols have no substance, no value, we easily let them go.

With this release, our mind is freed to see the reality of Love that keeps us eternally united with our Creator. Thus forgiveness reunites us with every brother. This unity is all that we value. Awareness of our oneness brings peace and joy with it. There no longer is cause for conflict. And we experience the joy of sharing the eternal flow of Love.

Remembering We Are One with God

No miracle can ever be denied to those who know that they are one with God. ²No thought of theirs but has the power to heal all forms of suffering in anyone, in times gone by and times as yet to come, as easily as in the ones who walk beside them now. ³Their thoughts are timeless, and apart from distance as apart from time.

We join in this awareness as we say that we are one with God. ²For in these words we say as well that we are saved and healed; that we can save and heal accordingly. ³We have accepted, and we now would give. ⁴For [by giving] we would keep the gifts our Father gave. ⁵Today we would experience ourselves at one with Him, so that the world may share our recognition of reality. ⁶In our experience the world is freed. ⁷As we deny our separation from our Father, it is healed along with us.

Peace be to you today. ²Secure your peace by practicing awareness you are one with your Creator, as He is with you. (A Course in Miracles, W-124.6:1–8:2. See also ACIM Lesson 124 Insights.)

Our identification with the body as our identity is a barrier that makes us unaware that we remain one with God. When we remind ourselves that we are not a body, we open our mind to awareness of our oneness with our Creator.

In this awareness, we accept His gifts of Love, peace and joy. The acceptance becomes our experience when we offer these gifts to every brother. We are together one as God’s one Son in the Mind of Love that is our Creator. This shift in awareness is the only meaningful purpose every day.

The Lessons That Awaken Us to Love

Creation is the sum of all God’s Thoughts, in number infinite, and everywhere without all limit. ²Only love creates, and only like itself. ³There was no time when all that it created was not there. ⁴Nor will there be a time when anything that it created suffers any loss. ⁵Forever and forever are God’s Thoughts exactly as they were and as they are, unchanged through time and after time is done.

Creation is the opposite of all illusions, for creation is the truth. ²Creation is the holy Son of God, for in creation is His Will complete in every aspect, making every part container of the whole.

We are creation; we the Sons of God. ²We seem to be discrete, and unaware of our eternal unity with Him. ³Yet back of all our doubts, past all our fears, there still is certainty. ⁴For love remains with all its Thoughts, its sureness being theirs. ⁵God’s memory is in our holy minds, which know their oneness and their unity with their Creator. ⁶Let our function be only to let this memory return, only to let God’s Will be done on earth, only to be restored to sanity, and to be but as God created us. We are the Sons of God, united with all His Love, in perfect oneness. The image of a body that is born and dies is not God’s Son. Our identification with this image makes us unaware of our true Self. Our only meaningful purpose in this dream life of separate bodies is to remember that our true Self remains Love, forever united with our Creator.

This acceptance of this fact returns us to sanity; returns us to the peace of God and the joy of being Love.  We want to learn the lessons that undo our mistaken beliefs. We want to return to Love.

Being Grateful for the Love That Unites Us

Love is the way I walk in gratitude.

Your gratitude is due to Him alone Who made all cause of sorrow disappear throughout the world. …Who offers you the certain means whereby all pain is healed, and suffering replaced with laughter and with happiness.

Walk, then, in gratitude the way of love. ²For hatred is forgotten when we lay comparisons aside. ³What more remains as obstacles to peace? ⁴The fear of God is now undone at last, and we forgive without comparing. ⁵Thus we cannot choose to overlook some things, and yet retain some other things still locked away as “sins.” ⁶When your forgiveness is complete you will have total gratitude, for you will see that everything has earned the right to love by being loving, even as your Self.

Our gratitude will pave the way to Him, and shorten our learning time by more than you could ever dream of. ²Gratitude goes hand in hand with love, and where one is the other must be found. ³For gratitude is but an aspect of the Love which is the Source of all creation. Comparison is a key tool of the ego to reinforce belief in separation. It is the basis for all fear and guilt. It maintains a sense of difference between ourself and all the world.

But Love can make no comparisons because It sees only Itself in Love’s oneness. What is all the same leaves no room for comparisons. The Love we are unites us in Its oneness.

The joy that comes from remembering we are Love is expressed in gratitude to our Creator. The Source of joy is ours now. In our gratitude we recognize the gift that was ours in our Creation and never withdrawn. We are grateful that we remain Love as Love created us.

The Decision to Remember Love’s Oneness

Heaven is the decision I must make.

Heaven is chosen consciously. ²The choice cannot be made until alternatives are accurately seen and understood. ³All that is veiled in shadows must be raised to understanding, to be judged again, this time with Heaven’s help. ⁴And all mistakes in judgment that the mind had made before are open to correction, as the truth dismisses them as causeless. ⁵Now are they without effects. ⁶They cannot be concealed, because their nothingness is recognized.

The conscious choice of Heaven is as sure as is the ending of the fear of hell, when it is raised from its protective shield of unawareness, and is brought to light.

We make the choice for Heaven as we wake, and spend five minutes making sure that we have made the one decision that is sane. ²We recognize we make a conscious choice between what has existence and what has nothing but an appearance of the truth.

⁵Heaven is the decision I must make. ⁶I make it now, and will not change my mind, because it is the only thing I want. (A Course in Miracles, W-138.9:1–10:1;11:1-2;12:5-6. See also ACIM Lesson 138 Insights.)

All the images in this world which we have judged as real are mistakes in judgment. These judgments must be taken to the Voice for truth in us to be judged again by the Holy Spirit. This seems to be a never ending need because of the myriad images we perceive.

But by diligently practicing taking all our perceptions to our Teacher within to be judged truly, we learn that they really are all the same decision; the images are unreal. Our learning generalizes. We recognize that all choices between the images of the world and the truth are the same. We realize only truth is true and the world of images is dismissed as meaningless. With this recognition we make the one decision that releases all the mistaken decisions of the past. We decide for the oneness of God’s Love in Heaven.

Letting Christ’s Vision Show Us Love’s Presence

The Holy Spirit offers you release from every problem that you think you have. ²They are the same to Him because each one, regardless of the form it seems to take, is a demand that someone suffer loss and make a sacrifice that you might gain. ³And when the situation is worked out so no one loses is the problem gone, because it was an error in perception that now has been corrected. ⁴One mistake is not more difficult for Him to bring to truth than is another. ⁵For there _is_ but one mistake; the whole idea that loss is possible, and could result in gain for anyone. ⁶If this were true, then God would be unfair; sin would be possible, attack be justified and vengeance fair.

This one mistake, in any form, has one correction. ²There is no loss; to think there is, is a mistake. ³You have no problems, though you think you have. ⁴And yet you could not think so if you saw them vanish one by one, without regard to size, complexity, or place and time, or any attribute which you perceive that makes each one seem different from the rest. ⁵Think not the limits you impose on what you see can limit God in any way.

The miracle of justice can correct all errors. ²Every problem is an error. ³It does injustice to the Son of God, and therefore is not true. ⁴The Holy Spirit does not evaluate injustices as great or small, or more or less. ⁵They have no properties to Him. ⁶They are mistakes from which the Son of God is suffering, but needlessly. ⁷And so He takes the thorns and nails away. ⁸He does not pause to judge whether the hurt be large or little. ⁹He makes but one judgment; that to hurt God’s Son must be unfair and therefore is not so. Our only problem is that we believe we have separated from our Creator. We do not see ourselves as the Son of God. This belief makes a world of separate bodies that seem to exist in different times and places where harm is possible.

Meanwhile, our true Self remains united with our Creator, eternally Love, unchanged and unchangeable. We are forever safe in His Love. By the grace of God, our beliefs do not change reality. We have taught ourselves to believe what could never be true. But we have been given a Teacher Who can help us unlearn the mistaken beliefs that have brought us pain and suffering.

Today we practice reminding ourselves that what the body shows us is not real. We choose instead the Vision of Christ to see the Presence of Love beyond all forms.
