Accepting Our Oneness in God

The beautiful relationship you have with all your brothers is a part of you because it is a part of God Himself. Are you not sick, if you deny yourself your wholeness and your health, the Source of help, the Call to healing and the Call to heal? …For healing will be one or not at all, its oneness being where the healing is. What could correct for separation but its opposite [oneness]? There is no middle ground in any aspect of salvation. You accept it wholly or accept it not. What is unseparated must be joined. And what is joined cannot be separate.” (A Course in Miracles, T-28.VII.2:1-2,5-9. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

Accepting our oneness in God is at the core of our awakening. God created us as one with Him and one with every brother. God sees no separation. Our perception of separation is healed as we are willing to join with our inner Teacher, the Holy Spirit.

As we step back from what our body’s eyes are showing us and open to a correction of our perception, the Holy Spirit shows us the innocence of Love that joins us as one. The Holy Spirit sees past illusions of separation to the truth that only the Love of our Creator is real. The Holy Spirit shows us that, in truth, we are joined in the one Mind of God. We are all the same Love in the one Mind of Love.

As we accept our oneness with our brother in God, we see our brothers as our friends. We no longer need to maintain defenses against an external being. We join with the Love in our brothers as we accept our oneness in God.

Accepting Holy Spirit’s Use of Time

Every day is an opportunity to choose peace instead of conflict, Love instead of fear, innocence instead of guilt, oneness instead of separation. Through forgiveness we make this choice. Forgiveness clears the barriers to our awareness of the Love that is already ours and has already given us everything we really want.

The Holy Spirit’s purpose for time is to use every moment as an opportunity to teach the truth — that we remain as Love created us. We cannot learn this from the ego’s lessons, for it always teaches the opposite to Love. With the practice of consistently opening to the Holy Spirit’s vision, the vision of our True Self, we forgive and are healed of the effects of false perception.

The Holy Spirit is always reminding us that the appearances of the world have no effect on us. Nothing can change the Son of God. Nothing can change the Love we are. With the guidance of our Inner Teacher, we choose to awaken to our Self. And we are free.

Being Kind to Yourself and Others

The grace of God rests gently on forgiving eyes, and everything they look on speaks of Him to the beholder. He can see no evil; nothing in the world to fear, and no one who is different from himself. And as he loves them, so he looks upon himself with love and gentleness. He would no more condemn himself for his mistakes than damn another. He is not an arbiter of vengeance, nor a punisher of sin. The kindness of his sight rests on himself with all the tenderness it offers others. For he would only heal and only bless. And being in accord with what God wills, he has the power to heal and bless all those he looks on with the grace of God upon his sight. (A Course in Miracles, T-25.VI.1. See also ACIM Text Q & A.)

We focus today on practicing receiving and extending Holy Spirit’s kindly forgiving vision. With our interactions with others, we would only heal and bless. We receive God’s grace and give God’s grace as we go through our day today.

As we accept Holy Spirit’s forgiving vision, we see the innocence in our brothers and ourselves. With this vision we naturally offer Love in every circumstance. With forgiveness, we are naturally kind to others and ourselves.

Holy Spirit Is My Best Friend

Holy Spirit, I come to You today, my best Friend, Who speaks only truth to me and does not judge; Who sees me as I really am, not as I think I am. Thank You Holy Spirit for not believing in my illusions. Thank You for being my Companion, sheltering me with Your peace, comforting me with Your Love and teaching me of the Self I share with all the world. 



Thank You for Your trust in me, which inspires my trust in You. I know that I can bring all my thoughts to You and You will help me let go of what is unreal, of what hides the peace of God from my awareness. Thus do You teach me to forget all things but Love and I remember Who I am. (Excerpt from A Course in Miracles, Daily Lesson 346 Insights.)

Looking Lovingly on Our Brothers

We have a mission here. We did not come to reinforce the madness that we once believed in. Let us not forget the goal that we accepted. It is more than just our happiness alone we came to gain. What we accept as what we are proclaims what everyone must be, along with us. Fail not your brothers, or you fail yourself. Look lovingly on them, that they may know that they are part of you, and you of them. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.139.9. See also ACIM Lesson 139 Insights.)

Our mission here is to accept our true Identity as God created us. Our mission here is to accept the truth of everyone’s true Identity. In truth we all are joined as the one Love of God. In truth we are all the same extension of the Mind of universal Love.

Because this world shows us the opposite of Love’s oneness, we awaken to the truth as we consistently step back from what our body’s eyes show us and open to the inspiration that comes from our true Identity. Here we are reminded again that we are still safe in the Mind of God. We are reminded again that we are not a body, we are free. We are still the pure Spirit of Love as God created us.

We are reminded that we are safe… we are innocent… we are loved… we are Home… now and for eternity. And this same truth about us is true about every brother. That is why we “look lovingly on them, that they may know that they are part of you, and you of them.” (9:7)

Returning to Our Home in Heaven

Heaven itself is reached with empty hands and open minds, which come with nothing to find everything and claim it as their own. We will attempt to reach this state today, with self-deception laid aside, and with an honest willingness to value but the truly valuable and the real. [Remind yourself]:

I will not value what is valueless, and only what has value do I seek, for only that do I desire to find. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.133.13. See also ACIM Lesson 133 Insights.)

Today we will remember the truth that only changeless Love is real… Today we will remember that we gain our freedom from the ego as we shift our belief from time to eternity… Today we will remember we are still as God created us — whole, perfect and complete…

We are the Spirit of Love. We come from God and we remain in God eternally. Here we find peace. As we do this we free ourselves and the world from ego’s false images of separation and return to real world of God’s oneness. It returns us to the gates of Heaven, where we are welcomed Home.

Forgiveness Ends All Suffering and Loss

Forgiveness paints a picture of a world where suffering is over, loss becomes impossible and anger makes no sense. Attack is gone, and madness has an end. What suffering is now conceivable? What loss can be sustained? [In forgiveness] the world becomes a place of joy, abundance, charity and endless giving. It is now so like to Heaven that it quickly is transformed into the light that it reflects. And so the journey which the Son of God began has ended in the light from which he came. Forgiveness comes when we take our thoughts to the Holy Spirit to be undone. Our practice today is to forgive the world for all we thought it was. The truth is we are still one with the Mind of universal Love. We have not changed into a weak, vulnerable, separate entity. Because God created us whole and perfect, we could not change or be different from the pure Love we are eternally.

Through the practice of forgiveness, we let go of what we thought we were. We let go of what we thought our brothers were. We open to the Light of the Holy Spirit within and willingly let our false ideas be undone in the Light of truth. This is why forgiveness ends all suffering and loss.
