Receiving Holy Spirit’s Gift

Christ’s vision is the Holy Spirit’s gift, God’s alternative to the illusion of separation and to the belief in the reality of sin, guilt, and death. [Christ’s vision] is the one correction for all errors of perception; the reconciliation of the seeming opposites on which this world is based. Its kindly light shows all things from another point of view, reflecting the thought system that arises from knowledge and making return to God not only possible but inevitable. What was regarded as injustices done to one by someone else, now becomes a call for help and for union. Sin, sickness, and attack are seen as misperceptions calling for remedy through gentleness and love. (A Course in Miracles Preface, What It Says, xiii)

Today our focus is on receiving Christ’s vision from the Holy Spirit. We step back frequently today from our busy activities and leave a quiet open space for Christ’s vision to be received. This world of separation is not our home. We come from Love’s oneness and we make room today for the correction of our errors in perception. As we make room for God, Love’s presence is remembered.

Christ’s vision is all we want to see today. We make room to receive Holy Spirit’s gift. And we give thanks that we receive as we have asked.

I Place the Future in the Hands of God

Place, then, your future in the Hands of God. For thus you call the memory of Him to come again, replacing all your thoughts of sin and evil with the truth of love. Think you the world could fail to gain thereby, and every living creature not respond with healed perception? Who entrusts himself to God has also placed the world within the Hands to which he has himself appealed for comfort and security. He lays aside the sick illusions of the world along with his, and offers peace to both.

Now are we saved indeed. For in God’s Hands we rest untroubled, sure that only good can come to us. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.194:8,9:1-2)

“I place the future in the Hands of God.” This is our mantra for today. It is a beautiful way to reset our thinking back to the truth that we remain as Love created us. In the eternal Mind of Love, there is no past or future. We may forget and forget again, but as we reinforce our practice of placing the future in the Hands of God, we are returned to the holy instant where our mind belongs. We all are of our Father and in our Father’s loving Mind.

His Love is never ending, never limited, never conditional. He sees us as Himself, one with Him and in Him. In Him our safety is absolute. We can rest assured knowing that we are in His Hands.

Forgiveness Is Our Purpose Now

And when the memory of God has come to you in the holy place of forgiveness you will remember nothing else, and memory will be as useless as learning, for your only purpose will be creating. Yet this you cannot know until every perception has been cleansed and purified, and finally removed forever. Forgiveness removes only the untrue, lifting the shadows from the world and carrying it, safe and sure within its gentleness, to the bright world of new and clean perception. There is your purpose now. And it is there that peace awaits you. (A Course in Miracles T-18.IX.14)

As we open to the Holy Spirit and ask that our perceptions be purified, He shows us the real world beyond this world. He shows us that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. The Holy Spirit shows us that ideas leave not their source and everything we see is a projection coming from the tiny thought of separation.

As we are willing, the Holy Spirit brings us to the Light behind our perceptions. Here we clearly see their unsubstantial nature. We don’t take them so seriously as our thoughts are purified through our willingness forgive our belief in separation. We return again to the truth that we remain Love, innocent and whole. This forgiveness process is our only purpose now in our return to the memory of God.

We Rest in God

Today our practice is to carry with us all through the day the remembrance that we rest in God. Our true Identity, joined with every brother, is changeless in the peace and joy of our Father, our one Source.

We can carry this remembering of deep peace and rest through every activity on which we are led. This is our practice for today. With this practice we move past the constantly changing fluctuations of the ego thoughts to the changeless eternal Presence That is our one Reality. We let the truth of our one Reality return to our minds today. It is worth the vigilance. And we give thanks.

Seeing Beyond Appearances

This is our prayer today: Holy Spirit, help us to see with Your vision today. Help us to see past appearances in the world to the loving innocence that is the truth in every brother. Help us step away from the temptation to judge the behavior of a body and remember that no one is a body. Everyone is the free, loving extension of God’s Love, and nothing else. We are willing to be taught. We are willing to learn the lessons that lead us Home to the joy of our Creator. Amen.

Today We Celebrate Everyone’s Holiness

Today we were reminded that our holiness envelops everything we see. (ACIM WB Lesson 36) When we allow ourselves to feel this, our world feels very safe. Nothing but holiness surrounds us and everything is included in that holiness. With this recognition, there is nothing to defend against, nothing to conquer, nothing to hide.

Holiness is all there is to see and all there is to be. Peace flows through us and we welcome all our brothers with joy. As we recognize that holiness surrounds us, we recognize that we are part of this all-encompassing holiness. Nothing real is left out of holiness. This is the recognition of Heaven. Let’s celebrate our holiness together today.

We Share One Life

We share one life because we have one Source, a Source from which perfection comes to us, remaining always in the holy minds which He created perfect. As we were, so are we now and will forever be. A sleeping mind must waken, as it sees its own perfection mirroring the Lord of life so perfectly it fades into what is reflected there. And now it is no more a mere reflection. It becomes the thing reflected, and the light which makes reflection possible. No vision now is needed. For the wakened mind is one that knows its Source, its Self, its Holiness. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.167.12)

The oneness of Life is what makes death impossible. Nothing exists separate from this one Life. We have done such a good job of making up images of separation and believing they are real that death seems to be inevitable. This seeming inevitability is really the sign that, despite all our efforts to believe separation is real, we know that it is inevitable that we will realize it is not true.

It could be said that this realization is the death of the idea of death. The ego proclaims death as an end. But when we realize that death is only a mistaken idea of being separate from Life, we easily let this false idea go and return to the full realization of the Life we share with God. The Course calls this waking up from the dream of death. Waking up only seems hard to do because we value the images in the dream.

Our practice today is to hold our minds open to Holy Spirit’s vision of all things, situations and events that seem to appear to us today. As we accept His vision, we let the Light of truth in and move closer to the full recognition that we share one Life with God.
