Welcoming Holy Spirit’s True Perception

God is my Source. I cannot see apart from Him.

Perception is not an attribute of God. ²His is the realm of knowledge. ³Yet He has created the Holy Spirit as the Mediator between perception and knowledge. ⁴Without this link with God, perception would have replaced knowledge forever in your mind. ⁵With this link with God, perception will become so changed and purified that it will lead to knowledge. ⁶That is [perception’s] function as the Holy Spirit sees it. ⁷Therefore, that is its function in truth.

In God you cannot see. ²Perception has no function in God, and does not exist. ³Yet in salvation, which is the undoing of what never was, perception has a mighty purpose. ⁴Made by the Son of God for an unholy purpose, it must become the means for the restoration of his holiness to his awareness. ⁵Perception has no meaning. ⁶Yet does the Holy Spirit give it a meaning very close to God’s. ⁷Healed perception becomes the means by which the Son of God forgives his brother, and thus forgives himself.

You cannot see apart from God because you cannot be apart from God. ²Whatever you do you do in Him, because whatever you think, you think with His Mind. ³If vision is real, and it is real to the extent to which it shares the Holy Spirit’s purpose, then you cannot see apart from God. In truth, we cannot be apart from God. But in this world we seem to be disconnected from Him. We seek for His Love, and fear His judgment. Yet God does not judge. He knows us as an extension of Himself, one and the same.

While we believe we exist in this world as a separate identity, we need help to forgive our misperceptions. This help is the function of the Holy Spirit. He has been given us to heal our conflicted mind. His true perception shows us that what we believe happened never occurred in truth. We remain irreversibly united with our Father, one with Him and every brother.

The replacement of misperception with true perception is the forgiveness we need to awaken to our true Self. With true perception, we see the Love that is our brother, and recognize it as our own.  We give thanks to the Holy Spirit for His help and dedicate today to welcoming His true perception.

Welcoming Love’s True Perception

You have been told to bring the darkness to the light, and guilt to holiness. ²And you have also been told that error must be corrected at its source. ³Therefore, it is the tiny part of yourself, the little thought [of guilt] that seems split off and separate, the Holy Spirit needs.

³Its thinness and transparency are not apparent until you see the light behind it. ⁴And then you see [guilt] as a fragile veil before the light.

This world of light, this circle of brightness is the real world, where guilt meets with forgiveness. ²Here the world outside is seen anew, without the shadow of guilt upon it. ³Here are you forgiven, for here you have forgiven everyone. ⁴Here is the new perception, where everything is bright and shining with innocence, washed in the waters of forgiveness, and cleansed of every evil thought you laid upon it. ⁵Here there is no attack upon the Son of God, and you are welcome. ⁶Here is your innocence, waiting to clothe you and protect you, and make you ready for the final step in the journey inward. ⁷Here are the dark and heavy garments of guilt laid by, and gently replaced by purity and love. Guilt is the thought behind all misery and pain. It is built upon a mistaken belief that we have succeeded in separating from the Love that created us. This could never be true except in dreams. We remain as God created us.

While we believe we are in the dream, we need the means to let go of our mistaken beliefs. We have been given a Helper to help us forgive the mistaken thoughts that hide the eternal presence of Love.

Today we pray for Holy Spirit’s help to heal our fear based thoughts. As we hold His hand, we look with Him upon our guilt and fear and welcome His Light which reveals their nothingness. Each time we judge or interpret anything in the dream, we offer to Him for His purification.

The Light He shines reveals the Love beyond the judgment that seemed to separate us from our Source. As we accept His help, we welcome the Light of Love in the real world. We awaken to the Self Love created us to be.

Learning to See the Love That Unites Us

God is in everything I see because God is in my mind.

The idea for today is the springboard for vision. ²From this idea will the world open up before you, and you will look upon it and see in it what you have never seen before. ³Nor will what you saw before be even faintly visible to you.

Today we are trying to use a new kind of “projection.” ²We are not attempting to get rid of what we do not like by seeing it outside. ³Instead, we are trying to see in the world what is in our minds, and what we want to recognize is there. ⁴Thus, we are trying to join with what we see, rather than keeping it apart from us. ⁵That is the fundamental difference between vision and the way you see.

Real vision is not only unlimited by space and distance, but it does not depend on the body’s eyes at all. ²The mind is its only source. (A Course in Miracles, W-30.1–2;5:1-2. See also ACIM Lesson 30 Insights.)

The body’s eyes cannot show us the truth. Real vision comes from the Mind of Love. It sees only Love because only Love is real. This vision shows us our eternal connection with the truth in every brother and with our Source.

When we accept real vision in our mind, we will recognize the Love that is in everything we see. The body and what it sees are not real in truth. We need to learn what the body’s eyes see is secondary. We need to learn to let our inner vision from the mind of Love be primary. This shift in focus comes as we forgive the misperceptions our body’s eyes show us.

Nothing the body’s show us is real so they have no effect on our Self That is God’s Son. Today we welcome Love’s vision as we see we are one with every brother.

Gratitude for Our Unity with God

Christ is God’s Son as He created Him. ²He is the Self we share, uniting us with one another, and with God as well. ³He is the Thought which still abides within the Mind that is His Source. ⁴He has not left His holy home, nor lost the innocence in which He was created. ⁵He abides unchanged forever in the Mind of God.

Christ is the link that keeps you one with God, and guarantees that separation is no more than an illusion of despair, for hope forever will abide in Him. ²Your mind is part of His, and His of yours. ³He is the part in which God’s Answer lies; where all decisions are already made, and dreams are over. ⁴He remains untouched by anything the body’s eyes perceive. ⁵For though in Him His Father placed the means for your salvation, yet does He remain the Self Who, like His Father, knows no sin.

Home of the Holy Spirit, and at home in God alone, does Christ remain at peace within the Heaven of your holy mind. ²This is the only part of you that has reality in truth. ³The rest is dreams. ⁴Yet will these dreams be given unto Christ, to fade before His glory and reveal your holy Self, the Christ, to you at last. (A Course in Miracles, W-pII.6.1–3)

In gratitude we acknowledge that our one Self remains eternally united with our Creator. All of His peace, joy and Love are ours. Today we accept the opportunity to forgive our mistaken beliefs which thought it possible to be alone and loveless.

Hallucinations do not change Reality, and we give thanks that this is so. Through forgiveness today can be a time to rejoice in our freedom to be Love and nothing else.

Illuminating the World with Love

Salvation requires the acceptance of but one thought;—you are as God created you, not what you made of yourself. ²Whatever evil you may think you did, you are as God created you. ³Whatever mistakes you made, the truth about you is unchanged. ⁴Creation is eternal and unalterable. ⁵Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God. ⁶You are and will forever be exactly as you were created. ⁷Light and joy and peace abide in you because God put them there.

…for the first five minutes of every waking hour, begin by stating the truth about your creation:

²Light and joy and peace abide in me.
³My sinlessness is guaranteed by God.

⁴Then put away your foolish self-images, and spend the rest of the practice period in trying to experience what God has given you, in place of what you have decreed for yourself.

You are what God created or what you made. ²One Self is true; the other is not there. ³Try to experience the unity of your one Self. ⁴Try to appreciate Its Holiness and the love from which It was created. ⁵Try not to interfere with the Self which God created as you, by hiding Its majesty behind the tiny idols of evil and sinfulness you have made to replace It. ⁶Let It come into Its Own. ⁷Here you are; This is You. ⁸And light and joy and peace abide in you because this is so. Our one Self is always at peace because, in Its unity, there is no conflict nor division. This Self represents our unity with everyone and everything that God created. There is only one Life, and that we live in God. This is our safety and our happiness.

Today we are asked to loosen our insistence on the value of images in this world. As we let them fade in their importance, the light of Love shines from within us and illuminates our world with happiness and Love.

Our Single Purpose Is to Extend Love

The beautiful relationship you have with all your brothers is a part of you because it is a part of God Himself.

Either there is a gap between you and your brother, or you are as one. ²There is no in between, no other choice, and no allegiance to be split between the two. …[the body] can be seen as not your home, but merely as an aid to help you reach the home where God abides.

With this as purpose is the body healed. ²It is not used to witness to the dream of separation and disease. ³Nor is it idly blamed for what it did not do. ⁴It serves to help the healing of God’s Son, and for this purpose it cannot be sick. ⁵It will not join a purpose not your own, and you have chosen that it not be sick. ⁶All miracles are based upon this choice, and given you the instant it is made. ⁷No forms of sickness are immune, because the choice cannot be made in terms of form. ⁸The choice of sickness seems to be of form, yet it is one, as is its opposite. ⁹And you are sick or well, accordingly.

…the body can be seen as what it is, and neither less nor more in worth than the extent to which it can be used to liberate God’s Son unto his home. ⁸And with this holy purpose is it made a home of holiness a little while, because it shares your Father’s Will with you. We have a single purpose in this world — to free ourselves to be Love and nothing else. As we use the body as the means to express Love and kindness in the world, our minds are healed. And the world is healed along with us.

Today we ask the Holy Spirit to help us let go of our barriers to Love and be Love’s messenger in the world.

Choosing Love’s Oneness by Forgiving

It is God’s strength in you that is the light in which you see, as it is His Mind with which you think. ²His strength denies your weakness. ³It is your weakness that sees through the body’s eyes, peering about in darkness to behold the likeness of itself;

Strength overlooks these things by seeing past appearances. ²It keeps its steady gaze upon the light that lies beyond them. ³It unites with light, of which it is a part. ⁴It sees itself.

³Truth is a savior and can only will for happiness and peace for everyone. ⁴It gives its strength to everyone who asks, in limitless supply. ⁵It sees that lack in anyone would be a lack in all. ⁶And so it gives its light that all may see and benefit as one. ⁷Its strength is shared, that it may bring to all the miracle in which they will unite in purpose and forgiveness and in love.

The light of strength is constant, sure as love, forever glad to give itself away, because it cannot give but to itself. (W-92.3:1-3;4:1-4;5:3-7;8:1)

As an extension of God’s Love, our function is to extend His Love. In reality, there is nothing but Love; we are all united in Love’s oneness.

In the dream of this world, we believe there are barriers that can stop the eternal flow of Love. Our function in this world, then, is to forgive the perceived barriers. Forgiveness releases the illusionary barriers that interfere with the awareness that we live in Love. When we choose to see with the Light of Love, we bring Light to the world. We free ourselves to be God’s extension of Love.

Today we choose Love’s oneness by forgiving our mistaken beliefs. We let go of judgments and accept the happiness and peace that is God’s strength in us.
