Living in the Grace of God

The Grace of God is given freely to all, but you must be ready to receive It. Our Father’s Grace brings the Kingdom and the Glory to your experience in the dream. The world becomes a gentler place, a kinder place, shining with a different Light when you live in a state of Grace. When Grace envelops you, you will feel the Love of God and know you are safe. All of your cares will seem like nothing then. God’s Grace rests always on those who live in service to the Great Plan of Atonement. When your only concern is to fulfill the part assigned to you, Grace will follow you everywhere and nothing will be lacking. (From The Christ Mind Book II pp 43-44)

Living in God’s Grace is living in a state of mind… We have to be willing to join with God’s state of Mind in order to receive God’s state of Mind… If we continue to hold barriers that close off God’s state of Mind, we are shutting ourselves off from the peace, safety and Love that comes with It. It is all up to us and our level of willingness to make living in a state of Grace our highest priority.

As we willingly step back and provide a space to receive God’s Grace, we naturally extend It to everyone equally… Within God’s Grace, we naturally know that giving is receiving and receiving is giving… Just as God shares all Love with us, we share all the Love we have and are with everyone… This is our natural function as we live in a state of Grace… Awareness of our oneness with God and every brother becomes apparent…

Being willing to live in God’s Grace is synonymous with being of service to the Great Plan of Atonement… It is accepting our inheritance and our oneness with God… This knowledge of our oneness with God is shared equally with every brother… We experience peace and happiness with this knowing that we are all one with God in truth.

Forgiveness Is the Way to Happiness

The forgiveness the Holy Spirit brings to our mind sees past separate bodies to the truth that everyone is still Love as God created them. Or practice today is to see the world as Holy Spirit sees it. Holy Spirit’s true perception shows us how to see past projections of guilt to the truth of Love’s eternal Oneness, which is the Source of everyone we see.

Our practice today is to be aware of Holy Spirit’s help in every situation and accept the help as we go through our day. As our seeing is guided by Holy Spirit, Love’s happiness is reflected there. Love’s peace is extended in the world. This is how we free the world from our projections of guilt.

Practicing Vigilance for Peace

We practice coming nearer to the light in us today. We take our wandering thoughts, and gently bring them back to where they fall in line with all the thoughts we share with God. We will not let them stray. We let the light within our minds direct them to come home.

…we acknowledge that the peace of God still shines in us, and from us to all living things that share our life. We will forgive them all, absolving all the world from what we thought it did to us. For it is we who make the world as we would have it. Now we choose that it be innocent, devoid of sin and open to salvation. And we lay our saving blessing on it, as we say:

The peace of God is shining in me now. Let all things shine upon me in that peace, And let me bless them with the light in me. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 188, W-pI.188.9:1-4;10:1-7. See also ACIM Lesson 188 Insights.)

We remember that today is a day of practice. We practice taking the fear thoughts which arise in our mind to the Holy Spirit to be transformed to true perception. As we accept true perception, we are able to feel the peace of God. As we accept the peace of God, we share it with all the world. And for this we give thanks. This is truly worth vigilance and practice.

Being Love’s Messenger

Today I would pay attention to God’s Voice… It speaks to me in every moment… I would learn to recognize Its messages — in the events of the day, thoughts in my mind, feelings in my heart, messages spoken or unspoken through my brother or something I read.

As I hold my heart and mind open to His Voice and follow Its lead, I become Love’s messenger. The message of Love I carry blesses me and blesses the world, for we are all God’s one Son, united with our Creator. I would be Love’s messenger today.

Opening to Truth and Healing

We will be still and listen for the Voice of healing, which will cure all ills as one, restoring saneness to the Son of God. No voice but this can cure. Today we hear a single Voice which speaks to us of truth, where all illusions end, and peace returns to the eternal, quiet home of God. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 140, W-pI.140.10:2-4. We listen to God when we relax and let go… There is no strain nor efforting… We simply stop and open to the Light within our mind… We acknowledge that this Light of Truth is there, waiting for our receptivity and openness… We let the feeling of gentleness, patience and Love fill our mind until it is overflowing and reaches everyone equally… We are filled with gratitude and peace… We remember that we are safe in the Heart of God eternally… And for this we give thanks.

God Walks With Us Always

“Who walks with me?” This question should be asked a thousand times a day, till certainty has ended doubting and established peace. Today let doubting cease. God speaks for you in answering your question with these words:

I walk with God in perfect holiness. I light the world, I light my mind and all the minds which God created one with me. (A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 156, W-pI.156.8. See also ACIM Lesson 156 Insights.)

In this world it seems that we are alone and left to our own devices to survive. Yet the Course is reminding us that God walks with us always, whether we are aware of Him or not. If we ask the simple question, “Who walks with me?” God’s answer reassures us that we walk with God.

All of God’s strength, Love, peace and joy are available to us right now. We need only let go of the veil of self-deception that shows us an image of apparent separation and lack. We have been given the Holy Spirit, the Voice for God, to guide us in the way that leads us out of self deception and to the acceptance that we remain God’s Son. We remain Love’s extension, along with all our brothers.

Today we would remind ourselves again and again that we walk in God’s Love, share His strength and in truth live in His peace. As we let His Light guide us, we easily see and let go of the false images that blind us to the awareness that we remain at Home in Love.

Choosing Peace to Find Spirit’s Joy

You are part of Reality, which stands unchanged beyond the reach of your ego but within easy reach of Spirit. When you are afraid, be still and know that God is real, and you are His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased.

The ego is afraid of the Spirit’s joy, because once you have experienced it you will withdraw all protection from the ego, and become totally without investment in fear. Your investment [in fear] is great now because fear is a witness to the separation, and your ego rejoices when you witness to [separation]. Leave it behind! Do not listen to it and do not preserve it. Listen only to God, Who is as incapable of deception as is the Spirit He created.

Of your ego you can do nothing to save yourself or others, but of your Spirit you can do everything for the salvation of both. (A Course in Miracles, T-4.I.8:5-6;10:1-5;12:1. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Today we practice listening to God, our Source. We open to the Spirit of Joy Which is God’s gift to us as we open to Him. With God, our values are set straight. We are willing to let go of wandering in the wilderness of the ego’s false values.

As we go through our day, we continue to practice choosing peace, which opens our mind to that Light of Love’s oneness. As we let the remembrance of Love’s Presence return to our mind, we give It joyfully as we have received.  All this comes naturally and effortlessly as we choose peace to find Spirit’s joy.
