Calling for Help Welcomes the Answer

I need but call and You will answer me.

I am not asked to take salvation on the basis of an unsupported faith. ²For God has promised He will hear my call, and answer me Himself. ³Let me but learn from my experience that this is true, and faith in Him must surely come to me. ⁴This is the faith that will endure, and take me farther and still farther on the road that leads to Him. ⁵For thus I will be sure that He has not abandoned me and loves me still, awaiting but my call to give me all the help I need to come to Him.

Father, I thank You that Your promises will never fail in my experience, if I but test them out. ²Let me attempt therefore to try them, and to judge them not. ³Your Word is one with You. ⁴You give the means whereby conviction comes, and surety of Your abiding Love is gained at last.” (A Course in Miracles, W-327. God has the answer for all our mistaken thoughts. He has already given the Thought that created His Son holy and complete, eternally united with Himself. We can count on our Creator to keep us whole within Himself. We need only call for His Help. This call welcomes the help He has already given. It opens our mind to receive His gift.

Whenever we feel lack of peace or happiness, we can call for His help by pausing and welcoming the peace within. His Answer is always found in a peaceful mind. In peace we hear His Voice. In peace we receive His vision to see past appearances in the dream to the reality of present Love. God welcomes our call.

Today is a great day to practice accepting His Help.

Remembering God’s Will for Us, His Son

God in His mercy wills that I be saved.

I need but look upon all things that seem to hurt me, and with perfect certainty assure myself, “God wills that I be saved from this,” and merely watch them disappear. ²I need but keep in mind my Father’s Will for me is only happiness, to find that only happiness has come to me. ³And I need but remember that God’s Love surrounds His Son and keeps his sinlessness forever perfect, to be sure that I am saved and safe forever in His Arms. ⁴I am the Son He loves. ⁵And I am saved because God in His mercy wills it so.

Father, Your Holiness is mine. ²Your Love created me, and made my sinlessness forever part of You. ³I have no guilt nor sin in me, for there is none in You. (A Course in Miracles, W-235. See also ACIM Lesson 235 Insights.)

The ego has a very low opinion of what we are. It tells us we are sinners, guilty and do not deserve to live. It sees our death as proof that it is right, and God must be wrong. If we listen to the ego, we see ourselves in constant jeopardy in a world that is out to destroy us. Happiness seems to be temporary, lasting only for fleeting moments.

God sees His Son as the same as Himself, holy, at peace, and creating with Love eternally. He keeps His Son one with Him, held in His safety and certainty that His Son remains at Home with Him in the Heaven of His Love. This is His Will for us. It is time to remember that His Will for us remains unchanged and unchangeable.

Healing Our Mind Heals the World

Let us not fight our function. ²We did not establish it. ³It is not our idea. ⁴The means are given us by which it will be perfectly accomplished. ⁵All that we are asked to do is to accept our part in genuine humility, and not deny with self-deceiving arrogance that we are worthy. ⁶What is given us to do, we have the strength to do. ⁷Our minds are suited perfectly to take the part assigned to us by One Who knows us well.

³We will be certain only that He knows our strengths, our wisdom and our holiness. ⁴And if He deems us worthy, so we are.

Do as God’s Voice directs. ²And if It asks a thing of you which seems impossible, remember Who it is that asks, and who would make denial. ³Then consider this; which is more likely to be right? ⁴The Voice that speaks for the Creator of all things, Who knows all things exactly as they are, or a distorted image of yourself, confused, bewildered, inconsistent and unsure of everything? ⁵Let not its voice direct you. ⁶Hear instead a certain Voice, which tells you of a function given you by your Creator Who remembers you, and urges that you now remember Him.

⁴He has Thoughts which answer every need His Son perceives, although He sees them not. ⁵For Love must give, and what is given in His Name takes on the form most useful in a world of form. (A Course in Miracles, W-186.2;4:3-4;12;13:4-5. See also ACIM Lesson 186 Insights.)

We believe in a world of form, which is not real. Love, in reality, has no form. But to bring healing to our mind invested in form, Love must be expressed in forms that are understood. For this we need the Holy Spirit’s help.

We ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in the way of Love. As we let Him direct our thoughts and actions, we bring Love’s healing message to the world. The expressions of Love we give the world heal our minds as they heal the world. We would be Love’s messengers today.

Letting Our Minds Be Healed

…you are never healed alone. ⁴And legions upon legions will receive the gift that you receive when you are healed.

⁶Today we ask that only truth will occupy our minds; that thoughts of healing will this day go forth from what is healed to what must yet be healed, aware that they will both occur as one.

…our function is to let our minds be healed, that we may carry healing to the world, exchanging curse for blessing, pain for joy, and separation for the peace of God.

³When I am healed I am not healed alone. ⁴And I would share my healing with the world, that sickness may be banished from the mind of God’s one Son, Who is my only Self. (W-137.10:3-4;12:6–13:1;14:3-4)

It is important to remember that our function is to let our mind be healed. The ego defends against all loving thoughts which automatically heal. This is because Love dispels fear and guilt, the ego’s defenses. Where Love is accepted, the ego is dispelled.

We let our minds be healed when we are willing to accept the Holy Spirit’s help to transform our misperceptions. We welcome His help by pausing when we observe judgment, fearful or guilty thoughts. As we accept the peace within, we are able to receive the Holy Spirit’s vision which shows us Love’s truth beyond appearances. Love unifies. The ego divides.

When we accept Love’s healing, it brings us awareness of our unity so that we are not healed alone. We accept that we are joined in God’s Love.

Claiming Our True Identity

⁴Fear not to give redemption over to your Redeemer’s Love. ⁵He will not fail you, for He comes from One Who cannot fail. ⁶Accept your sense of failure as nothing more than a mistake in who you are. ⁷For the holy host of God is beyond failure, and nothing that he wills can be denied. ⁸You are forever in a relationship so holy that it calls to everyone to escape from loneliness, and join you in your love. ⁹And where you are must everyone seek, and find you there.

Think but an instant on this: God gave the Sonship to you, to ensure your perfect creation. ²This was His gift, for as He withheld Himself not from you, He withheld not His creation. ³Nothing that ever was created but is yours. ⁴Your relationships are with the universe. ⁵And this universe, being of God, is far beyond the petty sum of all the separate bodies you perceive. ⁶For all its parts are joined in God through Christ, where they become like to their Father. ⁷Christ knows of no separation from His Father, Who is His one relationship, in which He gives as His Father gives to Him.

⁴Leave, then, what seems to you to be impossible, to Him Who knows it must be possible because it is the Will of God. ⁵And let Him Whose teaching is only of God teach you the only meaning of relationships. ⁶For God created the only relationship that has meaning, and that is His relationship with you. Our sense of failure is only the effect of our belief in a mistaken identity. We are not alone and separate; we are not a body. We have not broken our eternal connection with our Creator. We live and have our being in the universe of His Love.

To remember our true relationship with our Father, we need to undo our belief in a false identity. We have been given the Holy Spirit to help us let go of our mistaken beliefs. Every time our serenity and happiness seems to be disturbed is an opportunity to turn to Him for help.

We can pause and quiet our mind. As we relax and focus on the peace within, we open our mind to His loving vision. We are helped to see past appearances to the eternal Love that unites us with every brother and our Father.

Sharing the Blessings of Love

The glory of my Father is my own.

Let not the truth about ourselves today be hidden by a false humility. ²Let us instead be thankful for the gifts our Father gave us. ³Can we see in those with whom He shares His glory any trace of sin and guilt? ⁴And can it be that we are not among them, when He loves His Son forever and with perfect constancy, knowing he is as He created him?

We thank You, Father, for the light that shines forever in us. ²And we honor it, because You share it with us. ³We are one, united in this light and one with You, at peace with all creation and ourselves. (A Course in Miracles, W-239. See also ACIM Lesson 239 Insights.)

Clouds of guilt and fear hide the Light of Love that is our true Self. We let our Light shine when we forgive our illusions that make us feel separate, alone and lacking Love. Today we welcome the Light within that shines upon all in gratitude and peace.

We accept the blessing Love brings us by extending It to our brothers in the world. By letting Love be our Guide, we let Love’s Light illuminate the dream and open our mind to awaken to the Love we are.

Welcoming Christ’s Love in the Present

This instant is the only time there is.

I have conceived of time in such a way that I defeat my aim. ²If I elect to reach past time to timelessness, I must change my perception of what time is for. ³Time’s purpose cannot be to keep the past and future one. ⁴The only interval in which I can be saved from time is now. ⁵For in this instant has forgiveness come to set me free. ⁶The birth of Christ is now, without a past or future. ⁷He has come to give His present blessing to the world, restoring it to timelessness and love. ⁸And love is ever-present, here and now.

Thanks for this instant, Father. ²It is now I am redeemed. ³This instant is the time You have appointed for Your Son’s release, and for salvation of the world in him. (A Course in Miracles, W-308. See also ACIM Lesson 308 Insights.)

Whenever our peace is disturbed, it is always caused by thoughts of the past or the future. We may feel guilty or upset about something that occurred in the past. We may wish that something happen in the future. Or we may worry about something might occur in the future. These thoughts block the present moment from our awareness.

In the present moment there is Love and nothing else. In the timelessness of now, there is no form, only the changeless Love that is our true Self, united with our Creator. This Love extends forever. It keeps us safely in It’s peace. It brings joy as It extends the eternal giving and receiving that is Love.

Today we pause frequently to step away from thoughts of past and future. We ask the Holy Spirit to help us experience the present as it Is. We welcome the Love of Christ that is now, everywhere and forever.
