Rest in God’s Peace in the Certainty of Now

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today let yourself remember that you rest in God… Let yourself remember that you are Love’s Extension and that Love is all there is to see… Let any other thoughts just gently fall away… Allow simple uncomplicated Love to fill your mind and heal every false idea that shows up… Today is a day of resting in God’s peace.

Robert:
Yesterday, in a telephone conversation with Pathways of Light minister Rev. Barbara Allen, the idea came up that I am “clueless in the ego.” Since the ego knows nothing of reality, being the denial of it, the ego is absolutely clueless. To turn to the clueless ego for understanding and guidance is an exercise in futility. Help cannot be found where none exists.

Yesterday I was reminded not to plan for the future. Today I am reminded not to look for help from the ego. It has none to offer. Instead, I am reminded to take every concern and question to the Holy Spirit and hold my mind open to His all-seeing response. The point of certainty is in the timeless, eternal present. If I am thinking about what might happen, I have stepped out of the reality of now into the illusion of time. This cannot bring me peace, but only uncertainty.

I hold the Holy Spirit’s Hand today as my Anchor to help me stay in the certainty of now.

Dissolving Fear Thoughts

Robert:
It seems that right now I am particularly tempted to try to make plans for the future. Yet I know that all I really want is to follow Holy Spirit’s plan. I know that His plan will always bring me lasting happiness and peace. The antidote for this temptation is to be vigilant for peace and remind myself frequently through the day to place the future in God’s Hands. I am not responsible for making this world “right” according to my ideas of how it should look. My only responsibility is to fulfill my function — to join in Love and extend It. In peace I place the future in the Hands of God.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
There is only one Self… This means all perception of differences are unreal… This means the sight of Christ is all there is to see… This is your journey now… Practice allowing the Light of true vision to shine through the illusions of the world… This will bring you peace… Remember that you rest in the eternal peace of God today… As you practice this, it will dissolve all fear thoughts…

The Way to Happiness and Peace

Robert:
The way to happiness and peace is to let go of all images in the world. The images of the world are just forms without content and can never satisfy. Contentment can only come with acceptance of my true Self, the one Self we all share, the Son of God. The Son of God shares God’s completion. Discontent of any kind can only mean that I am denying my Source and my completion.

My experience is that the more I let go of value I have given forms in the world, the more content I feel. I feel more peaceful and happy. I am less easily disturbed by any event, circumstance or appearance of someone’s behavior. All that really matters is that I accept God’s gift of His completion. I do this by taking every perceived disturbance to the Holy Spirit and open my mind to His vision. He will show me the Light beyond the form. The form fades away in the Light of Love.

Today is another day of vigilance for peace, taking any disturbance to the Holy Spirit for His gentle correction. This is how I forgive or let go of false idols and accept the reality of my Self in God.

Mary:
Amen! Today is another day of practice stepping back and following Holy Spirit’s lead.

Awareness of Home

Mary:
This morning we were led to Lesson 158 of the Workbook for Students in A Course in Miracles. I found the following paragraph particularly helpful:

What has been given you? The knowledge that you are a mind, in Mind, and purely mind, sinless forever, wholly unafraid, because you were created out of Love. Nor have you left your Source, remaining as you were created. This was given you as knowledge which you cannot lose. It was given as well to every living thing, for by that knowledge only does it live. (W-pI.158.1)

This reminds me that I was created out of Love and that this Love is forever. This helps me remember that, in truth, there are no differences and that there is nothing to fear. The whole Sonship cannot lose what It is. We all have all Love forever. We can relax now. We are safe because we cannot lose our Identity as Love. This has been given us and we are coming to the point where we are willing to remember that only this is true about everyone in this world. And I am grateful that only this is true.

Robert:
Peace cannot be found in the past nor planned for in the future. Peace is experienced only in the eternal present. Our true Identity is timeless. The past and future are meaningless to the Self we share with all creation.

To wake up from the dream of time the practice of focusing on the present moment leads me out of the dream. In the peace of the present moment I am open to the Holy Spirit’s vision that sees past all images to the Light of Love that is everywhere.

Today is another peaceful, joyous day of practice giving full attention to the present. And I accept the help of my Mighty Companion, Who shares His vision with me, showing me the way Home.

Accepting God’s Thoughts

Mary:
In our morning reading of A Course in Miracles, this is what stood out to me:

When your mood tells you that you have chosen wrongly, and this is so whenever you are not joyous, then know this need not be. In every case you have thought wrongly about some brother God created, and you are perceiving images your ego makes in a darkened glass. Think honestly what you have thought that God would not have thought, and what you have not thought that God would have you think. Search sincerely for what you have done and left undone accordingly, and then change your mind to think with God’s. (T-4.IV.2:2-5)

Because my mind and everyone’s mind is one with God’s, our natural inheritance is peace and joy. If I am not feeling peace and joy, then I am denying that my mind is one with God’s. It is such a blessing to know that I do not have to put up with the dis-spiriting thoughts of the ego. I can allow my mind to be changed by the Holy Spirit. The ego is not my identity and therefore guilt, sadness and being anxious about anything does not come from what I am in truth.

Jesus tells me to watch my mind for the temptations of the ego and not to be deceived by it. This is my practice today. I can let go of holding on to these thoughts. I can hand them over to the Holy Spirit and be returned to my natural state of peace and joy. This is my opportunity today. What a blessing!

Robert:
In my defenselessness my safety lies. This thought offers complete release from the bondage of belief in separation. If I think and want separation to be real, then I need to maintain that separation. This is done through judgment. Myriad rules and regulations have been made by which to judge and separate. As I learn to practice asking, “What is this for?” and open to the Holy Spirit’s answer, the rules that were made to maintain separation are given a new purpose. As I follow the purpose given by Holy Spirit, what was made to bind becomes the means to be free.

Today I will practice letting Holy Spirit give His purpose to all that I do. Thus will my day be a day of learning to be free. Oh happy day!

Let Love and Peace Lead the Way

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today remember simple, uncomplicated Love. Remember that you rest in Love always. Remember that Love is you nature, your function. And let everything flow from Love. Step back and let Love lead the way today. Love always leads you to peace and gentleness and a deep sense of well being. Let this be your journey today.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Pay attention to your level of peace today. Peace opens the door to the awareness of your true Self. It clears your mind to be inspired by the truth in you. Let peace lead the way today and you will have a happy day.

Offer Everyone Their Full Due

Mary:
Today we were guided to read A Course in Miracles Workbook, Lesson 37, “My holiness blesses the world.”

Your purpose is to see the world through your own holiness. Thus are you and the world blessed together. No one loses; nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone gains through your holy vision. It signifies the end of sacrifice because it offers everyone his full due. And he is entitled to everything because it is his birthright as a Son of God. (W-pI.37.1:2-6)

My job today is to offer everyone their full due. That is how I bless the world and help myself awaken to my true Identity. We all share one Identity. Accepting this and extending this is my purpose. The Light of God is all there is to see today. This brings me peace and joy.

Robert:
The central, ongoing, everyday lesson for me is to trust in Holy Spirit’s guidance. Since this world was made to deny my Identity as God created It, this world is the expression of distrust of my Self. The world establishes a surrounding that justifies distrust in what cannot be perceived through the body. In fact the body is the central figure in the denial of the reality of Love. It could be said that the mantra of this world is that what the body cannot perceive cannot be trusted.

But the effect of this distrust is ongoing fear because trust is being applied to an illusion of a world that has no substance. Trusting in what has no substance must bring fear with it. Symbolically it’s like stepping off a cliff and trusting that the air will support you. That’s what the ego tells us we are doing if we place our trust in Spirit. Yet actually the reality is the opposite. When we trust in the ego’s images, it is as if we are trusting in being supported by air. When we trust in the Holy Spirit, it’s like standing on an immovable rock.

So where do I want to place my trust? Do I want to be in fear or do I want to be certain of my safety? This is the choice between the world of dreams and the Reality of Love. I have experienced the blessing of remembering that my safety is in Love. In those moments I know without doubt that all my needs are met; I have everything I need when I need it. There is no concern about the future and the past is a forgotten memory. It is this awareness I want to keep in every moment.

This is my focus for today: I trust in God, Who is my Source and my strength. I need care for nothing, for I remain as God created me.
